UFC chief Dana White dismissed Kamaru Usman's desire to fight Canelo Alvarez after the boxer beat Caleb Plant. When asked what he thought of Usman calling out Alvarez for a fight earlier this week, White responded: "I watched the Canelo fight tonight. "He doesn't want to fight Canelo, he doesn't want to fight Canelo. "C'mon man let's stop this s***." Alvarez is ranked as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world by Ring magazine. DANA WHITE won a staggering $100,000 (£74k) bet after Canelo Alvarez's stunning KO of Caleb Plant. The UFC chief - who oversaw a stacked card in which Kamaru Usman beat Colby Covington - placed the huge wager on the P4P king before their super-middleweight undisputed world title fight in Las Vegas. 4Dana White is £30,000 richer after Canelo Alvarez's win over Caleb PlantCredit: Splash And it was quids in for White, who walked away with $41k (£30k) after backing the Mexican to win by knock-out. Canelo, 31, struggled throughout the fight but sent Plant crashing to the canvas in the 11th round. He is now the first-ever undisputed super-middleweight champion in history - and has banked at least £30m for his troubles. And White is a whole lot richer for it, too. The 52-year-old - who watched the fight on TV while sitting in the front row at UFC 268 - admits he is a 'degenerate' gambler having lost a $1MILLION (£741k) boxing bet in 2007. CARL FRAMPTON has called boxing's only champion with a 100 per cent knockout ratio a 'dangerous' fight for Canelo Alvarez. And his status as the sport's top attraction could even put him in position to dictate terms to suit him more, like making Beterbiev, 36, lose precious pounds. Frampton, 34, said: "You move up to light-heavyweights and Beterbiev gives him problems, that is a dangerous fight.  “And if he takes that fight - because it has been mentioned - it’s a dangerous, dangerous fight.  “But I’d imagine if it does come off, it would probably be a few pounds below light-heavyweight to suit Canelo.”   The Mexican superstar's only career defeat came...
Canelo Alvarez does not like Caleb Plant as a person in what’s a bad-blood fight. Could his anger lead him astray against Plant on Nov. 6? The upcoming super middleweight battle between boxing champions Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant for undisputed status switched lanes into a grudge match on Sept. 21 during their first press conference. Will the seething animosity impact Alvarez’s performance on fight night? During their contentious press conference, Plant and Alvarez threw hands, with Alvarez getting the better of the action. He opened up a cut under Plant’s left eye, but the war of words has continued ever since. Plant has mocked Alvarez on social media, insinuating that he is a PED abuser based on his 2018 suspension for clenbuterol. Even though there’s evidence that tainted meat could have caused the positive test, Alvarez still had to serve a suspension. Plant’s words and actions have gotten under Alvarez’s skin, evidenced by their Sept. 21 altercation. Alvarez has been vocal about his disdain for Plant. BILLY JOE SAUNDERS has quashed rumours he quit against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez during their world title clash in May. The 32-year-old's team threw the towel in during the eighth round after the Mexican icon, 31, inflicted multiple eye fractures on the Brit. 1Canelo produced a superb uppercut to end Saunders' night Speaking to iFL TV, Saunders admitted: "If I wanted to go down on one knee with a broken eye socket, it could've easily been done. "I went over a minute and still carried on… Anybody who knows me personally knows that's not in me, ever." Saunders suffered his gruesome injury after Canelo produced a brutal uppercut in the eighth round, ending his unbeaten record. The defeated champ came under fire afterwards for slamming Daniel Dubois the previous December for suffering a similar injury. Saunders and Canelo were fighting for the unified super-middleweight world title and the latter was the favourite before the bout. The Brit's recent comments come after rival Chris Eubank Jr claimed Saunders quit against Canelo - despite suffering a serious injury. Most read in BoxingLive...
CHRIS EUBANK JR has reassured a rematch with Billy Joe Saunders 'WILL be made' and slammed his rival for 'quitting' against Canelo Alvarez. Eubank Jr has not ruled out the purse being met, but insisted he is in the driving seat as he grows confident in finally securing a shot at revenge. He said: "That fight would generate a lot of money, it's not absurd, but I'm not the business guy. "The fight will be made, Saunders has nowhere else to go. I'm literally the only person he can fight. "Eddie [Hearn] was talking in an interview the other day saying, basically trying to sell...

CANELO ALVAREZ saw his undisputed title fight with Caleb Plant collapse as he wanted to keep his £28million guarantee - even against a replacement opponent. And that is was ultimately led to negotiations between the two super-middleweights breaking down. Plant told ESPN: "One that is absurd: If I get injured or sick then he gets a late replacement for the same amount of guaranteed money, but if he gets sick or injured, then we gotta wait for him. The 31-year-old icon’s manager and trainer Eddy Reynoso plus promoter Eddie Hearn have been dealing with Plant’s representatives from Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions. Alvarez previously announced that he aims to have four fights this year. He stopped Turkey's mandatory WBC contender Avni Yildirim after knocking him down in the third round back in February. Then in May he thrilled a sold-out crowd in Texas at the AT&T Stadium when he beat then-WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders....

But Plant, 28, instead focussed on Alvarez's past fights against Mayweather, Lara and Golovkin, all of which ended in defeat or controversy. He told The Athletic: “He’s been fighting, you know, these UK level guys, European-type guys, and that’s cool. "But as far as him fighting the top, Floyd, Lara, Triple-G, he’s 1-3. “So, at the end of the day, he’s just a man, and he’s looked human in some of these bigger fights as well. "As far...

WBO champion, Billy Joe Saunders, has a massive chance to defeat Canelo Alvarez in a super middleweight title unification fight on May 8. Being the undefeated world champion, ‘Superb’ Saunders can rightfully enjoy some advantages over the P4P king. But, the veteran doesn’t seem to have a lot of believers in his corner. Akin to him, Canelo Alvarez is also a legitimate veteran and has won championships in four distinct divisions. He will stand as the favorite against Saunders. Although it doesn’t take away anything of Saunders’s abilities, several analysts have pointed out how the Brit can fall short in front of the Mexican prodigy. Veteran trainer, Dave Coldwell, connected with Fred Talks Fighting and shared his opinion on the upcoming super-middleweight title unification battle. While he hailed Billy Joe Saunders’s impeccable achievements, Coldwell also doubted him against a mighty Canelo Alvarez. Speaking on it he said, “You don’t just need elite level attributes and you need to be able to use those attributes and you also need to have the mentality as well. Billy Joe Saunders takes...
Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders will lock horns on May 8, putting all the three super-middleweight titles (WBC, WBA, and WBO) at stake. While Saunders will also put his undefeated record on the line, he will look for the opportunity to become the second man after Floyd Mayweather to defeat Alvarez. That said, it would demand a lot from the WBO titleholder and in that case, Saunders will also have the risk of losing his championship. But, fellow IBF champion, Caleb Plant, has some valuable advice for the Brit. Akin to Saunders, Plant is also waiting to get his shot at Canelo Alvarez and has recently previewed an in-ring collision between Alvarez and Saunders. Speaking with Boxing Social, ‘Sweet Hands’ said, “I think a bit more stiff, I think he’s got a quite a bit more attributes physical attributes to him. Whether hand, speed, foot speed, boxing ability, boxing IQ. But again, you know, he said, it’s up to him to go in there and implement those things. And it’s up to him to not allow Canelo...

Joshua reiterated to Sky Sports that he wants the fight with Fury. And his promoter, Eddie Hearn, has said repeatedly that a deal is close. We’ll see. In the meantime, Fury told ESPN the long layoff isn’t doing him any good. “I’ve been so inactive,” Fury said. “I’ve been out for over a year. By the time I fight again, looking at maybe June if this Joshua fight happens, that will be a year and six months out of the ring, which is not ideal preparation for any superfight.” Fury and Joshua...

Turkish super middleweight, Avni Yildirim, has the chance to beat P4P king Canelo Alvarez and become the WBC and WBA champion on February 27. The two are slated to lock horns in a main-event clash, promoted by Matchroom Boxing. However, Tony Bellew doesn’t see ‘Mr. Robot’ overpower the Mexican giant. According to the former British boxer, Canelo Alvarez will bag a lopsided win against Yildirim, before the WBO 168 lbs champion Billy Joe Saunders enters the ride. Speaking on Talk The Talk, Bellew shared his opinion on the upcoming super middleweight fight and akin to most of the fans, he billed his favor for Alvarez. “The first thing is Yildirim is at absolutely at it, he is going to get tanked. And tanked like you haven’t seen before because Canelo is just a beast and when you are competing at the levels. Yildirim is getting tanked, as simple as that, and then the minute the tanking ends, Billy Joe is going to get in,” said Tony Bellew.
