The congressional investigation into the January 6 attack has reportedly obtained records of phone numbers associated with one of former President Trump's sons, Eric Trump, and Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is engaged to Donald Trump Jr.  It represents a fresh escalation into probe as the select committee for the first time targeted a member of Trump's family.   The phone records were subpoenaed from communication companies, multiple sources told CNN.  Earlier the committee issued subpoenas to some of Donald Trump's top lawyers - including Rudy Giuliani - who were central to his unsuccessful attempt to overturn last year's election defeat. The House of Representatives committee demanded that Giuliani, and his assistant Boris Epshteyn, as well as Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis hand over documents and sit for depositions on Feb. 8. Its chairman Bennie Thompson said: 'The four individuals we've subpoenaed today advanced unsupported theories about election fraud, pushed efforts to overturn the election results, or were in direct contact with the former president about attempts to stop the counting of electoral votes.' The committee said it was seeking records and testimony from...
A new nasal spray treatment may be able to give high-risk people immunity from COVID-19 for a short period of time. The treatment, under development by scientists at the University of Helsinki, in Finland, has shown an ability to block coronavirus infection for up to eight hours in lab studies. It hasn't yet been tested in humans and the lab studies are not yet peer reviewed. This nasal spray is intended for use by immunocompromised patients and others with severe vulnerabilities to Covid. It works by blocking the virus from replicating in the nose and, in lab studies, has performed well against all variants - unlike popular monoclonal antibody treatments that are less effective against Omicron. While the treatment can't replace vaccines, it can provide additional protection for those who need the extra immune system boost and may be a basis for other future treatments. Schools across Connecticut have reported several incidents of alleged hoax threats that forced schools to enact stricter security measures, lockdowns and, in some cases, led local police to make arrests. Connecticut police believe that the threats across schools in Greenwich, Hamden, Danbury, Trumball, Norwalk, New Haven, West Haven and Stamford — while seemingly unrelated to one another — appear to be “copycat” incidents circulating through social media. The social media trend is allegedly encouraging students to post anonymous hate threats online in an effort to get out of school, according to police officials that have been investigating the matter, CT Insider reported. “I do believe they are copycat incidents,” said Brian Foley, an assistant to Connecticut’s public safety commissioner, told reporters. “It’s not like one ring of people that are spreading [the threats] out all over the place,” he continued, according to CT Insider. Foley did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment. This myriad of threats surfaced right ahead of the anniversary of the Sandy Hook Massacre, which occurred on Dec. 14, 2012. (RELATED: On 8-Year...

Joe Biden, whose son was an Iraqi war veteran, will on Thursday use his first Veterans Days address as president to announce a push to better look after troops who suffered ill health after exposure to hazardous materials. Biden himself has long contended that his son Beau's brain tumor was linked to burn pits used by troops to dispose of garbage.  Senior White House officials said the plans would make it easier for veterans to prove that they were exposed to hazardous materials and would include efforts to find links between exposure and potentially deadly diseases. The issue is intensely personal for Biden.   The younger Biden deployed from October 2008 until September 2009 as a captain in the Delaware Army National Guard.  In 2013, he was diagnosed with a tumor, and he died two years later at age 46.  'He volunteered to join the National Guard at age 32 because he thought he had an obligation to go,' said Biden in 2019.  'And because of exposure to burn pits, in my view, I can't prove it yet, he came back...
