latest news at page 1:
AUSTIN, Texas — Law enforcement intercepted 14 illegal immigrants at U.S.-Mexico border who were on the terrorist watch list, a former top official said, more than the four stops that the Department of Homeland Security had disclosed. U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped 14 noncitizens who were named on the terror watchlist and tried to sneak into the United States between October 2020 through August 2021, one month short of the entire fiscal year 2021, according to recently retired Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott. Scott disclosed the number during a panel discussion at a Texas Public Policy Foundation conference in Austin this month and in follow-up conversation with the Washington Examiner. The terror watchlist stops in 2021 are significant because they are higher than previous years. Customs and Border Protection, the parent agency to the Border Patrol, declined to comment or release data on terror watchlist encounters. Last summer, Scott told agents in a farewell address that the agency was encountering people on the terror watch list “at a level we have never seen before.” The 14 people he referenced were...
President Joe Biden could be getting some new neighbors, if one state senator gets his way. A legislator in Pennsylvania is pushing a bill to transport illegal immigrants in the Keystone State to Delaware, the president's home state. Mario Scavello, a Republican, filed a memorandum for the legislation, which takes inspiration from a previous proposal in Florida. SUPER BOWL CHAMPION ARRESTED AFTER 100-PLUS MPH CHASE Scavello also invited his fellow state lawmakers to back the proposal. "In the very near future, I intend to introduce legislation to address the influx of illegal immigrants being relocated into Pennsylvania," Scavello wrote. "This legislation is in response to many news reports and many concerned citizens who have reached out to my office regarding the relocation of illegal immigrants into their communities in the past, now and in the future." The president has been subjected to harsh criticism regarding his handling of the southern border crisis, and Scavello's efforts are simply the latest in Republican-led backlash. The Biden administration has struggled to address the southern border's...
Biden administration lawyers are due in court on Wednesday to defend their use of a Trump-era immigration restriction that has led to more than a million migrants being expelled at the US-Mexico border. The Biden administration says the use of Title 42 public health protections are essential to stem the entry of COVID-19 into the country.  But human rights campaigners say its use deprives arrivals of their right to claim asylum and offers no public health benefit when the coronavirus is already widespread.  In September, a federal court in Washington, DC, issued a injunction barring the Biden administration from using the measure to expel families. However, that was overturned on appeal. Campaigners return to the appeals court on Wednesday where they will argue that they have documented thousands of murders, kidnappings, sexual assaults, and other forms of violence against expelled migrants. A truck driver bolted as Texas law enforcement discovered 28 undocumented immigrants stuffed into the cab of his semi-truck - just 600 miles from the Mexican border. The Texas Department of Public Safety and investigators with the Laredo Police Department pulled over the big rig, driven by Dartavious Raytrell Dixon, 24, of Houston, last Tuesday.  In footage of the incident captured on law enforcement dashcam, he can be seen opening the passenger-side door of the cab and bolting down the highway in Laredo as an officer approaches the driver's side. Officers quickly catch up to him.   Scroll down for video Dartavious Raytrell Dixon, 24, was charged with 27 counts of smuggling a person, one count of evading police and one count of smuggling a minor on January 11 Dixon can be seen running from the cab of his truck after he is pulled over by police with 28 migrants stuffed into the cab of his truck Twenty-eight migrants - six women, one minor and 21 men - were found stuffed inside the vehicle It is unclear whether the migrants were...
by Bethany Blankley   More than 50,000 illegal immigrants released into the U.S. by Immigration and Customs Enforcement failed to report to their deportation proceedings during a five-month period analyzed last year, according to a report provided by the Department of Homeland Security to U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin. The report also states that ICE doesn’t have court information on more than 40,000 individuals it’s supposed to prosecute. “Between March and August 2021, as a result of the Biden Administration’s failed border policies, over 270,000 illegal aliens have been dispersed into the United States with little chance for removal,” Johnson said in an announcement accompanying the report, which didn’t include data from the other seven months of the year. Over the same time period, “over 50,000 illegal aliens – more than half of the aliens released into the interior of the United States under a Notice to Report (NTR) – failed to appear to begin deportation proceedings,” the DHS report states. The data was provided to Johnson, who sits on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, in response to a letter he...
Martin Luther King, Jr.’s wife, Coretta Scott King, once declared that barring illegal aliens from taking jobs in the United States is necessary to “stopping … the undercutting of American jobs and living standards.” In 1991, as a group of Republican and Democrat Senators sought to eliminate fines for U.S. employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens, Scott King joined forces with a coalition of black American and Hispanic advocacy organizations to urge against such a plan. Former Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) led the effort in Congress while co-sponsors included then-Sens. John McCain (R-AZ), Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Arlen Specter (R-PA), and Jeff Bingaman (D-NM). Their plan, as proposed, would have eliminated the fines that the federal government is allowed to slap employers with when they are found to be employing illegal aliens over American citizens and legal immigrants. Hatch and Kennedy claimed that the fines had spurred workforce discrimination, which opponents said was exaggerated. A similar plan was introduced in the House, sponsored by Reps. Edward Roybal (D-CA), Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Barbara Boxer (D-CA), and John Lewis (D-GA), among others. At...
More than 20 illegal immigrants were found in a Texas motel where rooms were being used as "stash houses." Pennsylvania's Republican-led state senate has plans to put forth a bill that would divert flights carrying migrants across the U.S. to President Biden's home state of Delaware.  The bill would implement a 'transportation program' to address the 'unauthorized relocation' of undocumented migrants to Pennsylvania.  'If the federal government is not willing to provide extra dollars to communities that have experienced increased strain on their healthcare systems, increased number of students in school districts and education costs and other services within our communities, then they shouldn't be forced to take on more illegal immigrants and the additional financial responsibility,' state Sen. Mario Scavello of Mount Pocono wrote in a memo announcing the legislation.  'How many illegal immigrants has the President relocated to his own home state of Delaware? If it is good enough for Pennsylvania, then why not redirect the relocation to Delaware.'  Biden's home residence in Wilmington, Delaware  Scavello added that the legislation will be modeled after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announcing that he intended to bus unlawful migrants flown into his state to Delaware.  The Republican governor warned in...

A county judge in Texas dealt a blow to Governor Greg Abbott's controversial 'Operation Lone Star' after ruling his national guard's apprehension of an illegal immigrant unconstitutional Thursday.  Operation Lone Star was created by Abbott amidst a wave of illegal immigrants from Central America crossing the US-Mexico border. It deploys law enforcement in areas human and drug smugglers are known to frequent.  The ruling could see the initiative stifled with attorneys saying that it could open a path for other immigrants to challenge their detention.  Judge Jan Soifer ruled in favor of Jesus Alberto Guzman Curipoma, an Ecuadorian engineer arrested in September and charged with criminal trespassing.   Angelica Cogliano, Curipoma's lawyer, said that Operation Lone Star was unconstitutional because it tries to supersede federal immigration law.   Governor Greg Abbott's (pictured) controversial Operation Lone Star came into question after an arrest that allegedly happened under the program was deemed unconstitutional Thursday A judge ruled that a man arrested for illegally crossing the border under the law was superceding federal immigration policy and therefor illegal RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next...
California Gov. Gavin Newsom proposed making his state the first in the country to extend universal healthcare to all low-income residents, including illegal immigrants, starting January 2024. The Medicaid initiative is part of the Democrat's proposed $213 billion California Blueprint plan to combat the state's "existential threats," including the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, homelessness, cost of living, and public safety. Embed: CALIFORNIA CONSIDERING INSANE PLAN TO DOUBLE ITS (ALREADY HIGH) TAXES "We said we were going to do it. We said it was going to take a few years, but we're committed to doing it," he said during a press conference on Monday. "It means full-scope Medi-Cal, including long-term care, IHSS, behavior health to all low-income Californians." An analysis published by the University of California, Berkeley's Labor Center projected about 3.2 million Californians would be uninsured in 2022. About 1.2 million of them are assumed to be illegal immigrants, and most of the rest are eligible for some form of healthcare coverage in the state. One estimate said it would cost about $2.4 billion a year...
Rep. Thomas Tiffany (R-WI-07) and Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI-08) joined Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ-08) in demanding answers from the Biden administration regarding the use of COVID funds to house illegal immigrants. Tiffany said, “Reports show that Biden transferred funds from COVID testing to cover the cost of housing illegal immigrants.” He continued saying that Americans deserve to know why President Biden is not putting them first. A Pennsylvania Republican candidate for governor claims secret flights are carrying illegal immigrants into the state.  Lou Barletta said a flight landed at Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown last Thursday and that others arrived at Scranton a week earlier.  He posted images of what he said were chartered airplanes that had taken off from El Paso, Texas, and arrived at Scranton on Christmas day.  Barletta accused the Biden administration of playing games with the safety of people in Pennsylvania. 'The incredible secrecy and disregard for Pennsylvanians continues,' he said.  'First, we had to discover for ourselves that illegal immigrants were being shipped into Northeast Pennsylvania on at least four flights.  'But then when people demanded information, the flights were shifted to the Lehigh Valley and they just hoped no one would notice.' A photo shared by Rep. Lou Barletta apparently shows an evening flight of illegal immigrants arriving at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport Barletta, who is running for governor of Pennsylvania, said the flights showed the Biden administration was playing games with the safety of people in the state Barletta...
After previous reports of "ghost flights" of illegal immigrants who were flown to metro New York and parts of Florida, recent images captured by a former Pennsylvania congressman appear to show the same tactic being employed in the Poconos. On "Fox News Primetime", host Lawrence Jones shared photos captured by ex-Rep. Lou Barletta on Christmas night at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport in Avoca, Pennsylvania that allegedly show surreptitious flights arriving from El Paso, Texas. Barletta said there were two such flights that arrived in President Biden's birthplace that evening, according to the UK Daily Mail. When the Biden administration purportedly directed similar flights to Jacksonville, Florida last year, Florida Republican Ron DeSantis considered redirecting the illegal immigrants to Biden's home state of Delaware. "I think it’s quite obvious they don’t want the American people to see what they are doing, which is interesting to me because they don’t seem to care that our border is wide open," Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren told Jones on "Fox News Primetime." #4 "Obama Palooza" made the #4 video from 2021. With the Omicron variant emerging, it's important to remember when Barack Obama ignored the dangers of the Delta variant to throw a flashy, maskless, three-day birthday extravaganza like the affluent aristocracy he is. #3 Coming in at #3 is “Medical Fascism.” In July, the CDC threatened to mandate masks for vaccinated people while millions of illegal immigrants stream across our southern border — most of them unvaccinated.               by Bethany Blankley   Republican U.S. senators are keeping the pressure on the Biden administration over its immigration policies, demanding answers from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on the number of Afghan evacuees in the U.S. and their vetting process, as well as information about foreign nationals in the country who have overstayed their visas. They raise concerns about Mayorkas not providing information to Congress, suggesting his reason for not doing so is political and related to the Democrats’ plan to give amnesty to roughly 6.5 million illegal immigrants as the ongoing border crisis continues. Republican Sens. James Lankford of Oklahoma and Josh Hawley of Missouri are the latest to demand answers of the administration, after many others, including Hawley, called on Mayorkas to follow federal law in reporting back to Congress. Previous letters submitted to administration officials, including Mayorkas, demand answers related to the vetting process of Afghan evacuees in the U.S. and the number of immigrants crossing the U.S. border illegally. One DHS report owed to Congress relates to the immigration status of Afghan evacuees, including the number...
Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz criticized President Biden's "disastrous" immigration policies Thursday on "Hannity," saying "every state is truly a border state." DR. OZ: Folks here are concerned already about the immigration issues because I know they use social services, and it also speaks to the broken covenant between Americans and the government. We obey the law, we pay our taxes. The government secures our border. Where [there is] porous border, not only do we get illegal immigrants, we support cartels that are human trafficking and they're bringing opiates across the border as we've heard from two prior guests this evening. So every state is truly a border state, as I tweeted out, and I think these middle-of-the-night flights Wilkes-Barre Scranton airport are really a problem. It's not whether ICE or Health and Human Services is responsible for the flights. It's the reality that these people become the responsibility of every local community, every local government — and Pennsylvanians deserve answers. … The first thing, when you walk into an operating room as a surgeon, that's what I do...
Immigration and Customs Enforcement denied the agency helped charter several flights for illegal immigrants, even as a Republican lawmaker seeks answers from the Department of Homeland Security. The agency denied involvement in organizing flights that landed at the Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport on Dec. 11, 17, and 25, according to the Times Tribune. A spokeswoman from ICE suggested the flights may have been chartered by another agency and denied they belonged to them. GOP Rep. Dan Meuser is demanding answers after the administration sent flights of migrants to Pennsylvania in December A Republican Pennsylvania lawmaker is demanding answers from the administration after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) chartered flights to send at least 130 migrants to Joe Biden's hometown of Scranton. 'I am extremely concerned by recent reports that the federal government has flown illegal immigrants to the Wilkes Barre-Scranton International Airport (AVP),' Representative Dan Meuser from Pennsylvania wrote to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and ICE Acting Director Tae Johnson. 'It is my understanding that a total of 130 immigrants, 118 minors and 12 adults, arrived aboard an iAero charter flight on Friday, December 17 and were subsequently transported on buses from a private hangar,' the Republican congressman added in his letter last week. 'This flight seems to have occurred without airport officials receiving notice or a passenger manifest.' A former Pennsylvania lawmaker now running for governor, Lou Barletta, suggested the December 17 chartered flight could have carried as many as 180 illegal immigrants. Barletta said Sunday that there were...
YUMA, Ariz. – Illegal immigrants regularly use Uber to travel from the border to destinations within the interior of the United States, two drivers in the border town of Yuma, Arizona, told Fox News.   One driver said the riders confirmed to him that they were in the U.S. illegally. Another said he deduced their immigration status based on the circumstances, such as getting picked up with bags alongside large groups in remote locations near the border with destinations at hotels. Fox News granted both anonymity so they could speak freely. Uber driver tells Fox News about picking up illegal immigrants "in the middle of nowhere." (Matt Leach/Fox Digital) "I just will get a notification of a pickup, head down to the location and there will be a group of 20 plus immigrants standing on the corner, waiting for Ubers," one driver told Fox News. Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush appeared on Fox & Friends Monday morning to discuss Texas state efforts to build a border wall and floated the idea that private landowners are asking if they can shoot at illegal immigrants under trespassing laws that are being broken. The nephew of 43rd President George W. Bush and candidate for Texas Attorney General mentioned shooting firearms at illegal immigrants as a means to show how dire the situation is. “I just wrapped up a week-long tour of the border from El Paso to McAllen and some landowners are asking can I shoot? Can I shoot to basically withstand the amount of surge that we are seeing?” he noted. “Of course, we want a more peaceful approach to this but building walls work.” “Do you mean can I shoot?” Steve Doocy asked. “Can I use — have a firearm to protect my family or what do you mean by that?” “That is correct,” Bush replied before making a not-so-subtle reference to a famous phrase put into the political discourse by his grandfather, former President George...
How much are migrants trying to enter the United States illegally willing to pay? An alleged border smuggler gave Fox News an idea of just how much the risky operation is worth. The Reynosa, Mexico, man revealed a few quotes through a translator. "If you want to go to Houston … it depends on if you can walk or take a trailer for a vehicle. Trailer is between $5,000 and $7,000 for a person," he told Fox News' Griff Jenkins after estimating the lower cost of getting just over the border — up to $1,500 per person. "Trailer is much better and more secure because it's a long way to walk." BORDER CRISIS CONTINUES, NOVEMBER ENCOUNTERS UP 140% OVER SAME TIME LAST YEAR It can take around eight hours per walk if someone opts to walk over three days, so the trailer is the safer option, he added. YUMA, Arizona – Local law enforcement officials describe themselves as overwhelmed after a surge of undocumented immigrants passed through one border city. Last week, more than 6,000 people crossed through Yuma. Hundreds of undocumented immigrants are crossing through a gap in the unfinished border wall in Yuma each day. The sheriff’s office, the Arizona National Guard and families in Yuma are all concerned about the unprecedented number of people crossing illegally. "The best way I can describe the border right now is chaos. Absolute chaos," said Major Eben Bratcher, the operations chief of the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office. Col. Matthew Stubbs said the surge of immigrants is the largest he's seen in his career. "This is going on 24 hours a day," adds Yuma resident Dennis Cook. YUMA, ARIZ., AT BREAKING POINT OVER ASYLUM SEEKERS, OFFICIALS SAY Since October of this year, Customs and Border Protection reported close to 22,000 encounters in the Yuma Sector. A group of House Republicans sent a letter Wednesday to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Administrator David Pekoske demanding answers as to why migrants are being allowed to fly without proper identification. The letter, first obtained by the Daily Caller, was spearheaded by Texas Rep. Lance Gooden. In the letter, the lawmakers ask Pekoske a list of questions about TSA possibly helping migrants travel without any identification after the Daily Caller News Foundation obtained an email that revealed the national vetting center used by TSA processed over 42,000 non-citizens and non-U.S. nationals requesting document validation between the first of the year and mid-October. The lawmakers are continuing to say the improper vetting process poses major national security risks. “The Transportation Security Administration is putting millions of Americans flying for Christmas at risk by allowing unknown, and potentially dangerous, immigrants to board commercial aircraft. The American people deserve transparency and to know U.S. national security and their personal safety are not being put at risk,” Gooden told the Daily Caller before sending the letter. DeSantis also proposed stiff financial penalties for private companies that worked alongside the federal government to bring said illegal immigrants into the state. “Any private agency that brought illegal immigrants into the state will owe the state restitution,” DeSantis said in the remarks. A portion of the proposed budget states: The Freedom First Budget includes $8 million to implement a program to assist the state’s efforts to protect against harms resulting from illegal immigration, and may include the transport of unauthorized aliens located within the state to other states within the United States of America, or the District of Columbia. The Miami Herald reported on Friday that it remains unclear how DeSantis’ proposal would work. The proposal awaits action from the Florida legislature, which is on hiatus until January. The legislature would need to approve the funding as well as the details. During a Friday press conference in Jacksonville, DeSantis said, “You’re having 200,000 people illegally enter every month. That’s a medium-sized American city every month coming in illegally.”

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis detailed the toll that illegal immigration takes on his state's citizens Friday on "Tucker Carlson Tonight." BIDEN CBP HOSTS SEMINAR ON 'UNCONSCIOUS BIAS' AMID BORDER CRISIS RON DESANTIS: …[A]ny of these contractors [who] are facilitating Biden's illegal policies by bringing people in the Florida - oftentimes flying in at two o'clock in the morning with no notice to the state - anyone who's doing that forfeits the ability to have contracts with state and local government in the state of Florida. And they're going to be responsible for providing restitution to the state of Florida for every single person [whom] they bring. Because when they dump somebody, a lot of costs end up being borne by the state in the future, whether that's education, health care, whether that's the criminal justice system. Unfortunately, we had somebody brought from Biden [who] murdered somebody in Jacksonville just a few weeks ago. On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Jose Diaz-Balart Reports,” Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) argued that work permits for illegal immigrants are needed “at a time of supply chain shortages.” Khanna stated, “First of all, Jose, this process is broken. One individual, a Senate parliamentarian, shouldn’t be able to overrule what President Biden ran on, what House Democrats and Senate Democrats ran on. This is such common sense. We’re not talking about a path to citizenship. What we’re saying is people who are in this country, who are working, who are paying taxes, they ought to be able to have a work permit. This is actually what President George W. Bush proposed. And we need it at a time of supply chain shortages. So we will continue. More than 6 million illegal immigrants in the United States would be granted amnesty and allowed to obtain government benefits by House Democrats’ Build Back Better Act, according to a review by the Congressional Budget Office. The CBO concluded in November that approximately 6.5 million noncitizens who live in the U.S. largely as a result of illegally crossing the southern border before January 2011 would be granted parole and immediately go from being unlawfully present to lawfully present. The proposal would be the largest-ever amnesty, double the size of the one that went through during the Reagan administration in 1986. The term amnesty refers to being pardoned, in this case for the federal offense of illegally entering the country between ports of entry and residing in the U.S. without permission. “Many of those parolees would subsequently receive lawful permanent resident (LPR) status. A few million other people, most of whom are already in the United States, would gain LPR status through the provisions ... or as immediate relatives of those who gain LPR status under the bill,” the CBO stated...
AUSTIN, Texas -- Luz Rivas remembers seeing the word on her mother's residency card as a child: "alien."In the stark terms of the government, it signaled her mother was not yet a citizen of the U.S. But to her young daughter, the word had a more personal meaning. Even though they were going through the naturalization process, it meant the family did not belong."I want other children of immigrants, like me, to not feel the same way I did, that my family did, when we saw the word 'alien'," said Rivas, now an assemblywoman in the California Legislature. The Democratic lawmaker sought to retire the term and this year authored a bill - since signed into law - that replaces the use of "alien" in state statutes with other terms such as "noncitizen" or "immigrant." Her effort was inspired by a similar shift earlier this year by the Biden administration.Immigrants and immigrant-rights groups say the term, especially when combined with "illegal," is dehumanizing and can have a harmful effect on immigration policy. The word became a focal point of debate in several...

Posted on November 25, 2021 at 6:21 pmUpdated November 25, 2021, at 10:26 PM Faced with an increase in illegal shortcuts on the channel, the British have repeatedly expressed their desire to see France deal with this traffic more firmly. After the dramatic shipwreck on the coast , Thursday morning headlines, photo of an inflatable boat loaded with immigrants heading out to sea a few meters away from a French police car can only reinforce this sense of impatience. “It simply came to our notice then. This is not surprising, but it is a reminder of how vulnerable these vulnerable people are at the hands of kidnappers, ”Home Minister Priti Patel told the House of Commons. When repeatedly asked how the government could put pressure on France, the Minister responded that in conjunction with Prime Minister Boris Johnson, a number of concessions had been made in Paris, such as technical mechanisms, joint patrols and an agreement to define conditions. For return migrants or for use with detectors and radars. Faced with “this is a global migration crisis” he argued that...
French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin has claimed that there may be as many as 700,000 migrants living in France who do not have valid residency papers. The French interior minister claimed that the figure was, in fact, quite low for a major European country, noting the illegal immigrant population of the United Kingdom was estimated at between 1 and 1.5 million. “France has far fewer illegal immigrants than most of the major countries in Europe, starting with Great Britain: between 1 and 1.5 million against 600,000 to 700,000 for us,” Darmanin told French media this week, newspaper La Provence reports. Exact figures for illegal immigrants are not known, but Darmanin’s statistics are likely based on the State Medical Aid (AME) system which gives healthcare to illegal immigrants living in French territory. In September, a report noted that France intended to spend as much as €1 billion (£860 million/$1.17 billion) on the AME system in 2022, up from the previous budget of  €990 (£850 million/$1.162 billion) from this year. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is introducing a measure to prevent taxpayer dollars from being spent in settlement payments to illegal immigrants stemming from litigation against the federal government. Boebert said in a statement: In Biden’s America, it is better to be a criminal than a law enforcement officer. Border Patrol agents may be fired because of Biden’s vaccine mandate for federal employees, but illegal aliens get a free pass into our country and could receive a $450,000 check. For contrast, the highest-paid Border Patrol agents make less than half that in yearly salary after 20 years of service. I’ve had enough of the Biden regime’s madness, so I introduced the We’re Not Paying You to Break Our Laws Act to restore sanity and the rule of law. We should be putting Americans first, not criminals! Boebert introduced the “We’re Not Paying You to Break Our Laws Act” on Monday after the Wall Street Journal reported last month that the Biden administration was in talks to give $450,000 to immigrant families separated under Trump. Although President Biden told reporters these payments are “not gonna happen,” Biden’s Deputy...
moreby Steven Camarota   The budget reconciliation package pushed by Democrats creates a new expanded child tax credit (CTC) that would pay illegal immigrants some $10.5 billion next year. All immigrants with children are eligible, regardless of how they got here and whether their children are U.S.-born. This includes the roughly 600,000 unaccompanied minors and persons in family units stopped at the border in FY2021 and released into the country pending a hearing. Cash welfare to illegal immigrants is not just costly; it also encourages more illegal immigration. Although it is referred to as a “refundable credit,” the new CTC, like the old additional child tax credit (ACTC) it replaces, pays cash to low-income families who do not pay any federal income tax. The new program significantly increases the maximum cash payment from $1,400 per child to $3,600 for children under 6, and to $3,000 for children ages 6 to 17. After 2022, the maximum payment would be $2,000 per child, but advocates hope the much larger payments will be extended. In an analysis conducted in October, my colleague Karen Zeigler and I...
moreby Debra Heine   The Biden administration has deputized non-profit groups to move illegal migrants across the nation, allowing the charities to put them up in nice hotels and give them instructions on how to avoid capture. Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Texas) said Monday that a whistleblower told him about an ongoing operation in San Diego, and decided to go there to see for himself what is going on. “What I found were nonprofits that were running secretive closed-down hotels, the four point Sheraton Sea World, a Wyndham, a Ramada Inn,” he revealed on Fox and Friends. Gooden said that he witnessed buses unloading about 100 illegal immigrants in about an hour at one hotel, and they were welcomed by the charity “with open arms.” Once the migrants are processed, and tested for COVID, Gooden said they are each given a packet, which detail how they can get past the TSA at the airport without any identification, as well as how to enroll their children in American schools. “It’s encouraging illegal immigration!” Gooden declared. Currently, over a thousand migrants are pushing their way...
moreby Bethany Blankley   The Biden administration won’t give members of Congress access to flight manifests of illegal immigrants flown into states from the southern border, Florida Rep. Kat Cammack says. Those entering the U.S. illegally, violating federal law, are instead being flown into the interior by the U.S. government paid for by taxpayers, a “slap in the face” to all Americans, she says. “When you look at the flights that are going on, the FAA has refused to give members of Congress like myself and my colleagues access to the manifest,” she told “Fox & Friends Weekend” Sunday. “They are covering this up at the discretion of the administration, and they will not give us information of who is coming in and when they’re bringing them in. And of course, they have to do it in the dead of night because like [U.S. House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi, you pass things in the dead of night because you don’t want the American people to know what’s in it. Just like this, [the Biden] administration is flying people into our communities in the...
During Friday’s Republican Address, Rep. Dan Meuser (R-PA) stated that business owners “feel that the federal government is working against them.” And “One perfect example is the fact that their businesses are being hit with vaccine mandates. At the same time, the Biden administration is releasing untested, unvaccinated illegals over our southern border, into our communities.” Meuser said, “Recently, I participated in the Small Business Committee’s Veterans’ Small Business Roundtable in Washington led by Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer and with the participation from Leader Kevin McCarthy and Whip Steve Scalise, we all sat, spent time, and learned about the issues these veteran business owners face and how we can provide them a business environment in which they can succeed. Because that’s government’s role, to create that environment. Hearing the stories of how our American heroes made it from combat to Main Street and their experiences of creating jobs and enriching their communities was truly inspiring. But, the general consensus was the same, both with the veterans and on the Main Streets throughout my district: Taxes, mandates, inflation, energy costs, product...
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Wednesday he would send illegal immigrants to Delaware if President Joe Biden didn’t secure the southern border. DeSantis was responding to a question about secret “migrant flights” sent to Florida from areas near the southern border. White House press secretary Jen Psaki previously said Oct. 19 it should be “no surprise” to Americans that the Biden administration is flying migrants to Florida and New York from the southern border. Two Arizona men are facing charges after police said a traffic stop in Pennsylvania resulted in the discovery of a large amount of cash related to illegal immigrant trafficking. Erik Guzman, 26, and Martinez Hernandez Gerado, 30, both of Phoenix, were arrested following the incident in Bethel Township (Berks County) around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Troopers with PSP Jonestown saw a 2008 Nissan Armada driving with a temporary Arizona license plate, state police said. They observed "numerous signs of criminal activity," and the driver agreed to a search of the vehicle, according to state police. The search yielded a "bulk" of cash, state police said. The men admitted to receiving the cash in exchange for trafficking illegal immigrants from Arizona to northern states, according to state police. Both men were charged with dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities and transported to Reading central processing. The investigation is ongoing.
President Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better Act,” a filibuster-proof $1.75 trillion budget reconciliation package, would give $800 million worth of cash payments to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens who were recently released into the United States interior, a new analysis states. As Breitbart News previously reported, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) analyzed the cost to American taxpayers if Biden’s expanded Child Tax Credit for illegal aliens was extended for at least another year as part of the reconciliation package. Initially, the CIS analysis found that the cost to provide the tax credits to illegal aliens with children would cost about $80 billion over the course of a decade, or about $8 billion every year. CIS Director of Research Steven Camarota now writes that the cost to taxpayers will be even more because the roughly 500,000 to 600,000 illegal aliens released into the U.S. interior this year would be eligible to receive $800 million in cash payments as a result of the tax credits. Camarota writes: In an October analysis, we estimated that illegal immigrants would receive $8.2 billion...
Democrats added a provision to the reconciliation bill that would expand humanitarian parole to cover illegal immigrants already living in the U.S., according to the legislation. Congressional Democrats previously tried to pass amnesty through the Build Back Better Act and by amending the registry date in the Immigration and Nationality Act so illegal immigrants can apply for green cards, according to the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS). Expanding parole under the reconciliation package is the Democrats’ third attempt at passing an amnesty provision for millions of illegal immigrants living in the U.S. “Parole is normally a status given to aliens seeking entry into the United States,” CIS Resident Fellow in Law and Policy Andrew Arthur told the DCNF on Friday. “This parole, however, is for aliens who are currently in the United States.” BREAKING: House Rules Committee adopts text of #BuildBackBetter reconciliation bill, including immigration language providing work permits and deportation protection that will provide relief for millions of families. President Joe Biden has already made clear that reports of $450,000 settlements are 'garbage.' Several days after President Joe Biden denied a report that his administration would give large payments to families separated at the U.S.-Mexico border under former President Donald Trump, congressional Republicans are still lying about it. "As inflation soars to record highs, Biden wants to pay those who broke the law and entered our country illegally $450,000 APIECE," tweeted Florida Rep. Scott Franklin on Tuesday. "All with your tax dollars! The Radical Left wants Americans to lower their expectations while giving criminals a huge payday." On Oct. 28, the Wall Street Journal reported that the Department of Justice was negotiating a settlement with hundreds of families who were victims of Trump's immigration policies. The story cited unnamed "people familiar with the matter" to suggest some families might receive up to $450,000 per person in compensation for the previous administration's misdeeds and the psychological and physical damage they caused. Republicans and right-wing media seized on the report, dishonestly blaming...
