Statement from @wiczipedia: "With the Board\u2019s work paused and its future uncertain, and I have decided to leave DHS to return to my work in the public sphere. It is deeply disappointing that mischaracterizations of the Board became a distraction from the Department\u2019s vital work"pic.twitter.com/AG8GjoFp1i — Dustin Volz (@Dustin Volz) 1652890623 What's the background? The board had been the subject of scrutiny and ridicule for weeks since its launch as critics from across the political spectrum called it Stalinesque and compared it to the Ministry of Truth from George Orwell’s classic novel "1984." It had been launched with the stated aim of "countering misinformation related to homeland security, focused specifically on irregular migration and Russia." Though many quickly saw the scheme for what it really was: a panel of left-wing elites empowered to determine what is and what is not truthful. Jankowicz's own background added fuel to the fire. The so-called "expert" on Russian misinformation readily disseminated Trump-Russia collusion talking points from the later debunked Christopher Steele dossier in 2016. Then in 2020, she echoed baseless claims that Hunter Biden's...
The Department of Homeland Security is 'pausing' its controversial disinformation board just three weeks after it was unveiled following withering attacks from Republicans and conservative TV pundits. It was intended to combat misinformation but critics quickly homed in on the role of its chief, Nina Jankowicz, and her history fighting disinformation and extremism. In particular, they questioned her expertise after it emerged she had dismissed the 2020 discovery of Hunter Biden's laptop as being a 'Trump campaign product.' And in 2016 she spread claims about then candidate Donald Trump's links to President Vladimir Putin of Russia, which have since been debunked. Multiple sources told the Washington Post that the Department of Homeland Security decided on Monday to close its Disinformation Governance Board and that Jankowicz, 33, had drafted a resignation letter. But by the end of Tuesday she and the board had won a reprieve, although it could yet be shut down.  'Nina Jankowicz has been subjected to unjustified and vile personal attacks and physical threats,' a DHS spokesperson told The Post in a statement.  'In congressional hearings and in media interviews, the...
The Department of Homeland Security's much criticized disinformation governance board is being paused after concerns it would infringe free speech and complaints about its executive director. Less than a month after President Joe Biden's administration touted the initiative, DHS has suspended the board, pending a review, with the future of its leader, Nina Jankowicz, still undecided. BIDEN FACES PRESSURE TO 'NAME AND SHAME' FOLLOWING BUFFALO SHOOTING “Nina Jankowicz has been subjected to unjustified and vile personal attacks and physical threats,” a DHS spokesperson told the Washington Post Wednesday. “In congressional hearings and in media interviews, the Secretary has repeatedly defended her as eminently qualified and underscored the importance of the Department’s disinformation work, and he will continue to do so.” Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki couched the board as "a continuation of work that was done under the prior administration," including to counter "movement of more migrants across the border." She also addressed concerns about Jankowicz, who described stories regarding Hunter Biden's laptop as Russian disinformation. "The woman you noted has extensive experience and has done extensive work...
Has Biden actually lowered the deficit? Biden has claimed repeatedly that he lowered the deficit and has placed the U.S. on track for record deficit reduction in 2022. But the claim is highly misleading. That is because, as CNN reporter Daniel Dale explained last week, the budget deficit was already projected to fall before Biden entered office. The deficit exploded in 2020 because of short-term pandemic-related spending. But that spending was not permanent, which meant the deficit was always going to fall. Even more problematic for Biden, his policies meant deficit reduction was not as great in 2021 as it could have been without them. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated the deficit would have fallen about a half-trillion dollars more than it actually did. "So, when President Biden talks about a projected $1.5 trillion decline in the deficit this year, even if that does happen, the deficit would still be higher this year than initially projected when he took office," Dale explained.
Former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos ridiculed His Fraudulency Joe Biden and his “Disinformation Board” Friday over an absurd tweet about inflation. A little after six p.m. Friday night, probably an hour or so after the real Joe Biden had fallen asleep in front of a Murder She Wrote rerun, I’m assuming it was a White House staffer who used Biden’s verified Twitter account to spread this ridiculous lie: “You want to bring down inflation?” the tweet reads. “Let’s make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share.” Whuh? Granted, I’m no economist, but I know of no correlation between inflation and tax increases. In fact, inflation is caused primarily by the government’s wasteful spending, so… how would giving the government more money to piss away on nonsense bring down inflation? Joe Biden is the only person responsible for this crippling inflation cycle, which is about to dump us in a recession. He poured some six trillion — with a “T” — dollars into our economy, and the results have been devastating. Furthermore, if you raise taxes on corporations, those corporations...
On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt (R) stated that the Department of Homeland Security moving forward with its plans for the Disinformation Governance Board “shows how aggressive this administration is and what kind of warp speed they’ll go into to suppress people’s speech.” Schmitt said, [relevant remarks begin around 2:00] “[I]t just shows how aggressive this administration is and what kind of warp speed they’ll go into to suppress people’s speech. Because they know, the playbook’s clear, you just label stuff you don’t like as disinformation, get your partners — I mean, look what happened with the Hunter Biden laptop story. We know all that stuff is true now. We know the origins of COVID, the Wuhan lab leak…they were labeling all of that as disinformation. Fauci…the ineffectiveness of masks, if you were calling that out, they were taking you down. We can’t let this stand in this country. This is a country founded on the fundamental belief, in the First Amendment as a protection, that people can speak their...
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos asked the Biden Administration's new Disinformation Board to review the president's tweet claiming that growing inflation could be tamed by raising corporate taxes.  Joe Biden, who has faced criticism over the 40-year high rates which hit 8.3 percent, tweeted on Friday that taxing corporations more would help ease the economic strain impacting Americans.  'You want to bring down inflation? Let's make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share,' Biden tweeted. Bezos responded within hours, claiming the president was conflating two seperate issues that only amounted to misdirection, and should be held accountable by the Department of Homeland Security's Disinformation Board. 'The newly created Disinformation Board should review this tweet, or maybe they need to form a new Non Sequitur Board instead,' Bezos tweeted.  'Raising corp taxes is fine to discuss. Taming inflation is critical to discuss. Mushing them together is just misdirection.'  President Joe Biden claimed that raising corporate taxes would help tackle inflation Amazon founder Jeff Bezos said the president's claim were just misdirection and called on DHS's new Disinformation Board to review Biden's...
In this article AMZNAmazon CEO Jeff Bezos speaks during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland, Britain, November 2, 2021.Paul Ellis | ReutersAmazon founder Jeff Bezos took aim at President Joe Biden on Friday over a tweet that said inflation could be brought down by taxing wealthy corporations. Biden earlier in the day tweeted: "You want to bring down inflation? Let's make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share." Bezos, whose company has benefited from tax credits and deductions, quoted the tweet to retort: "The newly created Disinformation Board should review this tweet, or maybe they need to form a new Non Sequitur Board instead," the former CEO said, apparently referring to the Department of Homeland Security's Disinformation Governance Board. "Raising corp taxes is fine to discuss. Taming inflation is critical to discuss. Mushing them together is just misdirection." While he didn't call out Amazon specifically in that tweet, Biden has previously criticized the company's tax history. Amazon paid no federal income taxes in 2017 and 2018. The Twitter spat comes as inflation reaches levels not seen...
Miguel Medina/Getty Images The White House has come under fire for tweeting that “there was no vaccine available” against Covid-19 when President Joe Biden took office. “When President Biden took office, millions were unemployed and there was no vaccine available. In the last 15 months, the economy has created 8.3M jobs and the unemployment rate stands at 3.6% — the fastest decline in unemployment to start a President’s term ever recorded,” tweeted The White House. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) is leading an inquiry into whether President Joe Biden’s “Disinformation Governance Board” is pressuring big tech companies to increase their surveillance and censorship of conservative users, according to a letter exclusively obtained by Breitbart News. In a letter sent to the CEOs of Meta (Facebook), LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, Youtube, Snapchat, and Reddit, McMorris Rodgers asks whether Biden’s “disinformation” board has requested information about the companies’ political speech policies and if they would comply with any requests to remove political speech. The letter comes days after the attorneys general for Louisiana and Missouri sued the Biden administration for colluding with big tech to censor conservative political speech under the guise of combatting “misinformation.” The House Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member suspects Biden will use the disinformation board to increase the targeting of conservatives online. “We fully expect this will mean DHS will seek information from your company about conservative users, since President Biden has essentially identified them as political enemies,” she wrote. McMorris Rodgers called out the board’s director, Nina Jankowicz, for spreading disinformation herself, pointing toward her comments about...
Nina Jankowicz, head of the Department of Homeland Security’s new Disinformation Governance Board, spread the Alfa Bank hoax that is currently at the heart of Special Counsel John Durham’s prosecution of a Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer. On November 1, 2016, Jankowicz tweeted a Clinton tweet that included the elements of the Alfa Bank hoax, which was later discredited. Husband texted me "you have news to wake up to." Never thought it would be this. Confirms our worst fears about Trump. I am horrified. https://t.co/OHpacOKeeX — Nina Jankowicz ???????????? (@wiczipedia) November 1, 2016 The hoax was pushed by the Clinton campaign aide Jake Sullivan, who now serves as National Security Advisor under President Joe Biden. Biden’s current national security advisor was intimately involved in the activities for which Durham is now bringing indictments. Any self-respecting journalist should be demanding the @WhiteHouse and @PressSec answer questions about this. https://t.co/mOIx07VYsa — Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) February 13, 2022 Sullivan’s role has been mentioned in court filings by the Special Counsel, who is prosecuting former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sullivan for lying to the...
Kevin McCarthy said Wednesday Democrats want to control the information that Americans' are able to access with Joe Biden's new Disinformation Governance Board. 'Do they not trust Americans enough that they want to control that much of our lives?' the Republican House leader questioned during a press briefing on the new Homeland Security board. 'We watched it time and again,' McCarthy continued. 'Why would they want to control the information? Because they don't want you to know the truth.' He claimed that Democrats are trying to conceal information pushed by the right, which leftists deem are likely all conspiracies. McCarthy says this includes distracting from record-high inflation and the facts surrounding COVID-19. Republicans immediately denounced the new board, headed by so-called Russian misinformation expert Nina Jankowicz, as the dystopian 'Ministry of Truth' from George Orwell's novel 1984. 'The president's Ministry of truth is an un-American abuse of power,' McCarthy said during a press briefing with other GOP lawmakers, including pro-MAGA Representatives Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Jim Jordan of Ohio. Boebert said at the press briefing at the Capitol on...
President Biden’s DHS disinformation chief Nina Jankowicz defended Hunter Biden’s corrupt dealings with Burisma Holdings during a July 2020 book interview — calling the Biden scion, known for crack addiction and selling influence, a “foreign expert.” Hunter sat on the board of the Ukrainian Burisma Holdings company from 2014 to 2019, while Joe Biden was vice president and campaigned for president during the 2020 election cycle. Hunter was compensated $83,000 per month as a board director, which raises questions if Hunter was selling influence to his father in the Obama administration. Joe Biden and his staff have denied at least seven times that Biden has been involved in his son’s dealings. But evidence shows Joe Biden was involved in Hunter’s business affairs at least eleven times. Yet Jankowicz claimed Hunter’s business scheme was legitimate and no cause for alarm. She spoke to BuzzFeed News reporter Jane Lytvynenk. Comments begin at the 42:23 mark in the video below: The accusation is that Hunter Biden, in serving on the board of a Ukrainian company, which you know he is allowed to do, he was not the only foreign expert serving...
Conservatives who oppose the controversial Disinformation Governance Board doubt the Biden administration's claims that it is narrowly focused on foreign threats and not censorship, saying the board would then be housed by a different federal agency. The Biden administration says the Department of Homeland Security’s new disinformation board is focused on noncontroversial foreign threats that both parties agree should be combated, but conservatives are fiercely skeptical. Republicans see the board as a vessel for the government to determine what information is considered true and false and thereby censor conservative speech. Some top House Republicans are even eager to threaten a government shutdown to nix the board if necessary. ELON MUSK CRITIQUES TWITTER OVER HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP CENSORSHIP AND TRUMP-RUSSIA COLLUSION Conservatives say that if the board was genuinely focused on disinformation that directly threatens the security of the United States, including disinformation spread by foreign states such as Russia, China, and Iran or other adversaries, then the board would not be housed by Homeland Security. “They could’ve put this board in the CIA or the State Department or [the Defense...
Monday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said he was working with lawmakers to dissolve Biden’s so-called Disinformation Governance Board. The Kentucky Republican lawmaker said he opposed policing news organizations and argued determinations about “disinformation” should be left up to the public. “We’re going to shut it down,” he said. “And I’m busily getting signatures from other senators. There is a way that we can get it onto the calendar. And there is perhaps a way we can actually get a vote. It’s not very easy when the Democrats control things, but I’m going to do everything I possibly can to get a vote to defund this organization. Boy, is it any — is it not with amazement you see how far that they have come from Kennedy’s Democrat Party? This is not your grandfather’s Democrat Party anymore. So much for the marketplace of ideas. They have decided that they are going to determine what disinformation is.” “But my point to Mayorkas was this,” Paul continued. “We have a $32 million Mueller investigation to...
The head of President Joe Biden's new Disinformation Governance Board has a history of pushing now-debunked claims that there are ties between Russia and Donald Trump, old and recently resurfaced tweets reveal. Nina Jankowicz promoted several claims from Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign on Twitter, including allegations that are now being looked into by special counsel John Durham. In November 2016, Jankowicz, a Russian misinformation 'expert,' tweeted: 'Husband texted me 'you have news to wake up to.' Never thought it would be this. Confirms our worst fears about Trump. I am horrified.' She was reposting Clinton's tweet claiming 'it's time for Trump to answer serious questions about his ties to Russia,' along with a screenshot showing that the then-candidate had a 'secret service' he used to privately communicate with Putin-tied Russian Alfa Bank. 'Trump had not one, but two secret email servers to communicate with influential Russian bank. Unbelievable,' she followed up in another tweet with a link to an article by someone to whom opposition research firm Fusion GPS was feeding stories related to alleged ties between Trump's campaign...
Wilfred McClay is Professor of History at Hillsdale College and author of Land of Hope: An Invitation to the Great American Story We are living through a teachable moment. The lessons on offer are familiar ones, but in urgent need of review. The first lesson is from Ronald Reagan, the guy whom all the smart people have dismissed as passé, who taught us repeatedly, and never more memorably than when he told us that 'Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction.' The message is that freedom is fragile, perishable, ever in need of protection. We need to remember the lesson, once again. The second lesson is that the principal effort to shut down American freedom today is coming from the political left in our own country. Usually, we assume that the extinction threat will come from the outside, from some dark and unblinking enemy, like the Soviet Union or China. Or that if there is an internal threat, it surely must come from the fever swamps of the fascist right-wing. But today, we find the threat coming from elements...
House Republicans are seeking to defund the Biden administration's controversial Disinformation Governance Board, and conservative members are eager to threaten a shutdown to do so if necessary. House GOP Republicans, including the offices of firebrand Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), told the Washington Examiner that Republicans would support using the government’s annual spending bill as a way to remove funding for the Department of Homeland Security’s new disinformation board, which the GOP sees as a vessel to censor conservative speech. Some Republicans even said they would be willing to shut down the government if Democrats resist. “We should use the power of the purse to stop this disinformation craziness that the Biden administration is doing,” Republican Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) told the Washington Examiner. “But we should use that power for other things too, like securing the border, because the Democrats need us for certain things like keeping the government open, and we should use that leverage to get what we want,” Bishop said. Bishop said that congressional Republicans should be “far more aggressive” about...
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) told Breitbart News Saturday that the Biden administration is trying to “police speech” with its Disinformation Governance Board, or “DGB,” which she said “sounds a lot like the KGB from the Soviet era.” “I have been saying for years and as you said, warned back in February that what they were trying to do is to police speech,” Blackburn said. “So now that Big Tech realizes we have successfully carried out these hearings and are going to pass something on privacy, data security … Elon musk has purchased Twitter, Truth Social is out there, well, these guys can’t stand it.” As a result, the Biden administration has opted to insert itself into the conversation, she said, via the Disinformation Governance Board. “Think about this: The DGB sounds a lot like the KGB from the Soviet era, doesn’t it?” she asked, adding that members of the Biden administration are “inserting themselves, so they will make a determination of what is considered allowable and not allowable in the physical and virtual town squares.” Blackburn noted that she has already written to the Department of...

CROM CARMICHAEL: Grant, you know, I was listening to the interview as I was driving in, and the doctor is exactly right. That the evidence and the evidence has been around for a long, long time, that if you’ve gotten COVID and recovered, your immunities are stronger than if you took the vaccine. But Anthony Fauci for two years denied that they even had the data. Now, the data was clear all over the world, except for somehow the CDC didn’t have the data, but it did. It just didn’t want to expose it. And there are 21,000 people at the CDC. Now, can you think of a single thing that would be more important, especially pre-vaccine? Can you think of a single thing that would be more important than...
