Contingency plans are being prepared by palace and government officials to accommodate her absence should health or mobility issues prevent her from reading her speech on May 10. It comes as the Queen, 95, has pulled out of a number of key occasions in the last six months due to concerns surrounding her health, most recently delegating to Charles for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey last week. The consistent uncertainty has meant that her presence at all future events will be confirmed on the day with a member of the royal family on standby in the event she feels unable to attend.  A royal source told the Sunday Times: 'The date is in Her Majesty's diary, and she hopes to attend. The Queen remains fit and active, and it is amazing how much she still does. 'But her diary is being paced to reflect the realities of a woman of her age,...

The Scarlett Johansson-led film made just $26.25M last weekend compared to $80.3M on the weekend beginning July 9, marking the steepest second-week drop for a Marvel film distributed by Disney. The release of the action flick, directed by Cate Shortland and filmed in 2019, suffered from fits and starts as the promo cycle was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. That should make Disney worried.'  2019's Avengers: Endgame...

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wolf hunters and trappers filled nearly half of their statewide quota during the first 24 hours of the season, wildlife officials said Tuesday. The Department of Natural Resources launched a week-long wolf hunt on Monday. As of Tuesday morning, hunters and trappers had taken 52 wolves, filling nearly 44% of the 119-animal state quota. The central Wisconsin management zone yielded the most kills with 17. That zone includes portions of Adams, Juneau, Monroe, Clark and Eau Claire counties. The DNR estimates about 1,000 wolves roam the state. The season is scheduled to continue through Sunday, although the DNR may close zones early as zone-specific quotas are reached. The Trump administration removed wolves from the federal endangered species list in January, returning management to the states. Wisconsin law mandates an annual wolf hunt be held between the beginning of November and the end of February. The DNR had been planning for November season start but hunting advocacy group Hunter Nation sued for an immediate launch, arguing President Joe Biden's administration could re-list wolves before November. The Department of Justice charged a member of the extremist Boogaloo Bois with opening fire on a Minnesota police precinct at a George Floyd protest in Minneapolis. The feds said Ivan Hunter, 26, traveled to the state from Texas in May with the intent to riot during the civil unrest. Federal officials said the Boogaloo Bois are a far-right anti-government group that believes in an impending American civil war. Officials said Hunter fired 13 rounds from an AK-47 into the Minneapolis Police Third Precinct on the night of May 28. Hunter was pulled over for a traffic violation after returning to Texas and was allegedly found with six loaded rifles and a pistol. Several days later, the feds became aware of Hunter’s online affiliation with Boogaloo Bois member Steven Carrillo, who is charged with the May 20, 2020, murder of a sheriff’s deputy in California. He faces one count of riot and was arraigned Friday in San Antonio.

Longmont will soon allow medical marijuana delivery by approved dispensaries, and they don't even have to be located there. Approved unanimously by the Longmont City Council on October 13, the new ordinance allows medical dispensaries to start delivering within the town starting on October 26. But it may take longer before patients will actually see medication being dropped off at their doors. While marijuana stores don't need to be located within Longmont city limits to qualify for this new program, they must be licensed for delivery by the state Marijuana Enforcement Division as well as the City of Longmont. Although there are several medical dispensaries located nearby in unincorporated Boulder County, there is only one licensed medical dispensary, Twin Peaks, in Longmont. Neither Twin Peaks nor those other Boulder County dispensaries have their MED permits yet.Related Stories Debate Over Future of Denver Marijuana Licensing Continues Colorado Towns Considering New Marijuana Businesses Aurora Slowly Opening Up to Marijuana Delivery Marijuana Deals Near YouTwin Peaks co-owner Rita Tsalyuk says that she'll apply for state and local delivery licenses "very soon, within a week or so."
