Disney-owned Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has spoken out about the lesbian Latina heroine of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, saying it was important that the movie include the sexuality of the 14-year-old character, whose name is “America Chavez.” “It’s important, as we always say, that these films present the world as it is, and the world outside your window, as they used to say in publishing,” Feige said of portraying the character’s sexuality, according to a report from ComicBook.com. “That aspect of America’s character is from the comics. We always wanted to adapt them as well and as truthfully as we can.” Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios speaks onstage during CinemaCon 2022 (Frazer Harrison/Getty Images for for CinemaCon) Feige added that the movie is not about “America Chavez” being gay. “Being truthful to that and showcasing that, and that’s not what the movie is about, but it is an important part of the character she becomes in the comics. We wanted to touch upon that,” he reportedly said. MCU newcomer Xochitl Gomez is America Chavez in Doctor Strange...
In the wake of an unprecedented leak of the draft of the United States Supreme Court ruling on a Mississippi law, pro-life conservatives are hailing what would undo the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that made abortion the law of the land. “If the draft opinion made public tonight is the final opinion of the court, we wholeheartedly applaud the decision,” Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement: The American people have the right to act through their elected officials to debate and enact laws that protect unborn children and honor women. If Roe is indeed overturned, our job will be to build consensus for the strongest protections possible for unborn children and women in every legislature. “We also recognize the need for the pro-life movement to continue its existing work to support pregnant women and children in need,” Dannenfelser said. If the draft opinion made public tonight is final, we wholeheartedly applaud the decision. The American people have the right to act through their elected officials to debate and enact laws that protect unborn children and women....
We have two incredible guests on today’s podcast. First, host Alex Marlow talks with Tina Descovich, the co-founder of “Moms for Liberty” – a group we’ve been following closely at Breitbart News. They’re bringing about incredible change across the country and have become heroes in the Joe Biden era due to their effective local activism. Tina and “Moms for Liberty” are at the tip of the spear. The organization is in 34 states and is 85,000 members-strong, and they’re just getting started! Our second guest is relationship specialist, author, and TV personality Siggy Flicker. At Breitbart, we’ve been recently elevating online influencers on the show who publicly embrace us and share our content on the web. Siggy is a former Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member and one of the most popular people we’ve had on to date since we’ve started this effort. She was a “Bravolebrity” for a couple years and is now fighting online on behalf of MAGA, Israel, and conservative causes. Siggy really does bring the fire! The Breitbart News Daily Podcast runs Monday through Friday...
Tina Descovich has been fighting for parental rights since she was elected to the Brevard County, Florida school board in 2016. But her mission is now shared by 85,000 other mothers in 34 states who joined Moms for Liberty and who now show up at school board meetings to hold officials accountable. These moms are also running for school board spots and other local offices — and winning. They’ve honed their skills by scouring websites and requesting public records to uncover the radical sexual and racial agenda being pushed in public schools across the land. “Our mission is to save America by empowering parents to stand up for their parental rights,” Descovich said on the Friday edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. “We are moms that are concerned about the future of our country and our children,” Descovich said.  Moms for Liberty has only been around for 16 months and is already having a nationwide impact. They’re confronting schools about books for the youngest children with explicit sexual content. They’re fighting school curriculums that push Critical...
A group of mothers are set to launch an effort to transport a busload on concerned parents to protest outside Disney World in Florida and to support the state’s Parental Rights in Education law. The Ohio-based Moms for America has supported Florida’s education law from the outset and now plans to tell Disney just how much they oppose the entertainment giant’s efforts to attack Florida over the law. The group has organized a two-hour protest with “several” Disney employees who oppose the company’s radical LGBTQ pronouncements that will be held on April 16 outside the entrance for Disney Springs. Correction! It’s at the entrance of Disney Springs not Magic Kingdom! — Moms for America (@momsforamerica) April 13, 2022 “We are excited to bring together freedom-loving Floridians and Americans from across the country to show Disney that it should return to its focus of embracing and promoting family values, liberty, and freedom,” said Rebekah Ricks, president of the Florida Alliance of Moms For America. The group plans to drive its “Freedom Truck” to the protest, which also appeared at the Washington...
Parents around the country are reporting instances of “mask mouth” — including staph infections and tooth decay — among their children due to forced masking, Moms for America president and founder Kimberly Fletcher told Breitbart News during an exclusive interview at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida. When asked about the issues that parents are most concerned about, Fletcher pointed to comprehensive sex education, intimidation and bullying from administrators to teachers and children, and mask mandates in schools. “We get stories from moms all over the country who are telling us that their children — ‘mask mouth’ is a thing now where children are getting staph infections around their mouths and they’re having tooth decay,” she said. “There are teachers who are literally taping masks to children’s faces. They’re putting them in isolation because they’re not wearing a mask. It’s absolutely absurd what’s happening,” Fletcher continued. Over the course of the last year, she continued, she has heard people say, “What’s the big deal? Just put on the mask.” “And I keep telling them it’s not about...
Moms for America has joined the People’s Convoy of semitruck drivers — and debuted their own pro-liberty truck — in what founder Kimberly Fletcher says is a protest against coronavirus mandates and vaccines, as well as the “draconian mentality” embraced by the left. Speaking to Breitbart News during an exclusive interview at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida, Fletcher discussed the group’s decision to join the freedom trucker movement, the People’s Convoy, to send a “strong message of freedom.” During the four-day conference, the group launched their “big rig” — a  “purple truck with a Statue of Liberty and Constitution and big Moms for America logo on it.” From there it headed west to meet with the team coming from Barstow, ultimately traveling to D.C. She told Breitbart News that the truck driver is actually a mom as well. BIG NEWS! Moms for America is joining the Peoples Convoy! by Brett Craig and Robin Steenman   Critical social justice’s (CSJ) march through America’s institutions is very nearly complete. CSJ, and its woke evangelists, easily penetrated and commandeered U.S. colleges and universities. Even White House occupant Joe Biden speaks incessantly about “white supremacy.” The Department of Homeland Security tells us white domestic terrorism is the top threat to America. Not to be left out, corporate America has proclaimed its total fealty to woke ideology. Leaked documents show companies like Coke imploring their employees to “be less white.” Raytheon—whose laser-guided bombs are disproportionally dropped on people of color—tells its white, straight, Christian, able-bodied, English-speaking employees to deconstruct their identities, “identify [their] privilege,” and “step aside” in favor of other identity groups. AT&T offers employees training that says racism is a “uniquely white trait,” telling white employees that they “are the problem.” It’s pure racism, of course. But not a single Fortune 500 CEO has spoken out against it. They’re too frightened to do so. America’s institutions have fallen to the neo-Marxist, critical social justice ideology without a fight. But then, along the way, the unexpected happened....
President Joe Biden visited a daycare center in Connecticut on Friday, promoting his multitrillion-dollar spending bills that would make the federal government subsidize child and elder care. The president argued that his “Build Back Better” bill was focused on human infrastructure to get the economy running again. “How can we compete in a world if millions of American parents, especially moms, can’t be part of the work force?” Biden asked. “Because they can’t afford the cost of child care or elder care?” Biden said the cost of childcare in America made it difficult for both parents to work. He promised that no middle class family would spend more than seven percent of their income on child care, if his spending proposals were passed. “That’s going to help parents get back into the workforce and make ends meet,” Biden said. Biden warned that 12 years of public education was no longer enough for America’s children, lamenting that half of three- and four-year-olds in America were enrolled in early education. “Does anybody think we’d think 12 years was enough in the second...
The founder of Moms for America is calling for a national parents strike to protest “the continued public school mask mandates” and other “encroachments on our freedoms.” “The only recourse left is for parents to strike!” said Kimberly Fletcher in a press release Thursday, linking to the strike campaign page of the website for the organization of 500,000 “moms” in all 50 states. Fletcher continued: We have heard from moms across the country who are frustrated and angry with the continued public school mask mandates and encroachments on our freedoms. We will no longer be ignored. We have little to no legal recourse when courts do not abide the Constitution. We have political recourse but that is months away and we need action now. The call for the strike began August 19, Fletcher said. “We entrust our children to the schools and that trust has been broken,” she stated. “Until it is restored and our demands met, we will keep our children home.” A young girl holds up...
(CNN)Before our nation's Labor Day tradition began in the 1880s, laborers commonly logged 70-hour workweeks in dangerous conditions -- until they organized to change that. Their unions eventually created the work-life balance we consider the norm today: a 40-hour workweek and two-day weekend, a minimum wage and safe working conditions. Still, there's one group of workers who, this past year, recorded 56-hour workweeks with zero days off. Reshma Saujani They have demanding, unpredictable jobs and few workplace protections. Quitting is abandonment and the position is unpaid. These too-often forsaken workers are America's 45 million moms. And the past year has shown that the time has come to unionize. Moms have long benefited from unions. Recent research shows that mothers in unions are 17% more likely to use paid maternity leave. Women who are in unions enjoy higher wages overall and a smaller wage gap and more than 90% have paid sick leave to care of themselves and their families, according to the AFL-CIO. And yet, even though motherhood is one of the most challenging and common jobs in America --...
Members of President Donald Trump’s campaign and grassroots groups from around the country will gather in Washington, DC, on Wednesday for the March to Save America on the White House lawn. A pre-rally at Freedom Plaza and sister rallies at the Capitol and the Supreme Court are planned for Tuesday — all being staged to send a message to Congress about certifying the electoral vote for the 2020 presidential election, which is also taking place on Wednesday. The main rally will take place on Wednesday at the Ellipsis at the White House—informally called “the President’s Lawn.” The event is open to the public but many of the seats are reserved. Gates will open at 7 a.m. and attendees will face a Secret Service checkpoint to enter the White House grounds. A host of high-profile Trump supporters are expected to speak beginning at 9 a.m., including Donald Trump, Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle, Amy Kremer, Rudy Giuliani, Katrina Pierson, Boris Ephsteyn, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, Diamond and Silk, Georgia State Rep. Vernon Jones, Roger Stone, Benny Johnson, Scott Presler,...
VALDOSTA, Georgia — South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem told Breitbart News exclusively here that whoever wins the Georgia Senate runoffs will directly impact mothers across the state and the country. Noem’s interview came during a campaign stop here in downtown Valdosta at Jessie’s Restaurant after she met with GOP voters as part of an effort to turn out the vote for Sens. David Perdue (R-GA) and Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) in Tuesday’s upcoming runoffs. The Wednesday interview, which aired on Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel, came after she spoke and took questions from local GOP voters gathered in the restaurant. One of Noem’s daughters joined her for the event. Perdue and Loeffler face Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock respectively in Tuesday’s runoff elections. Gov. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem was in Washington, DC,  this past weekend with her husband, son, two daughters, and son-in-law, but the trip wasn’t related to politics or tourism. Noem was in town to accept Moms for America’s Mother of Influence award. Kimberly Fletcher, founder and president of the non-profit, pro-family Christian organization cited Noem’s leadership in 2020 as the country faced the coronavirus pandemic. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem was given the Moms of America’s Mothers of Influence award on Sunday in Washington, DC. (Penny Starr/Breitbart News) “She speaks truth,” Fletcher said in her introduction of Noem. “She actually follows the science that they keep telling us we should follow and she institutes policies that are going to promote freedom and … to actually fix problems instead of creating them.” “We need more people who will stand up for truth, for freedom, for family and be that common sense voice that we need,” Fletcher said. Moms for America is hosting a “Keep Christmas” rally on the National Mall at 11 a.m. on Sunday to stand for the First Amendment’s guarantee of the right to assembly and the freedom to exercise religious beliefs in the public square. “This event will unite participants together in One Human Race, Under God, to celebrate the birth of the only King in America, and Americans’ Constitutionally protected rights to worship, pray and sing,” the announcement for the rally said. Confirmed speakers include Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Mike Kelly (R-PA), businessman Mike Lindell, Rose Tennent, and the Rev. Brian Gibson and his wife, Jessi. There are “Keep Christmas” rallies planned across the country for “coast to coast caroling,” according to an announcement. Kimberly Fletcher is the founder and president of the national, non-profit 501(c)(3) “rooted in the principles of liberty and virtue upon which our nation was founded, and focused on promoting these principles, values, and virtues in the home and family through the women and mothers of America.” “This has been a challenging year for America and a very...
A group of moms gathered in D.C. on Sunday to show their support for President Trump ahead of the election. Kimberly Fletcher, president and founder of Moms for America, told WTOP that the group’s rally was about thanking President Donald Trump for what he has done for mothers across the country. “We want to thank him for holding the line to make sure that our neighborhoods are safe, that our kids have choice when it comes to school,” Fletcher said. She said Moms for America is trying to show that celebrating freedom is OK and that its message is often misunderstood. “You carry a flag and they call you racist. You stand for the national anthem and they say you don’t care about Black people. That’s absurd. We have all kinds of moms that come to these events that we do,” Fletcher said. “God bless America and God Bless the President of the United States Donald Trump,” a speaker said during the rally to a group of cheers. Fletcher said several moms from the group rented an Airbnb during the Amy...
