VIDEO2:3402:34Here are ETF investment areas slated for growth in 2022Halftime Report The robotics industry could reach a "key inflection point" in 2022, said Global X's Jay Jacobs. Low interest rates, rising labor costs and disrupted supply chains are setting up for "a huge surge in spending on robotics and artificial intelligence," the firm's senior vice president and head of research and strategy told CNBC's "ETF Edge" on Monday. "We think we're going to be in the golden era of robotics adoption in the United States and beyond," Jacobs said. "We're actually forecasting growth in industrial robots from 16 billion to 37 billion over the next 10 years with 2022 being that key inflection point." Robotics investments' last big year was 2017, but investors got distracted by other themes such as electric vehicles, Jacobs said. Global X's Robotics & Artificial Intelligence ETF (BOTZ) is up 140% since its 2016 launch, but has declined more than 9% in the past month. "It's important to try to anticipate the changes that are happening before the rest of the market has picked up on...

Global adoption of cryptocurrency has taken off in the last year, up 881%, with Vietnam, India and Pakistan firmly in the lead, according to new data from Chainalysis. It is the second year the blockchain data firm has released its Global Crypto Adoption Index, which ranks 154 countries according to metrics such as peer-to-peer exchange trading volume, rather than gross transaction volume, which typically favors developed nations with high levels of professional and institutional crypto buy-in. The point of this index is to capture crypto adoption by "ordinary people" and to "focus on use cases related to transactions and individual saving, rather than trading and speculation." The metrics are weighted to incorporate the wealth of the average person and the value of money generally within particular countries. The top 20 countries are largely comprised of emerging economies, including Togo, Colombia, and Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the United States slipped from sixth to eighth place, and China, which cracked down on crypto this spring, dropped from fourth to thirteenth. Chainalysis ascribes the rising adoption levels in emerging markets to a few key factors....

YouTubers Nikki and Dan Phillippi are being blasted as 'disgusting,' 'awful,' and 'appalling people' over a 2018 video in which they revealed that they stopped a planned adoption after being told they wouldn't be legally allowed to post about the child on social media for a year. Earlier this month, the influencer couple faced furious backlash for euthanizing their dog because of his 'aggressive side' after he bit her one-year-old son Logan — and now critics are returning to another troubling update that Nikki, 33, and Dan, 34, shared three years ago. In the May 2018 vlog, which has been viewed over 268,000 times, Nikki and Dan explained that they stopped pursuing adoption of a child from Thailand when they learned that the Thai government had a temporary ban on social media posts about adopted children — which would be at odds with their very public social media personas. WARSAW (Reuters) - Poland's President Andrzej Duda on Monday proposed changing the constitution to ban LGBT couples from adopting children ahead of Sunday's presidential run-off in which the candidates are polling neck-and-neck. The opposition centrist Civic Platform (PO) candidate, Warsaw mayor Rafal Trzaskowski, said this weekend that he is also against the adoption of children by LGBT couples. Duda is an ally of the ruling nationalist Law and Justice Party (PiS), which dismisses LGBT rights as an invasive foreign influence undermining Poland's traditional values. A majority amounting to two-thirds of the lower house of parliament is needed to change the constitution. After an election in October, PiS rules with a slim majority and does not hold enough seats to carry out such changes. Duda said he hoped he could garner broader support for his proposal from some members of PO, the agrarian PSL grouping and from the far-right Confederation party. "I am convinced that, thanks to this, children's safety and concern for the good of children will be ensured to a much greater extent," Duda said at an event in...
