THE weeks-long, 16-agency manhunt for Brian Laundrie that included drones, choppers, and high-tech equipment couldn't locate the fugitive - but his parents found their son's belongings in less than two hours. Chris Laundrie stumbled upon his backpack and notebook while he was reportedly away from law enforcement within 90 minutes on Wednesday, while officers later found human remains in the vicinity. 5Gabby Petito's fiance Brian Laundrie on InstagramCredit: Social Media - Refer to source 5Police choppers can be seen circling the Carlton Reserve, Sarasota, FloridaCredit: Splash News Cops combed through the alligator and insect-infested swap of the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park near the Carlton Reserve in Florida for any signs of Brian. But it was his father who found the white plastic bag and a black object believed to be Laundrie's - just 24 hours after the park was reopened to the public. The remains haven't been positively identified as Brian, but Laundrie's family...
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Saturday was the conclusion of New York City’s Homecoming Week, ending with “We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert,” but the big finale was cut short due to severe weather as Hurricane Henri approached the region. As CBS2’s Cory James reports, the concert was expected to last for about five hours, but Mother Nature cut it short, giving people who waited in line for hours only two and a half hours of entertainment. Manilow began performing “Can’t Smile Without You,” as part of a medley of his hits when the announcement interrupted his performance, ordering concert goers to immediately leave the park and seek shelter. SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) — Rescuers in Surfside, Florida worked throughout the night to locate dozens of people still unaccounted for after a condominium building collapsed without warning early Thursday morning. “As the sun sets on the most tragic day this community can remember, we are working around the clock to search and rescue people in this rubble,” said Miami Dade mayor Daniella Levine-Cava. Rescuers were racing against the clock to find survivors of the 12-story beachfront condo that crumbled around 1:30 a.m. Former Miami-Dade fire chief Dave Downey said first responders were using dogs, cameras that fit into small spaces and listening devices to aid in their search. As of Thursday night, at least 99 people were unaccounted for. One person was reported dead and at least 11 were injured. Menlo Park Fire Protection District chief Harold Schapelhouman knows all too well the mission rescuers in Florida are on right now. He’s the task force leader of a California Search and Rescue team and was involved in locating victims of the Loma Prieta earthquake and Oklahoma City terrorist bombing. “(In...

A mother said she was harassed and kicked out of an Oklahoma amusement park last month after her shorts were deemed "too short." Bailey Breedlove explained in a May 3 Facebook post that an officer at Frontier City, which is part of Six Flags, confronted her on April 30 after her daughter rode down a hill at the park while wearing wheeled shoes. "Then she proceeded to follow me and grabbed my shoulder to turn me around and proceeded to tell me my shorts were 'too short,'" she wrote. "I committed no crime and proceeded to walk to my boyfriend as I am autistic and have a hard time talking to officers. She followed me yelling and calling for backup. Then your incompetent manager showed up and began body shaming me." Six Slag has responded after an autistic mother alleged that she was 'body shamed' and 'threatened' by a park manager and police officer over the length of her shorts at Frontier City, a Six Flags theme park in Oklahoma City. Six Flags claims their decision to remove her had more to do with her behavior towards the officer than it did her shorts. They also say she had multiple chances to cover up or change, but they had no choice but to remove 'after she refused to stop her unruly and offensive behavior, targeted at the police and other park guests.' Bailey Breedlove from Colorado shared a video of the altercation with the female officer about her 'too short' shorts on Facebook and TikTok, where it has gone viral, after visiting the park on April 30 with her 11-year-old daughter, who was brought to tears over the confrontation. 'My experience there was traumatizing,' the mom wrote in her post, explaining that she and her family were welcomed into the park at 5pm without any issue until a few hours later.  Bailey...
Facebook (Bailey Breedlove) Part of the Six Flags too short shorts video. An Oklahoma mother named Bailey Breedlove is claiming she was kicked out of the Oklahoma City Six Flags amusement park for wearing too short shorts, and she captured it on a TikTok video that she also posted to Facebook. You can watch the video later in this article. Bailey Breedlove wrote about the incident on Facebook. In an update, Breedlove wrote, “Update: we have spoken with the Oklahoma police department captain and he assured us this was NOT an Oklahoma city police officer.” The young mother lives in Durango, Colorado, according to her Facebook page. Six Flags has a different story, saying that Breedlove wasn’t kicked out for her shorts but rather for her behavior toward guards, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Breedlove says in the post that she is autistic. Her post is dated May 2, 2021. Bailey Breedlove, who says she is autistic, wrote on Facebook that her family’s vacation to Frontier City Six Flags in Oklahoma City, Okla., on April 30 was ruined by the horrific “body shaming’’ experience. “I was terrified I was about to go to jail over a pair of shorts,’’ she said. Breedlove said the family trip went off the rails after “my daughter was yelled at by a park police officer for rolling down a hill on her heelies right next to me, I was holding her hand. “Then [the guard] proceeded to follow me and grabbed my shoulder to turn me around and proceeded to tell me my shorts were ‘too short,’...
Some amusement parks apparently take the dress code very seriously. A woman says that she was harassed by security and kicked out of an Oklahoma theme park because her shorts were too short. According to her, she was able to enter the park without any issues and it wasn’t until a certain security officer confronted her that she had a problem. Bailey Breedlove was visiting Six Flags’ Frontier City in Oklahoma with her daughter when the incident occurred, Newsweek reports. Apparently, park security confronted the young mother about the length of her shorts, which they had determined to be too short. DISNEY WORLD, UNIVERSAL STUDIOS STOPPING TEMPERATURE CHECKS FOR GUESTS Breedlove uploaded a video to TikTok which shows her speaking with two park security officers. In the video, the officers appear to be wearing uniforms that identify them as police officers. Newsweek, however, reports that Breedlove later spoke with the Oklahoma City police and was told that the officers who were involved in this incident were not associated with the city’s police. @baileybreedlove970 ##policeoftiktok ##sixflags ##frontiercity ##bodyshamingpolice ##trending ##donttellmewhattodo ♬ original...

SAN JOSE (KPIX) — In just a matter of days, nearly all Californians will be eligible to get the COVID vaccine but getting an appointment may not be easy as the state expects a shortage in supply beginning next week. “There’s going to be a bit of a backlog in the next couple of weeks,” said Stanford University infectious disease expert Dr. Yvonne Maldonado. READ MORE: San Francisco Nightlife Rebounds as Pandemic Restrictions Ease The supply is expected to decrease by 33 percent due to a Johnson & Johnson manufacturing issue. The state received 2.4 million doses this week and expects to receive 400,000 fewer doses next week. It expects to get 1.9 million doses the week after next. News of the shortage comes just days after Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the state would dispense with the use of color-code tiers and fully reopen on June 15 so long as hospitalizations remain low and vaccinations ramp up. He also declared that the vaccine supply would steadily increase. “We have been assured by Johnson & Johnson that they remain committed to...

Kendra Muecke calls Los Angeles home these days, but for two years she lived in Denver. Although her time in Colorado was short, it made enough of an impact that she focused an entire album around one song inspired by a trip through the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. “They have a buffalo-roaming area out there,” Muecke says. “I had just written this poem about buffalo. I drove through this section of this national park and then wrote the chord progression in the buffalo roaming area to the 'Buffalo Walk' song. So it’s always been super close to my heart.” She shelved 'Buffalo Walk' until she could properly record it, but it later served as the center of her third album of Thank you, which dropped on September 25. Muecke, who performs as Kendra & the Bunnies, considers the fifteen tracks of psychedelic-tinged Americana to be a concept album of sorts that centers around "Buffalo Walk," the last track on the record.Related Stories Playing Wind Instruments and Singing Can Spread COVID-19. LESS than an hour after arriving at Chessington World of Adventures the kids were already asking: "When can we come back?" Months of being stuck inside and home schooling all of a sudden seemed like a distant memory. 10Chessington reopened this month - here is what it is like inside the park My wife and I, Millie, seven and Benji, three, checked into Chessington’s Safari Hotel in what will be the closest we get to a family holiday this summer. While the kids were beside themselves with excitement, we were a little nervous about what to expect with the park just getting up and running post-lockdown. Despite being the first Friday of the school holidays, the hotel car park was only half full. But other than the temperature check at reception, perspex screens around the bar and the social distanced tables in the restaurant, it was business as usual. Obviously the kids didn’t notice any of this which has become the new norm. 10Stay overnight and you're first in the park - before the other guests 10Rooms are being deeply...
Take a gander at any of the public social media groups for enthusiasts of Orlando, Florida’s Walt Disney World and you’ll find a common refrain: the theme park, which re-opened on Friday amid a COVID-19 catastrophe, has super-short lines for all its top roller coasters right now. Disney World closed in mid-March, when COVID-19 cases began sweeping the country. Then on Friday, the same day Florida reported its largest single-day increase in the virus and the first day the U.S. reported more than 70,000 cases, Disney World re-opened its gates. The re-opening also comes one day after unionized Disney staff lobbied, unsuccessfully for COVID-19 testing. The result, say Disney megafans who visited on re-opening day, is a weirdly empty park.“Walking onto every ride with 5 mins wait if that! I wish everyday was like that.”— Disney World fanDistanced Disney rules, some fans say. “Ummm Disney, can you be like this all the time!??” one person posted in a public Disney group, alongside pictures of virtually non-existent lines for popular rides. “Walking onto every ride with 5 mins wait if...
