    A shocking clip shows the moment a Houston Family Dollar employee killed a shoplifter, firing six shots into his back as he fled the store with stolen motor oil.  Antonio Batres, 21, faces murder charges after he emptied the clip of his Glock 9mm pistol into 49-year-old Troy Odom around 4.30 pm on April 17 as dumbstruck shoppers looked on.   In video shot by a shopper, two store employees can be seen confronting the Odom - one of the men can be heard shouting unintelligibly.     A Connecticut teen has been charged for allegedly being drunk while driving the wrong way on a busy roadway and causing a crash that injured two. The incident took place in Hartford County around 3:50 p.m., Thursday, March 24 on I-91 Exit 45 off-ramp in East Windsor,  Connecticut State Police said. Tolland County resident Jaiden Henry Mcmanus, age 18, of Vernon, was arrested on Thursday by troopers. Upon arrival to the scene, it was determined that Mcmanus, who was driving a 2021 Honda Passport southbound in the northbound off-ramp struck a 2011 GMC Sierra that was stopped at the traffic light head-on, state police said. A passenger in the Mcmanus' car and the other driver were transported to Hartford Hospital to be treated for what troopers said appeared to be minor injuries. A follow-up investigation found that Mcmanus was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, state police said.     Three men are facing charges after allegedly attempting to pull a fast one at a Fairfield County bank in an effort to defraud the branch out of thousands of dollars. Officers were dispatched to the Bank of America location in New Canaan, located on Elm Street, at approximately 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, where there was a report of a suspicious patron who was attempting to unlawfully access a bank account to withdraw $4,000. New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro said that employees of the bank did not approve the transaction, and the suspect patron - later identified as 60-year-old Bronx resident Eugene White - left the bank in the direction of a parked blue Mercedes that was in front of the bank. Ferraro said that the driver of the Mercedes - 21-year-old Jaden Tumma, of the Bronx - abruptly spread away, leaving White behind before the two were reunited near Starbucks on Park Street.     BOSTON (CBS) – Two people were arrested Thursday afternoon after a stolen car crashed into construction equipment in Boston. It happened around 12:40 p.m. on Merrimack Street in downtown Boston. Massachusetts State Police said troopers tried to stop a car that had been stolen out of New Bedford. The driver did not stop, though State Police said they had not yet begun a pursuit. A short time later, the car crashed at the construction site. No one was hurt. Police arrested 20-year-old Kenny Gedeon and 20-year-old Curtis Monteiro of New Bedford. It is not yet clear what charges they are facing. Louis Martinez was working delivering food to a nearby restaurant when he heard the crash. “He actually hit the truck and went inside the trailer but luckily I wasn’t inside,” Martinez said. His truck was hit in the few seconds Martinez was inside the restaurant. He said if timing was any different, “I wouldn’t be here talking to you guys I know that.”

    A 40-year-old woman riding a motor bike died in a Tuesday night crash in Mercer County, authorities announced. The Trenton woman — whose name was not released — was operating a mini motor bike in the center lane of Route 1 South near Buffalo Wild Wings in West Windsor when she was hit by a North Brunswick man driving a Ford around 10:40 p.m., local police said. The woman was dressed in dark clothing and had been operating the bike without lights, authorities said. The woman was thrown from the bike and landed on the roadway, where she and the bike were hit by several more vehicles as a result of the heavy traffic, police said. The Ford driver immediately stopped to help the victim, and a BMW driver from Trenton also stopped and waited for officers’ arrival, police said. The woman was pronounced dead around 11 p.m. by Dr. Samson of the Capital Health Regional Medical Center.     BOSTON (CBS) – A woman was killed when her car was hit by a speeding driver who ran a light in Brighton late Monday night, according to police. The two cars collided on Birmingham Parkway at Western Avenue around 10 p.m. Massachusetts State Police said 19-year-old Anderson Nova of Randolph was speeding in a rented 2022 Buick Enclave SUV when he ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into the driver’s side door of a Honda Civic. The Civic’s driver, 53-year-old Dina Donahue of Topsham, Maine, died. Prior to the crash, troopers said they spotted Nova speeding down Soldiers Field Road in the opposite direction as them. They turned around but quickly lost the car and didn’t pursue him. When the troopers came upon the crash, they said Nova tried to run away with his dog. He was arrested and taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with minor injuries. Donahue was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where she died.     Two from Worcester were arrested in a stolen vehicle that was involved in a later attempted theft at a Massachusetts postal facility, police said. The Shrewsbury Police Department received a “Be On The Lookout” alert from the Worcester Police Department at approximately 10:42 a.m. on Monday, March 29 for a stolen vehicle that was involved in an attempted larceny. Police said the vehicle, a white 2017 Nissan Rogue, was reported stolen out of Worcester on Sept. 20, 2020. Shortly after the BOLO was issued, Shrewsbury Police Officer John Pitro spotted the Nissan driving south on Route 9 near the Home Depot, prompting him to stop the driver near the intersection of South Street. Additional units responded to the scene, and the driver, Johnny Pham - who was in possession of an illegal double-edged knife - and passenger, Kelly Nguyen, both of Worcester, were taken into custody without incident.     THREE LAKES, Wis. (AP) — A Three Lakes man was killed by an apparent drunken driver after he was run over when he stopped to help pull the driver out of a ditch, authorities said Saturday. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office says authorities got a call about 9:30 p.m. Friday about a pedestrian who had been backed over by a truck on Highway X in the town of Three Lakes. An initial investigation showed the truck was heading northbound on the highway when it went into the southbound ditch. The 59-year-old pedestrian was trying to help pull the truck out when he was hit as the truck exited the ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 29-year-old driver of the truck was arrested.     BROCKTON (CBS) – A Brockton man has been charged in connection with a hit and run crash that killed a 72-year-old woman Tuesday night. Michael Blanche, 33, was arrested Thursday after police located the car believed to be involved in the crash. Investigators identified the green vehicle from surveillance video taken near the scene. The Plymouth Country District Attorney said Blanche was identified as the driver and was placed under arrest Thursday afternoon. At about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, 72-year-old Marie Rose Bienaime was found unresponsive in the area of 259 Pleasant Street. She was brought to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Blanche is charged with leaving the scene of a crash causing death, negligent motor vehicle homicide, speeding, failure to yield and operating a motor vehicle after suspension. He will be arraigned in Brockton District Court on Friday.
    A teenager was killed in a crash involving two motor vehicles and a bicycle overnight. It happened in Stamford on Friday, Nov. 6 just before 10:30 p.m. The bicyclist, a 19-year-old Stamford resident, was riding his bicycle northbound in the area of 34 Harvard Ave. when he was struck by a 2005 Cadillac being operated by a 46-year-old Bethany resident, Stamford Police said.  The initial impact with the Cadillac caused the bicyclist to be thrown from his bicycle onto the roadway, according to police. After the initial impact, the bicyclist was then struck by a second vehicle, a 2006 Infiniti that was being driven by a 32-year-old Stamford resident, police said. The bicyclist was transported from the scene by Stamford EMS with life-threatening injuries, police said.  Despite lifesaving efforts made by medical personnel at Stamford Hospital, the bicyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
