(CNN)A prosecutor found that six Atlanta police officers -- who were scrutinized over the violent arrest of two college students -- were justified in their actions, according to a news release. The investigation looked into the night of May 30, 2020, when officers were filmed breaking windows of the students' vehicle, yanking a woman out of the car and tasing a man. The students were identified as Messiah Young and Taniyah Pilgrim, who attended Morehouse and Spelman colleges, which are historically black schools. The review found that Young and Pilgrim violated curfew that night and were approached by officers, according to the finding released Monday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation."The evidence in this case shows that the involved officers' use of force was the direct result of Mr. Young and Ms. Pilgrim's resistance to and noncompliance with the officers' instructions," the release said. Attorneys for the students said they were victims of an "unjustified level of violence."Read MoreThe students said at the time they were on their way home from picking up food when they got caught in traffic downtown. ATLANTA (AP) — A prosecutor on Monday said he would not prosecute Atlanta police officers involved in a May 2020 confrontation with two college students who were stunned with Tasers and pulled from a car while they were stuck in traffic caused by protests over George Floyd’s death. Messiah Young and Taniyah Pilgrim, two students at historically Black colleges in Atlanta, were confronted by police in downtown Atlanta on May 30, 2020. Within days, then-Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced arrest warrants had been obtained for six officers. “Not only was law enforcement acting within the scope of their legal authority in their actions to obtain compliance, their actions were also largely consistent with the Atlanta Police Department’s own use of force policy,” Cherokee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Samir Patel said in a statement Monday. Patel dismissed the warrants filed against the officers involved: Ivory Streeter, Mark Gardner, Lonnie Hood, Roland Claud, Willie Sauls and Armon Jones. He said he is “unable to find probable cause to prosecute the officers involved for a crime under Georgia law.” Lawyers L....
20-year-old Emily Weinman was initially approached by the officers about underage drinking. But the situation quickly got out of hand.  To everyone’s surprise, a full-grown male police officer horrifically attacked her, threw her down, choked her, and began to punch her with his fists with a full crowd as a witness. To make matters worse, the police officers who brutalized her only got desk duty as a punishment and have yet to be charged, Care 2 said in a Facebook post.  Source: ABC News/Youtube   There are so many violations involved in the core of the issue — the systemic racism that teaches cops to fear minority citizens and treat them differently as well as the faults of the justice system that allow these abusers to avoid punishment for their actions. That is unacceptable, they should be fired. Sign this petition to demand that Wildwood police fire the officers involved in this disgusting show of excessive force by law enforcement. After what began as a minor shoplifting incident involving Pokemon cards nearly two weeks ago ended in a police shooting that killed one young Hispanic man and maimed and disfigured two teens, lawyers for those teens accused an embattled Florida sheriff on Tuesday of blaming the victims for his officers’ fatal actions. On Monday, Sheriff Marcos López of Osceola County slammed the backgrounds of the four young people his deputies shot at after allegedly catching two of them shoplifting from a Target in Kissimmee, Florida, and then waiting for them to go into their car before moving in to arrest them. López said his officers had been conducting tactical training when they grew suspicious of the car they saw parking in a handicapped spot with paper covering the license plate, and two young men who then walked out of it wearing masks and hoodies. “After seeing this clearly suspicious behavior, the training was concluded and detectives were instructed to respond to the target, to gear up,” he said. The sheriff painted the young men—particularly the slain driver, 20-year-old Jayden Baez—as...

"I can tell you, from an agency that’s on the ground, embedded with advocates and survivors that ... we have seen repeatedly, over and over again, an uptick [in human trafficking] and our services required," he said. Santa Ana Police Commander Jose Gonzalez explained during Tuesday's news conference that many victims are "lied to in the beginning, and have gotten so deep it’s difficult to find a way out." As an example, Villanueva reported that in Contra Costa County, authorities arrested a man allegedly running a nationwide prostitution ring. He said a search warrant executed by police turned up two handguns, an AR-15, a shotgun, body armor, and 100 rounds of ammunition. The sheriff went on to describe another arrest in Costa Mesa in which officers set up an online date with a young woman to trap her pimp.
