The United States announced it was expelling 12 Russian diplomats at the United Nations for spying, as Washington steps up pressure on Moscow over its actions in Ukraine. Details of the expulsions emerged in theatrical style when the Russian ambassador to the United Nations halted a news conference. 'Would you allow me just a second because I need to answer this call please,' he said.  Vassily Nebenzia finished the call and turned back to journalists to say he had 'just received information that the US authorities have undertaken another hostile action against the Russian Mission to the ... United Nations.'  He said 12 people had been declared 'persona non grata' and told to leave by March 7.  But White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki undermined the dramatic performance, and said the move had been in the 'works for months.' 'The United States informed the United Nations and the Russian mission to the United Nations that we were beginning the process of expelling 12 intelligence operatives from the Russian mission who had abused their privileges of residency in the United States...

Getty Cowboys QB Dak Prescott As the Dallas Cowboys reached the 10-win mark, Dak Prescott admitted the offense still has some work to do. Prescott revealed that he has a bet with the defense that the offense will score more touchdowns than the Cowboys are able to force turnovers. Prescott admitted the “defense is kicking out a**” as the Cowboys defense snagged four turnovers compared to the offense’s two touchdowns. “Yeah, it was huge, it was huge, I mean, wish [we] would have turned all of them [turnovers] into touchdowns, obviously as I say,” Prescott noted during his December 19 postgame press conference. “But it was huge, we have a little bet going on. I’ll let everyone know, defense is kicking our a**, but it’s turnovers versus touchdowns that we’ve we created this week, and they obviously won this one. “But we’ll make sure that [the bet] carries over and, yeah, they’re doing a great job getting the ball. Front sevens attacking, back ends getting their hands on balls and it’s impressive. It’s great to be...
An father has been branded as 'controlling and heartless' after he kicked his pregnant daughter out of the house for lying about getting back together with her ex-boyfriend. The man, believed to be from the US , took to Reddit thread, 'Am I The A**hole', where he asked Redditors to tell him if he's in the wrong for giving his daughter an ultimatum: choose to keep her baby and not live in his house, or give her child up for adoption. He described the boyfriend as a 'scumbag', and told his daughter that she needed to leave him, or leave her father's house. In the post, he wrote: 'My daughter recently told me and my wife that she's pregnant and apparently she's been hiding it for three months. 'The boyfriend is a scumbag who I thought she left after I gave her an ultimatum to either leave him or leave my house, to which she chose the latter or at least I thought she did. 'She started sobbing and telling us how sorry she was and that it was just...
At midnight tonight, under floodlights and a balmy Caribbean sky, the Prince of Wales will be guest of honour as one of the world’s smaller democracies formally severs its connections with the Crown and proclaims itself the republic of Barbados. As of tomorrow morning, soldiers, police officers, judges, civil servants and all the other apparatus of state in what many regard as the ‘most British’ of the Caribbean nations (some still call it ‘Little England’) will no longer owe allegiance to the Queen.  They will, instead, be answerable to Dame Sandra Mason, a highly-respected 72-year-old judge who becomes the country’s first president. The average Barbadian will be hard-pushed to notice any difference — for the time being, at any rate. There will be no change to the currency (the Monarch came off the bank notes years ago) and the post boxes will remain the same shade of red. Screenshot via Twitter. “I don’t want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing I need…” Apparently what we all needed was Mariah Carey armed with a giant candy cane bat, smashing a pumpkin to bits, and letting us all know it’s time to get festive. Carey’s 1994 smash holiday hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” is instantly recognizable to millions of people all over the world, often the first few notes of chimes, and definitely from the moment she begins to sing. As one of the best selling Christmas singles of all time, the tune has become the de facto anthem of the modern holiday season, inspiring countless memes — and eye-twitching dread from retail employees who are forced to overdose on the song for several weeks every year. The pandemic chilled the spirits of last year’s holiday season, but this year the wide availability of vaccines has drastically lowered the risk of gathering together, and many Americans are eagerly anticipating celebrating this year with friends and family. And Carey isn’t going to let anyone waste...
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — The NFL is spending $6.2 million to help expand programs to prevent or treat problem gambling across the country. The league is launching a responsible betting initiative aimed at getting fans to set limits on their wagers, understand the risks of betting, and know where to get help if things get out of hand. It is partnering with the National Council on Problem Gambling to improve the group’s nationwide help line, create new treatment programs and expand existing ones, and educate football fans who gamble on how to do so responsibly. A three-year effort will include in-game messaging, social media outreach, broadcast, print and in-stadium messaging. Some of it will target people who are too young to legally gamble but may feel tempted to do so. More than 45 million Americans say they plan to bet on NFL games this year, according to the American Gaming Association, the casino industry’s national trade group. That’s an increase of 36% from last year. “Sports betting is supposed to be fun,” said Christopher Halpin, the NFL’s executive vice...

Former Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie slammed Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer during a Sunday morning appearance on ABC’s “This Week.” Christie argued that Schumer’s speech attacking Republicans — delivered just after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell ended the standoff and agreed to raise the debt ceiling — amounted to taking what he wanted from them and then “kicking them in the face.” (RELATED: ‘The Death Of 2020 Joe Biden’: Chris Christie Says Biden Capitulated To The Far Left Just Like The Taliban) WATCH: “There is all this talk about people wanting bipartisanship,” Christie began, arguing that twice in recent weeks, Republicans had delivered on that front. “You’ve had the infrastructure bill in the Senate, you had 19 Republican senators come with the Democrats. And now you had the debt ceiling, where 10 came to extend the debt ceiling. And both times, Democratic leadership has smacked back at Republicans.” Christie went on to say that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had promised a House vote on the infrastructure bill – a vote that as yet has not happened...

An emergency room doctor in Texas recently shared a glimpse of the brutal reality he and other frontline workers have faced "for the past three weeks" as they continue battling the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking to CBS News, Dr. Hasan Kakli, a doctor in the emergency department at the El Campo Memorial Hospital in Rosenburg, Texas, detailed the challenges of attending to COVID patients in need of specialized treatment at the medical facility where he works, noting a lack of proper resources. Offering an example of the strained situations they face, Kakli spoke of a 50-year-old patient only identified as Araceli who arrived at the hospital unresponsive. Although he is in critical need of an intensive care unit (ICU) bed and a cancer evaluation, neither resources are available at El Campo. Araceli would need to be transferred to another facility an hour away in Houston, Texas but unfortunately, that option is also currently off the table as the metropolitan city's hospital systems are also inundated with COVID-related hospitalizations. "So at this point, it's kind of like we need help....
A Texas doctor who works in his hospital’s emergency department said COVID-19 is “kicking humanity’s a--,” as the state and nation continue to struggle with spiking cases amid a summer surge. Dr. Hasan Kakli, who works at the El Campo Memorial Hospital Emergency Department in Texas, told CBS News he was racing against time when trying to treat patients who need specialized care because of a lack of resources at his facility. Kakli told reporter David Begnaud about one patient, Araceli, 50, who has been unresponsive since arriving at El Campo Memorial Hospital this weekend and is in need of an intensive care unit bed and an evaluation by a cancer specialist. Neither, however, is available at Kakli’s hospital. Kakli said he has tried to transfer Araceli to a Houston cancer hospital that has the resources she needs, but it would not accept her because it is overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients. “So at this point, it's kind of like we need help. If she didn't have the malignancy and we had an open ICU bed, we would take care of her here,” he added....

Workers at a farm which supplies stores including Whole Foods with 'humanely-raised' turkey were filmed torturing the animals - with one man even simulating masturbation with a dying bird.   Horrifying undercover footage obtained by a worker who was secretly moonlighting for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) also showed workers stomping, kicking and hitting birds. It was shot at Plainville Farms in New Oxford, Pennsylvania, which also supplies stores including Publix and Harris Teeter. Birds were filmed convulsing with pain after being fatally wounded by the workers, and left to die on the concrete floor of a harshly-lit barn.  Pennsylvania State Police received a probe on Plainville Farms from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which told the New York Post on Thursday that their animal cruelty office is 'currently' reviewing the information by the animal advocacy group. The footage was shot by a PETA activist who worked 11 shifts at 10 different Plainville in July and August this year, with the firm claiming to raise birds 'humanely' in a 'stress-free environment.'  Plainville Farms have been called...

Theodule had been put on unpaid suspension while Citizen was placed on administrative assignment when Atlanta Police Department Chief Rodney Bryant was made aware of the video the same day it was recorded.  Citizen has since returned to full duty after the investigation conducted by the Atlanta Police Department Office for Professional Standards determined she had not violated their duty-to-intervene policy.   Citizen reported the incident...
