Bravo Eddie Lucas Eddie Lucas of “Below Deck” fame made some strong claims about the pay received by cast members on the franchise in an interview and some other Bravo stars are responding. Lucas spoke with the New York Post and shaded some other Bravo franchises and the network over the pay received by “Below Deck” stars. “There is somebody monetizing off of the show, but it’s definitely not us,” the first officer shared. “‘Below Deck’ — regardless of it being the most popular show on Bravo — we are the lowest-paid cast members.” Lucas also said it was “frustrating” to see Bravo stars on other franchises make “millions” when it felt like “Below Deck” stars were working harder, telling the Post, “While we do get paid better than a normal yachtie, of course, we are still not getting paid what people like the ‘Housewives’ are making, which is a little frustrating, because they’re not really working — they’re just going out to dinner and fighting.” Read More From Heavy How You Can Help Ukraine: Verified Charities, GoFundMe...
A Disney heiress has created a documentary criticizing the pay gap of Disney employees, focusing on wage earners, or “cast members,” at Disneyland, some of whom say they are unable to afford sufficient food on their pay. Abigail E. Disney — granddaughter of Roy O. Disney, who co-founded the company with brother Walt Disney — co-directed the movie The American Dream and Other Fairy Tales, which is having its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. In a Sundance video, Abigail Disney talked about her personal connection to the story. “What I bring to this is a memory of who my grandfather was in the 1960s and early 70s. The kid of CEO he was, how he greeted the people who worked for him, how he understood them as partners and not cogs in a machine,” she said. Watch below: She said the impetus for the documentary was a worker at Disneyland who reached out to her about pay issues at the theme park in Anaheim. Many Disney theme park cast members earn slightly more than minimum wage, though it ultimately...

Bravo The RHOBH cast at the season 11 reunion. Things may not be so hunky dory with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Amid reports that “friend of” the Housewives, Kathy Hilton, demanded a hefty salary increase before she would return for season 12, a source claims the rest of the cast is up in arms. In December, TMZ reported that Hilton refused to film scenes for the new season unless she got more money. Negotiations took several weeks and Hilton missed several cast events that were shot early on, but  shewill now make regular appearances for the upcoming round of the Bravo reality show. It is unclear how much Hilton will be paid to a part-time RHOBH “friend,” but earlier reports suggested she commanded more than $1 million for the limited role. “Kathy’s done her homework,” an insider told Life & Style (via All About the Real Housewives). “Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss and New York City’s alum Bethenny Frankel made way over $1 million per season, so Kathy’s people have told Bravo she wants to be paid somewhere...

HBO’s "Friends: The Reunion" special features a wide list of guest stars, but Paul Rudd and Cole Sprouse were notably missing. The two actors were supporting characters who played alongside the six main cast members: Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt Leblanc. However, the reunion special’s director, Ben Winston, told The Wrap there was a reason why Rudd and Sprouse weren’t included. 'FRIENDS' CO-CREATORS SAY SITCOM'S LACK OF DIVERSITY WASN'T INTENTIONAL "Well, we couldn’t have everybody on, because it’s only an hour and 45 minutes. And you’ve got to pay attention — the main nub of the show has got to be about the six cast members," Winston told the entertainment news outlet. "So you can’t have too many cameos because of course, there were hundreds of amazing people who were in ‘Friends’ over the years. Sadly, we couldn’t get everybody in." Some of the guest stars who did appear in the 105-minute program for HBO Max had supporting cast roles in the NBC sitcom, including Reese Witherspoon, Larry Hankin, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles,...

LOS ANGELES, California – With Disneyland and California Adventure still closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, Disney announced Monday that an undisclosed number of employees at the Anaheim complex will be left on unpaid leave. Disneyland President Ken Potrock broke the news Monday in a letter to workers, saying the leaves will affect “executives, salaried employees and part-time cast.” “As you know, we have already taken the heartbreaking action of firing thousands of our cast on both coasts,” he wrote in the memo, copies of which were obtained by various media outlets. “We were hoping to open our parks in Anaheim, given our proven ability to operate with responsible health and safety protocols, as we have done at all of our other theme parks around the world, but unfortunately, this has not been the case.” It was unclear how many people would be affected by the permits. NBA legend and four-time champion LeBron James is one of several celebrities who have donated money to help Florida felons participate in this year’s presidential election, according to a report from Yahoo Sports. Philanthropist and New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg set a goal to raise $27 million to help pay for fees and fines so nearly 40,000 felons in the state could be eligible to vote. James has contributed to this cause before. Earlier in the year, he donated $100,000 through his “More Than a Vote” campaign, a nonprofit organization that seeks to encourage more Black citizens to get involved in politics, as reported by The Los Angeles Times. The organization also helps educate voters on how they can make a difference in the country’s social justice issues. “They aren’t just saying, ‘Hey, everybody, let’s go out and vote. They are actually thinking carefully about the underlying issues of voter suppression in the United States,” political science professor Ethan Scheiner stated. In 2018, the state of Florida restored the right to cast a ballot for around 1.4 million citizens...
(CNN)Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden says President Donald Trump can still win the 2020 election because delegitimizing the race's outcome is "how he plays." "I'm one of those folks, or competitors, it's not over till the bell rings. And I feel superstitious when I predict anything other than going to be a hard fight," Biden said in an interview aired on CBS' "60 Minutes" on Sunday when asked whether Trump could still defeat him. "We feel good about where we are. But, you know, I don't underestimate how he plays."Biden said Trump is "trying to sort of delegitimize the election," and that those efforts are "all I think designed to make people wonder whether or not they should, whether it's worth going to vote. Just the intimidation factor."Trump has long sought to cast doubt on the legitimacy of mail-in ballots, repeatedly making false claims about how they are cast and counted. "What really has pleased me is the overwhelming turnout in the states that have early voting," Biden said. Read MoreView Trump and Biden head-to-head polling Biden's comments come as...
Late on Friday night, Chadwick Boseman’s family confirmed in a deeply felt letter that the Black Panther actor had passed away at the age of 43 after a four-year fight with colon cancer. Messages of grief, shock, and love poured in immediately, turning Boseman’s family’s tribute into one of the most retweeted messages in history. Everyone seemed to agree: The world had lost a creative force and one of the great performers of his generation. He was more than T’Challa, but he also was T’Challa to a generation who needed a hero. His passion and thoughtfulness were at the heart of the cultural phenomenon that was Black Panther, and by all accounts, his joy beamed far beyond the screen. “Chadwick’s passing is absolutely devastating,” Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios and chief creative officer, Marvel, said in a statement. “He was our T’Challa, our Black Panther, and our dear friend. Each time he stepped on set, he radiated charisma and joy, and each time he appeared on screen, he created something truly indelible. He embodied a lot of amazing...
