The NFL Draft is abuzz ahead of its Las Vegas debut, but the 49ers are downplaying what might happen at their bachelor party. “It’s going to be a little boring on Day 1,” general manager John Lynch said. Yeah, sure, as if they’ll instead be wine tasting in Napa Valley (wink, wink). The 49ers could become the Vegas Strip’s headliners: “Deebo gets traded! Garoppolo goes, too!!” Lynch could make players vanish like a David Copperfield act. Last year’s move up to the No. 3 overall pick for quarterback Trey Lance also cost them first-round picks tonight and in 2023, plus a third-rounder Friday. So, indeed, it could be a boring first round from Vegas for the Niners. It also could erupt if the 49ers make a trade or two. Here is what to watch, as if you were a surveillance camera hovering over a blackjack table: 1. THE DEEBO DRAMA All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel went public with his trade request last week, when everyone figured the 49ers were working on a contract extension that might not come until later...

Amy Schumer is being blasted online for making an 'insensitive' joke about Alec Baldwin's fatal Rust shooting - while revealing that she had planned to compare the tragedy to Will Smith's assault on Chris Rock during the Oscars before being banned from doing so by her lawyers.   Schumer, 40, co-hosted this year's Oscars ceremony on March 27 alongside Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes, and she spoke out about the events that transpired while doing stand-up on Saturday night at the Mirage Theater in Las Vegas as part of the club's Aces of Comedy series. But the comedian and actress is now facing severe scrutiny after she made light of the fatal Baldwin shooting which took place on the set of his movie Rust last year, and resulted in the death of the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.  Schumer said the best way to 'comfort ourselves' after the 'upsetting' moment between Smith, 53, and Rock, 57, is for her to 'say the Oscar jokes' that she had planned, but 'wasn't allowed to say on TV.'  'It was really upsetting,' she said of the moment Smith...
Getty Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders. The hype surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders is the highest it has been in years thanks to the addition of Davante Adams. The superstar wide receiver has been linked to the team over the past year due to his connection to quarterback Derek Carr. What fans didn’t know was that Adams actually has strong ties to the team, as well. He grew up in East Palo Alto, California, which is less than an hour from Oakland where the Raiders previously played. In his introductory press conference with the team, Adams admitted that he grew up a huge Raiders fan and his family has rooted for the team for years. “It’s a dream come true,” Adams said of joining the Raiders. “In the third-grade yearbook, I said I wanted to be an NFL star or an NBA star and I was wearing a Charles Woodson jersey at the time. It’s been documented forever so I guess you could say it was meant to be.” Read More From Heavy Bet $5, Win...
Magomed Ankalaev feels confident about title fight after first career five rounder. UFC light heavyweight contender Magomed Ankalaev feels some weight has been lifted off of his shoulders after winning his first five-round main event in the promotion. Ankalaev controlled Thiago Santos from start to finish, except for a few brief explosions on the feet from Santos at UFC Vegas 50. He was able to use his wrestling in the later rounds to seal the deal on a victory over a former title challenger in Santos. While Ankalaev wasn’t happy with his overall performance, he was proud of his grit and determination to go five full rounds with one of the UFC’s best. During his UFC Vegas 50 post-fight press conference, he explained how going the distance will prepare him for what could be next. “My goal was to fight finally the full distance, for the five rounds, to be ready to fight for the title shot,” Ankalaev said. “Now I’m completely confident in myself and I’m ready for the big shot.” (insert post-fight video here)Magomed Ankalaev put himself near...
BOSTON (CBS) — Josh McDaniels was once the favorite to become the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Then, he wasn’t. Now, he’s at least in the running again. The Raiders have requested a head coaching interview with McDaniels, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and multiple others on Thursday. It was reported on Wednesday that McDaniels and Patriots director of player personnel Dave Zeigler were no longer the front runners to take over as Vegas’ head coach and general manager, respectively. But the Raiders did interview Ziegler, and now they want to have a chat with McDaniels, so it would appear Mark Davis has had a change of heart. McDaniels is in his second stint as offensive coordinator of the Patriots, and is coming off a successful season where he groomed rookie quarterback Mac Jones. He’s the highest paid coordinator in the NFL, but has expressed interest in another shot as a head coach after his failed stint with the Broncos from 2009-10. McDaniels was set to become the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts in 2018, but...
ADELE’s dramatic cancellation of her Las Vegas concerts came after a series of explosive rows about the staging derailed the production. The superstar left fans — some of whom had paid up to £9,000 for tickets — devastated when she announced this week that her shows at Caesars Palace would not go ahead. 8Adele's cancellation left fans devastated 8Sources say production had long been in jeopardy thanks to behind-the-scenes clashes In a tearful video posted on social media, she blamed the last-minute postponement on “half her crew” being off work with Covid. But our sources say the production had long been in jeopardy thanks to behind-the-scenes clashes, including with acclaimed set designer Esmeralda Devlin. Brit Esmeralda, known as Es, previously worked with Adele on her world tour in 2016. But it is understood she and the Hello singer argued in the run-up to the opening night of her latest concerts. One source told us: “In spite of the set costing millions to put together, Adele was unhappy with the result, and she made her feelings very clear to Es. ‘Too...

David Lee Roth has canceled the remaining shows he was scheduled to play at the House of Blues in Las Vegas amid coronavirus concerns, Fox News Digital has confirmed. The Van Halen frontman, 67, had previously postponed shows scheduled for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day and was to play a total of nine shows as he bid farewell to his career as a rock and roll stage performer. Roth announced he was "throwing in the shoes" back in October during a phone call with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "I am throwing in the shoes. I’m retiring," he said at the time. "This is the first, and only, official announcement." GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN – DECEMBER 25: Baker Mayfield #6 hands the ball to Nick Chubb #24 of the Cleveland Browns during a game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on December 25, 2021 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers defeated the Browns 24-22. (Photo by Stacy Revere/Getty Images) With the way the Las Vegas Raiders need a reset, it’s likely time for them to move on from quarterback Derek Carr as they move forward.  Derek Carr has been a pretty solid quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders throughout the majority of his career. That said, Carr may not be the Raiders best option for their future. The 30-year-old quarterback is an above-average starter in the NFL, but he’s not getting younger and his contract is a little expensive. Still, he could also be worth a lot to a franchise that is in need of a quarterback to help round out their roster and help their team make a run in the playoffs. If the Raiders are looking to hit the reset button on their franchise, that likely means...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr. It was ugly, it was sloppy and it was close to a disaster but the Las Vegas Raiders pulled off the last-minute win over the Cleveland Browns. The game was delayed from Saturday to Monday due to a big COVID-19 outbreak for the Browns. Despite the delay, the team only got one significant player in John Johnson back. They were shorthanded but almost beat the Raiders before kicker Daniel Carlson hit the game-winning field goal. Had Las Vegas ended up losing, it would’ve been a disaster for the team and could’ve led to some serious drama. There was no excuse for them to drop this game considering how many players the Browns were missing. The future of quarterback Derek Carr has been a major talking point in recent weeks as the Raiders mull a rebuild with a new head coach. However, at 7-7, the team is still very much in the playoff race. Carr has heard a lot of the noise regarding him and his team but isn’t ready to give...
Sean O’Malley is focusing on what he can control ahead of his UFC 269 bout with Raulian Paiva Saturday night from Las Vegas, NV. Sean O’Malley will once again open up a UFC pay-per-view main card from Las Vegas, NV to close out the UFC’s numbered events schedule at UFC 269. O’Malley, who is better known as “The ‘Suga’ Show,” will be taking on Raulian Paiva with the goal of increasing his winning streak to three-straight in 2021. At 14-1, O’Malley is coming in with a focused mindset and is willing to take on all challengers that the UFC puts in front of him, regardless of where they might sit within the rankings. He elaborated on the notion that he has developed so-called “haters” during his pre-fight media scrum ahead of Saturday night’s mega pay-per-view extravaganza. “I don’t necessarily enjoy having haters but I don’t get sad that I have haters. They’re gonna watch the fight 100 percent. Someone’s not gonna be watching the fights, then I come on the TV and they’re like ‘nope, not gonna watch.’ Like, that’s not gonna...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders WR DeSean Jackson. Based on his 102-yard performance against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, DeSean Jackson certainly doesn’t look his age. The veteran wide receiver just turned 35-years-old but is proving that he’s still a great deep threat. Though he isn’t going to be able to match some of the consistent production he had earlier in his career, the Las Vegas Raiders need him to continue to be an impact player if they hope to make the playoffs. Jackson remains as focused as ever. Even when younger players try to pay him his respects, he doesn’t want them. “I have been playing against dudes who are like trying to shake my hand and congratulate me and tell me they have been watching me since I was a little kid,” Jackson said Thursday. “I’m like, ‘We can save that until after the game. … I am about to whup your ass.’” This is Jackson’s 14th season in the NFL but he hasn’t won a Super Bowl yet. He doesn’t want anything to take his...
Twitter unloads on UFC flyweight Cody Durden after a xenophobic comment about his opponent, Aoriqileng. UFC flyweight Cody Durden secured an impressive first win in the UFC octagon over Aoriqileng at UFC Vegas 43. But, he threw it all away with his highly controversial post-fight comments. Durden showcased toughness and grit in a tightly-contested bout with Aoriqileng from start to finish. He was able to withstand Aoriqileng’s barrage on the feet and grind out a unanimous decision win. Durden’s win was overshadowed by what he said afterward. When UFC commentator and former champion Daniel Cormier asked him about his performance, he said that he intended to “send [Aoriqileng] back to China” with the win. There were an awkward few seconds of silence from Cormier and the broadcast crew before the interview was abruptly stopped. The small crowd in attendance at the UFC APEX sounded appalled by Durden’s comments too. Check out the moment below. “Send him back to #China where he came from.” ????????‍♂️ Fuck it USA!!! USA!!! Rebilas/USA TODAY Sports (Arnette); Mark J. Rebilas/USA TODAY Sports (Cooper); Scott Galvin/USA TODAY Sports (Beckham); • I want to make this much clear: I’m not blaming the city of Las Vegas for what’s happened over the last week with Raiders’ 2020 first-round picks, Henry Ruggs and Damon Arnette. What those guys did, they’re very obviously responsible for, and they’re paying the price now. But there is something that’s lingering under the surface here that’s worth exploring when it comes to the...

Bodycam footage revealed the aftermath of a two-car crash involving Democratic Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak on Oct. 17. In the video, which was released Thursday by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Sisolak can be seen sitting on the curb as he interacts with his wife Kathy, a medical professional and law enforcement officers. Sisolak said he attempted to make a left turn while the traffic light was yellow, as opposed to yielding. He was later cited for failing to yield. The other driver was reportedly going 62 mph hour in a 45 mph zone, and was cited for speeding. Sisolak was going 15 mph at the time of the crash.
