    A 72-year-old woman had to be extricated from her vehicle in the area after rolling over and crashing into a tree after suffering a medical emergency, authorities announced. In Woodstock, members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported rollover crash on Glenford Wittenberg Road at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Friday, May 13. Upon arrival, investigators said that deputies located the vehicle, which was on its side resting against a tree. The driver, Judy Pavone, age 72, of Mount Tremper in the Town of Shandaken in Ulster County, was trapped inside the vehicle and later extricated by fire and EMS personnel. The Sheriff’s Office said she was transported to Health Alliance Broadway Campus in Kingston for treatment of her injuries after being freed from the vehicle. According to the Sheriff, the preliminary investigation determined that Pavone suffered a medical emergency while driving, causing her to lose control of her vehicle and overturn.     A Virginia man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for his involvement in a car crash that killed a 65-year-old woman from Ashburn, authorities said.  Ryan Lanza, 20, surrendered to police after an investigation revealed he was driving at an excessive speed and caused a fatal accident last week, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said. Initial investigation revealed Deborah Michel was traveling west on Windmill Drive when she struck another vehicle going north on Claiborne Parkway, the office said.  The driver of that vehicle, later determined ad Lanza, was going 30 miles per hour over the 45 mile per hour speed limit just before the crash, according to officials.  Michel was taken to a local hospital where she later died while Lanza was treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening, the office said. After turning himself in, Lanza was released on a $5,000 bond. 
    MONTGOMERY, Minn. (WCCO) — Authorities say an electrical worker died Tuesday morning after being run over by a skid loader. It happened along Highway 99 near County Road 140, according to the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Tanner Dosch, an employee of the Minnesota Valley Electrical Company. The sheriff’s office said Dosch was riding in the skid loader’s bucket and another MVEC employee was driving. As the vehicle left the highway and drove into the ditch, Dosch’s harness rope was pulled under the vehicle, which caused Dosch to be pulled from the bucket and run over. Dosch was pronounced dead at the scene, despite lifesaving efforts. Dosch’s death is being investigated by the Minnesota State Patrol, the sheriff’s office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
    Human remains found last week near Shaver Lake in Fresno County were identified as those of a woman missing since December, authorities said. Dental records confirmed the identity of Fresno resident Samantha Tomlinson, 37, who was reported missing by a friend Dec. 3 when she did not return home from shopping, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday in a release. After the report was filed, a search and rescue team began checking Sierra National Forest and Sequoia National Park with the help of the California Highway Patrol and the U.S. Forest Service. Neither Tomlinson nor her vehicle was found. California Rodney King’s youngest daughter, Tristan, reported missing from Santa Monica Tristan King, 29, was reported missing to Santa Monica police on Friday.     An Alameda County sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized early Sunday morning when a suspected drunken driver ran a red light in Oakland and slammed into the deputy’s vehicle, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. The deputy’s SUV was hit around 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in the San Antonio neighborhood, the sheriff’s office reported. The deputy’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, though no further details were given about the deputy’s condition.     The vehicle used by an escaped Alabama inmate and a missing corrections officer who is suspected of helping him escape was found in Tennessee on Thursday night, a week after the two were last seen, according to authorities. The Williamson County Sheriff's Office does not believe the inmate, 38-year-old Casey White, and the officer, 56-year-old Vicky White, who are not related, are still in the area of Bethesda, Tennessee.     FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities in Tennessee say they have located an abandoned vehicle used by a man wanted in Alabama for murder and the jail official who disappeared with him. Williamson County Sheriff said via Twitter Monday that a vehicle used by escaped Alabama inmate Casey White and former Correctional Officer Vicky White was found in Bethesda. “There is NO sign the two are still in our area. The SUV was reported abandoned a week ago. It was identified last night,” the sheriff said. A nationwide manhunt is ongoing for Casey White, who was awaiting trial in a capital murder case, and Vicky White, the assistant director of corrections for the jail in Lauderdale County, Alabama U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said Thursday that the two, who aren’t related, are “regarded as extremely dangerous,” and the U.S. Marshals Service has taken over leading the search.     An Ashburn woman has died in a recent Loudoun County car crash, authorities said.  Deborah Michel, 65, was killed in a crash that happened at the intersection of Windmill Drive and Claiborne Parkway in Ashburn around 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook. Initial investigation revealed was traveling west on Windmill Drive when she struck another vehicle going north on Claiborne Parkway, the office said.  Michel was taken to a local hospital where she later died. The driver of the other vehicle, an adult male, was also taken to a local hospital for treatment, the office continued.  The crash is under investigation.     A Florida deputy assigned to a beach ran over a woman who was sunbathing on Wednesday afternoon. Deputy Todd Brien was speaking to several pedestrians on the St. Pete Beach when he was dispatched to a call at another location, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. When he made a right turn from his parked position, his vehicle struck Robin Diffenderfer, 23, while she was lying on her back, the sheriff's office said. CAPITOL POLICE OFFICER SUSPENDED AFTER WEAPON DISCHARGES INSIDE BREAK ROOM The front, driver-side tire of Brien's vehicle, a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, drove over Diffenderfer’s right side and mid- to upper-back, the press release said.     MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – A 20-year-old Florida man drove a stolen Mercedes SUV as fast as 178 mph during a chase Monday night through six counties along Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 95, authorities said. Deputies deployed stop sticks to flatten the vehicle’s tires and a K-9 named Zorro then helped secure the fleeing suspect, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Megan Boser and Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Deputy Dale Haberer fired their service handguns in the deadly encounter on April 28, which took place near the town of Bowlus, according to the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office. Gullett and friend Justin Lonich, 48, were driving to Little Valley on dirt roads off Highway 44 on April 14 when their vehicle became stuck in snow. They spent the night in the vehicle and in the morning its battery was dead. The sheriff’s office said the two tried to walk to the highway but Gullett fell behind because the soles of her boots came off. Lonich couldn’t find her in heavy snowfall, so he sought shelter and built a campfire. The next day he found a gravel road but again had to shelter overnight. Investigators say the two girls are considered runaways and neither are driving age.     Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department tactical units are responding to a rail yard in Commerce after a man suspected of driving a stolen SUV led authorities on a high-speed chase from the Downey area before barricading himself inside the vehicle. The incident was reported around 2:25 p.m. at a rail yard in the area of Noakes and Calada streets in Commerce, sheriff’s officials said. Personnel from the department’s Special Enforcement Bureau were called to help deputies from the Norwalk and East Los Angeles stations, and crisis negotiators were on hand and trying to make contact with the suspect, officials said.     WINFIELD, Kan. (AP) — Three sheriff’s deputies were wounded by gunfire and a suspect was killed during a shootout in central Kansas on Thursday, law enforcement authorities said. Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti said the deputies were responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle on U.S. 77 north of Winfield. When they made contact with a vehicle, three deputies were shot, Falletti said. A female alone in the car was found dead at the scene, Falletti said. The deputies were taken to a Wichita hospital and are in stable condition, he said. Authorities did not release any additional information.
