So we’re clear — because I don’t want to be blacklisted by some of you fools — just because I’m reporting on what a Russian Slapping Champion said about Will Smith, that doesn’t mean I want to take warm showers with Putin and have his baby, okay? So just give your moral panic, your Cause Du Jour, your latest display of virtue that’s never going to fill the empty hole inside of you a rest… Thank you so much for your attention and participation. Russian Slapping Champion Vasily Kamotskiy, a Siberian behemoth nicknamed “Dumpling,” has 170,000 Instagram followers and was not at all impressed with Will Smith’s attempt to slap the shit out of comedian Chris Rock during Sunday night’s basement-rated Oscar telecast. “It was a weak blow,” Kamotskiy said, according to Russian media. “He didn’t put his body into it.” “And he struck from top to bottom,” the champ added. “You need to strike from the bottom up, or at least from the side. In general, he hit like a girl. Just like they hit in all [American] movies.”...

TIKTOK is reportedly testing longer-length videos, despite studies that show its majority of users have short attention spans. The social media platform has been testing videos lengths of up to five minutes between August 2021 and February 2022, according to a new report by Wired. 2TikTok is testing the idea of five-minute-long videos on the app Initially, TikTok creators could only upload content up to 60-seconds long, however, in 2021, the company let users create videos up to three minutes long. TikTok made the move to increase the video length regardless of studies conducted by their internal team that found a majority of its users have trouble concentrating on longer content. In fact, nearly 50 percent of users surveyed by TikTok said that they found watching videos longer than a minute to be stressful. Still, these statistics are not stopping the company – whose snappy content propelled them to success – from moving forward with longer videos. For starters, lengthier videos not only garner more attention but also allow the platform to sell more ads, which equals...
While Microsoft has said that Windows 11 will be better for computer gaming, those planning to buy computers with a pre-installed operating system should be wary. Thanks to standard security measures, the performance of games installed on the operating system can be up to 25% worse than usual. There is a problem with the virtualization based security system (called VPS) used since Windows 10. Typically, this security system creates an isolated subsystem within the operating system that not only prevents unwanted and malicious files from entering your computer, but also utilizes physical and digital resources. Microsoft describes the process as follows: “VBS uses hardware resources to create and isolate a portion of device memory. In this way, Windows significantly improves the security of your computer and protects you from malicious files and applications that try to avoid traditional virus protection. “To date, this feature is primarily used in commercial versions of Windows 10. If you upgrade your device from an existing Windows 10 to Windows 11, do not worry, as your OS is unlikely to have VPS...

(CNN)At this time last year, the world was just starting to understand how serious a novel coronavirus pandemic could get. Only a few weeks after we first heard the word "Covid-19," we were closing our foundation's offices and joining billions of people worldwide in adjusting to radically different ways of living. For us, the days became a blur of video meetings, startling news alerts, and microwaved meals — and we are well aware of how lucky we are compared to others. Over the past year, Covid-19 has killed over two million people worldwide, sickened millions more, and thrust the global economy into a devastating recession.Bill Gates works from home during quarantine in 2020.The experience of living through a pandemic has driven home what many people in developing countries knew all too well already: Health is the bedrock of any thriving society. If your health is compromised — or if you're worried about catching a deadly disease — it's hard to concentrate on anything else. Staying alive and well becomes your priority to the necessary detriment of all other things. If...

Kentucky coach John Calipari doesn’t run the Knicks. It just seems that way. In a Zoom call to discuss Kentucky’s season-opening tournament, Calipari was asked about the references to the “Kentucky Knicks.” His long answer preached patience and predicted a potential rising of new signee Nerlens Noel. Calipari, perhaps intentionally, also referred to himself as being a member of the NBA franchise. “The Knicks are on a different path,” Calipari said after their modest free agency. “You may not see the results right away overnight. It took us a while to get here. It’s going to take a little while to get us where we want to go. So let this thing play out and, in the end, everyone will be pleased.” The Knicks have four Kentucky players on their roster – the last one arriving over the weekend when Oklahoma City big man Noel signed a one-year, $5 million deal. see also Kentucky draft pick shows Knicks all-in on gospel of John Calipari Kentucky coach John Calipari could not contain his glee that... WE read this week about a 50-year-old man who went to a Tiger King-style petting zoo in Florida and paid more than a hundred quid to spend some time cuddling and stroking a black leopard. Can you guess what happened next? ⚠️ Read our US election live blog for the very latest on the 2020 race to the White House 9Supporters of Joe Biden clash with Donald Trump votersCredit: AP:Associated Press Yes, you’re absolutely right. The leopard decided it didn’t want to be petted so it bit the top of the man’s head off. It makes you wonder. What sort of person will walk into a leopard’s cage thinking that soon, he will be walking out again? And the answer is: An American. I once said, on television, after I’d been chased across Alabama by a gang of tooled-up, squeal-like-a-piggy good ol’ boys that in certain parts of the States, people had very obviously started to mate with vegetables. And after this week’s election debacle, I think I may have had a point. There are now suggestions that a full-blown...

Crystal Cox/Insider As long as you get ample maskless face-to-face time with your kids, and they play with each other without masks, the coverings shouldn't impact their development.   Smiles and frowns are only one part of our nonverbal communication repertoire, so emphasize gestures, body language, and tone of voice to compensate.  Alternatives like face shields can also allow kids to recognize adults and read their facial expressions and lips.  Have a coronavirus quandary for Anna? Submit it anonymously here.  Visit Insider's homepage for more stories. Dear Anna, My kids, 3 and 5, are pretty good about wearing masks in public — in some ways, for them, it's a fun accessory to showcase their love of dogs and dinosaurs.  But I worry about what impact other people's mask-wearing has on them. Will they grow up fearful of others, not seeing that the stranger staring at them is actually smiling at their cuteness? Will they have dulled emotional intelligence from being unable to see other kids' facial expressions? Will they smile less themselves having fewer smiles to mimic? Please ease...
