Extraordinary footage showing the Queen as a carefree young girl, taken from the royal family's private collection of home videos, is set to be featured in upcoming BBC documentary Elizabeth: The Queen Unseen. A trailer released by BBC on Thursday evening showed clips taken from hundreds of recordings released to the British Film Institute (BFI) and the BBC for the landmark TV documentary marking the Platinum Jubilee.  In one clip, the Queen is seen on the Royal Yacht Britannia, learning how to skip on the deck of the vessel, while another sees her alongside her sister Margaret and their beloved father King George VI onboard HMS Vanguard in 1947. Another excerpt, picked out by the BBC after the broadcaster trawled through over 400 films, sees the Queen as a teenager, dressed in a linen blue and white suit, linking arms with her grandmother Queen Mary.  Scroll down for video
PARTS of Prince Harry's battle against the Government's decision to take away his police protection in the UK will be kept secret, a court ruled. The Duke of Sussex is suing the Home Office because it refused to spend taxpayers' money on bodyguards. 3Prince Harry is facing his first High Court battle todayCredit: AP Harry, 37, who quit royal duty and privileges that come with the job to live in California with Meghan Markle two years ago, says he feels "unsafe" in the UK. He wants to fund his own Met Police armed bodyguards but the Home Office refused and insiders are saying police are not "guns for hire". Harry is also arguing that his private protection team in the US does not have adequate jurisdiction abroad or access to UK intelligence information which is needed to keep his family safe. Both sides last month argued at the High Court for some parts of the court documents in the case to be kept private. Damaging winds are once again buffeting the Monarchy. Gales of mockery and criticism threaten to topple the Queen’s two eldest sons like shaky palace chimney pots. Meanwhile, far to the west lurks Hurricane Harry, whipping up a storm with lawsuits and memoirs. Calm amid the tempest, the frail Queen with her trusty walking stick stands resolute and unbowed. Yet, despite her fortitude, the cold light of day reveals a ravaged Royal landscape. Prince Andrew’s abject settlement with his accuser Virginia Giuffre reminds us that absolution first requires contrition. Now, hostile speculation turns to which pocket the publicly subsidised Royal Family will dig into to make Ms Giuffre go away. Meghan Markle called two Republican senators to urge them to vote in favor of paid parental leave, it emerged on Wednesday - shocking the politicians with her latest foray into political activism. The move is just the beginning for the Los Angeles-born mother of two, as she is now hoping to be part of 'a working group to work on paid leave long term,' according to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.  She called Republican Sens. Susan Collins from Maine Shelley Moore Capito from West Virginia, both of whom said they were shocked that Markle called out of the blue and noted that she even used her royal title to lobby for the cause. And it comes after she wrote a letter to the top Democrats directly lobbying them on the issue, and then buying gift cards for Starbucks for workers at an activism group in a high-profile stunt designed to raise awareness of the cause. The Duchess of Sussex on October 20 wrote to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer advocating for paid family leave - a letter that was handed...

Sir Andrew McFarlane, the president of the Family Division of the High Court, made the order on Thursday, according to multiple outlets. McFarlane, who has not seen or been told of the will's contents other than the date of its execution and the identity of its appointed executor, ruled that a private process can be held after the 90-year period to determine if the documents should be unsealed, the BBC reports. "I have held that, because of the constitutional position of the Sovereign, it is appropriate to have a special practice in relation to royal wills," McFarlane said in a written judgment, per the outlet. "There is a need to enhance the protection afforded to truly private aspects of the lives of this limited group of...
It wasn’t necessary for Prince Harry to ask Queen Elizabeth II permission to write his upcoming tell-all. On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex told Fox News the royal recently engaged in a private discussion with his family about the planned book. Prince Harry and Prince William’s possible reconciliation may be a slow-going process. The two have reportedly faced a rift since Harry, 36, and his wife Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties – possibly even longer considering reports that William, 39, confronted his younger brother about the speedy rate of his relationship with Markle. On Saturday, the pair reunited for the first time in over a year for the funeral of their grandfather, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh -- and it was revealed that they had a long chat, which according to a recent report, was due to William's wife Kate Middleton acting as a "peacemaker." However, the report also suggests that William wants to take things slow when it comes to patching up their relationship. A friend of the royal family told Vanity Fair contributor and royal expert Katie Nicholl that the brothers put aside their drama for the time being at the request of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. LONDON (AP) — Prince Philip, the irascible and tough-minded husband of Queen Elizabeth II who spent more than seven decades supporting his wife in a role that both defined and constricted his life, has died, Buckingham Palace said Friday. He was 99. His life spanned nearly a century of European history, starting with his birth into the Greek royal family and ending as Britain’s longest serving consort during a turbulent reign in which the thousand-year-old monarchy was forced to reinvent itself for the 21st century. He was known for his occasionally racist and sexist remarks — and for gamely fulfilling more than 20,000 royal engagements to boost British interests at home and abroad. He headed hundreds of charities, founded programs that helped British schoolchildren participate in outdoor adventures, and played a prominent part in raising his four children, including his eldest son, Prince Charles, heir to the throne. “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” the palace said....
Prince William is allegedly upset that Prince Harry shared details of their private conversation with Gayle King. The "CBS This Morning" co-host announced that the brothers have been in touch after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month. "Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father, too," the 66-year-old revealed, who said she spoke to the couple after the televised tell-all. "The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive, but they are glad they at least started a conversation." William allegedly didn't take the news too well. "William was left reeling," a source claimed to Us Weekly on Thursday. "He says it was a cheap shot to leak details of their private call and that he twisted the truth." Prince William isn’t very happy that his brother, Prince Harry, has shared their private conversation with others. Harry, 36, has dominated headlines for days now following his bombshell interview with Meghan Markle and Oprah Winfrey in which he and his wife discussed their struggles with the royal family. Not long after the interview aired, William told the press that he hadn’t spoken with his younger brother about the interview. Days later, journalist Gayle King revealed that she’d spoken with Harry, who disclosed to her that he had conversations that were "not productive" with William and their father Prince Charles. The specifics of the interview – including what exactly was discussed – were not shared, though Harry’s interview included claims of racism and more against unnamed members of the institution. Royal warfare erupted again last night after Harry and Meghan revealed deeply private family conversations to a journalist friend. They told Gayle King that the prince had finally spoken to his father and brother following the explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. Hours later, Miss King disclosed on American TV that the talks 'were not productive'. The breakfast show host also suggested that Meghan was unhappy no one in the Royal Family had thought to telephone her.  And, in a thinly-veiled threat, the presenter said the duchess had 'documents to back up everything she said on Oprah's interview'. The fact the Sussexes chose to reveal sensitive discussions between senior members of the Royal Family met with an icy response from Buckingham Palace. 'None of the households – the Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – will be giving a running commentary on private conversations,' said a senior royal source. Harry and Meghan have prompted fresh outrage after sharing private conversations with Prince Charles and Prince William with US journalist Gayle King It was clear,...
Royal commentator ROBERT JOBSON The only winner in this latest Meghan Markle debacle is billionaire Oprah Winfrey. No wonder the Palace aides tried to keep the chat show Queen and the fame hungry royal duchess apart early in her tenure as a working royal. I watched a live feed of the CBS broadcast as the self-obsessed Duke and Duchess of Sussex poured out their troubles to millions. It felt like I was intruding on private grief. In places it was terribly self-indulgent and cringe-making, at times hard to watch. Meghan Markle, whose acting skills have been over-blown, gives a stilted and over-staged performance. The dramatic pauses are so obvious. But it is not how she says it but what she says that is most damaging. To brand the Royal Family racist without being specific is appalling. They both claim a member of the Royal Family questioned what Archie's skin tone would be like when he was born. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke to Oprah Winfrey in the interview shown overnight She suggests, wrongly, that Archie was...
