A MUM has told how her daughter saved her life after a simple itch turned out to be SKIN CANCER. Gill Liiv-Rochester began scratching her back repeatedly but did not know there was a mole on her skin. 2The mum-of-two from County Durham didn't think much of the niggling spot on her back and initially ignored the issueCredit: Gill Liiv-Rochester/NCJ MEDIA The mum-of-two from County Durham didn't think much of the niggling spot on her back and initially ignored the issue. But daughter Emme, 13, became more and more concerned about her mums incessant scratching and urged her to make doctor's appointment to find out what was going on. Gill went along to the doctors who later discovered two severe and aggressive malignant melanomas where she had been scratching. The 36-year-old told ChronicleLive : "Looking back now I didn't realise how exhausted I was and my skin was really dry. "I thought it would be nothing or something very minor. "When I went to the doctors, they asked how long I had had the mole on my shoulder but I...
Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) went on the record to confirm a highly-confrontational encounter she had with Republican colleague Jim Jordan (OH) during the storming of the U.S. Capitol. As the nation observes the first anniversary of January 6th, Cheney has drawn a great deal of media coverage as one of the few Republican lawmakers to consistently hold former President Donald Trump responsible for the riot his supporters carried out to overturn his election defeat. The congresswoman and her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, both spoke to the media on Thursday, sharing their disappointment for how Republicans have conducted themselves in the insurgency’s aftermath. During her media engagements, Congresswoman Cheney spoke to Michael Barbaro of New York Times’ “The Daily” podcast, who asked her about an anecdote Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker published months ago in their book I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump’s Catastrophic Final Year. One of the most interesting parts from the book delves into how Cheney was being evacuated out of Congress when she emphatically rebuked Jordan — a staunch...
WE HAVE heard countless horror stories about toxic mothers-in-law, or monster-in-laws, as they have been nicknamed. But one woman has shared her experience with her rude and “combative” father-in-law. 3A woman has taken to the internet to vent about her father-in-lawCredit: Getty 3Her father-in-law says she needs to 'get over' her miscarriages as she goes through cancer treatment, and he nor his wife sees anything wrong with how he actsCredit: Getty The exhausted woman anonymously posted on Reddit to vent about her relationship with her father-in-law and gain outside perspective about her situation.  “My husband and I have struggled with my in-laws from day one,” she began, adding that she has been married to her husband for six years at the time of her post.  “[My in-laws] have been very divisive towards our marriage; his mom is way more covert and passive-aggressive, but his dad is very combative towards me.  “Calling me controlling, attacking me and my relationships with my family, telling my husband he never used to be this way until he married me ... they do NOT understand...
A BRIDE-TO-BE has revealed that her stepmum and father have concocted a fake 'work policy' so that they don't have to go to her upcoming wedding. Her stepmum wrote: "Bad news... new policy at your dad's work. If you go out of state you have to quarantine for 10 days after. "Due to the fact that he can't go for 10 days without pay we won't be able to come to the wedding. "If you still want to come up this summer we would love to have a reception with you guys with the family." In the exchange, the bride-to-be then asked when her dad would be home so she could speak with him. "He is already upset about this so is there something...
President Joe Biden made a desperate last minute phone call to Senator Joe Manchin on the day before the Senate was due to vote on his American Rescue Plan to beg him to support the $1.9T stimulus deal, telling him 'you're really f***ing me,' according to a new book.  Biden considered Manchin, the most moderate Democrat in the Senate, a key roadblock ahead of the critical vote to pass the expensive stimulus deal, as reported by Fox Business.  Manchin ended up voting with majority of the democratic lawmakers and the relief package was passed in a 50-49 vote. The West Virginia Senator thus helped hand the president his first legislative victory.  Democratic Senator Joe Manchin (pictured), the most moderate Democrat in the Senate, was a key roadblock ahead of the critical vote to pass Biden's expensive stimulus deal back in March 2020 President Joe Biden allegedly told Manchin in March of last year that if he didn't back his $1.9trillion Covid-19 stimulus package, 'you're really f***ing me,' according to a new book by veteran journalists. The madness began the moment we touched down. The Heathrow arrivals hall swarmed with photographers, some trading punches for the best shot. A two-deep ring of police officers had to force a path through the jostling crowd to a waiting limousine. Cameramen on bikes chased us down the motorway to Central London before, finally, we swooped into the secret underground entrance of an exclusive £1,000-a-night hotel. Pamela Anderson and rock-star husband Tommy Lee had landed. London was going wild. And I was by their side for one of the most extraordinary weeks of my life. At the time – December 1995 – Baywatch was the most popular television programme on the planet, with Pam approaching the very peak of her fame. A softly spoken girl from a sleepy coastal town in Canada, she had become an international sex symbol thanks largely to double-D breast implants and lingering shots of her jiggling along the beach, squeezed into the famous red swimsuit. Yet, despite the crowds of adoring fans, there was a shadow hanging over the newlyweds when they flew in to...
Dear Moneyist, I wanted to ask you a moral or ethical question concerning COVID-19. Here’s my situation: my sister-in-law who currently lives with me has tested positive for COVID as of yesterday. I have not been tested within the past 30 days. I work in a long-term care facility/nursing home, in Pennsylvania as a certified nursing assistant. I informed my employer of the positive case in my home. I volunteered to stay home 14 days because I don’t want to risk infection to my residents I take care of, or fellow employees. My employer says they want me to wear a mask and face shield and come to work, and make sure other employees are wearing a mask properly OR go get tested again. I do NOT want to put my residents at risk and I refuse to go through that painful test again. They said they are my only two choices. Force me to work as a possible carrier or force me to test again, which I feel is against my rights. Can they give me this...

The nine-term Republican Iowa congressman and kingmaker in his state’s crucial presidential caucuses told the Star Newspaper Group he was done in House GOP Leader Kevin O. McCarthy (R.-Calif.) after years of challenging the compromises made by the House GOP leadership. “I have five different sources, who have informed me that Kevin McCarthy actively and aggressively was seeking to convince President Donald Trump to endorse my primary opponent Feenstra within at least two-and-a-half weeks out and all the way up to primary day itself,” said Rep. Stephen A. King, who was beaten by state Sen. Randall L. Feenstra in the June 3 primary. “When in history has anybody gone to that kind of length to—I’ll just say—scrub out the people, who speak up for the principles of the platform and the party and who are effective doing it,” he said. “And, who, by the way, to some degree neutralize the establishment agenda, which is being driven by our leadership.” House GOP campaign committee leader attacks King week before 2018 midterm King got the first taste...
