Who wants to end up like this? The unvaccinated, apparently. Facebook is a menace. COVID-19 is a menace. Conservatism is a cesspool. Together, those three ingredients have created a toxic stew of malevolent death and devastation. We can talk about all those things in the abstract, look at the numbers and statistics, and catch the occasional whiff of seditionist right-wing rhetoric. But I hadn’t really fully understood just how horrifying that combination of right-wing extremism, Facebook, and a killer virus was until I became a regular at the Herman Cain Awards subreddit. This series will document some of those stories, so we are aware of what the other side is doing to our country. Today’s cautionary tale is “Shooter.” Shooter is so tough. He’s got big assault rifles, high-caliber rounds, a man’s man.  COVID-19 is so fake, everything that is dead is dead from COVID-19, ha ha ha. The deer should’ve worn a mask ha ha ha. Why, Shooter won’t go to the hospital every time he gets a sniffle because he’s a big boy. He can handle the flu just fine without...
President Biden opened up about his conflict with the more progressive side of the Democratic Party, arguing in a recent interview that he encounters criticism for not embracing a socialist agenda. "The progressives don’t like me because I’m not prepared to take on what I would say and they would say is a socialist agenda," Biden told The New York Times this week. Columnist David Brooks wrote that Biden was suspicious of generous college debt forgiveness and that people "who take the big risks to generate wealth should reap the big rewards." Those comments come as Biden faces pressure from within his party to adopt sweeping environmental and economic policies like the Green New Deal.  ILHAN OMAR'S DAUGHTER, A PROMINENT CLIMATE ACTIVIST, ADDS COMMUNIST HAMMER AND SICKLE TO TWITTER BIO Biden does believe in large economic proposals but aligns more with the working class rather than academic and elite strains of the Democratic Party, Brooks wrote.   "The risk is not trying to go big," Biden said, according to the Times. "If we stay small, I don’t know how we...
Sen. Bill Hagerty of Tennessee is seeking to force social media giants including Facebook and YouTube to carry content they don’t want, a step the Republican argued is constitutional and necessary to counter unfair online censorship. With a new anti-Big Tech bill he introduced last week, Hagerty is trying to ensure that people have the freedom of speech on social media platforms by requiring the platforms to carry content that might violate their own standards and guidelines, such as hate speech or politically sensitive materials. The bill, the 21st Century FREE Speech Act, would require all online platforms that have 100 million users or more per month to act like common carriers or businesses of public accommodation, similar to utility companies or telecommunications companies, which can't discriminate easily against consumers who are willing to pay fees. This would mean that private entities, such as Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube, would be forced to carry content that they are free to remove today. “My bill is forcing them, because their unique position as a common carrier, is forcing them to allow nondiscriminatory...

Mayim, 45, revealed that there were several different "factors" that only the production team would be aware of. She told Us Weekly: "The way that I described the show ending was there are a lot of factors that the public doesn’t get to know about, about what goes into the decisions behind why a show doesn’t continue." However, the actress believes that it was the right time that the show ended, giving the cast a chance to explore other opportunities. She added: "I think as someone who was grateful to work alongside Jim and eager to see the rest of what all of our lives held for us, I think there was a general feeling like it was time for us to move into something different."...
Andre Drummond has been dubbed “Big Penguin” by fans on the internet, and while it isn’t the worst nickname to have, it isn’t very threatening either. During a press conference after Tuesday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets, the Los Angeles Lakers center was asked about the origins of the avian nickname. Drummond told the reporter, “Bron came up to me one day and said ‘Yo, is your nickname ‘Big Penguin?’ I said, ‘Man, don’t know where that came from or how it started or who came up with the name. All I know is somebody must have found out that penguins are one of my favorite animals and they kind of just, I guess, put the two and two together.” Just how much does Drummond like penguins? Well, when former teammate Greg Monroe asked him what his favorite movie was, Drummond responded, “Happy Feet” (his other favorites include “March of the Penguins” and “Happy Feet 2”). During the offseason, Drummond once made a Vine featuring him in a penguin costume; and he proudly owns signature socks that showcase...

He said: "I just watch Tyson. Every single time we're in the gym together my eyes are peeled, I'm like a sponge. "Everything that he does I'm watching very closely. And have done as a kid. I was in the background for a long time. "When he was in camp for Klitschko I was never saying nothing but I was like a sponge watching everything he was doing. "I thought 'my time is going to come' and I'm going to need everything I see here. And that's exactly what I see to this day....

President Donald Trump is ready to sign a “big, beautiful stimulus,” he said during a Thursday night town hall, despite ongoing talks that include skeptics in the Republican-controlled Senate and, earlier in the month, when he said he was done negotiating. Trump’s willingness might be a ray of hope for Americans badly in need of money, but a new survey suggests many people aren’t waiting for more government assistance before getting their financial affairs in order. People appear to be paying down debt, and saving money for another rainy day. Economic impact payments distributed in March were mostly used to increase savings accounts and pay down debt, according to a study published this week by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. And if there is a second stimulus check? “Respondents are expecting to spend an average 14% on essential items and an average 7% on non-essential items,” the Fed said. “Our survey results indicate that households expect to consume even smaller shares of a potential second round of stimulus payments, while they expect to use a higher share to pay...
"Tiger King" star Carole Baskin has been making headlines since the documentary premiered on Netflix back in March but that doesn't mean she approves of everyone's impersonation of her. Baskin revealed she really doesn't like "Saturday Night Live" star Chloe Fineman's portrayal of her. “I could just slap that woman! [Laughs]," Baskin admitted on The Pet Show podcast with Dennis Quaid and Jimmy Jellinek from AudioUp. CAROLE BASKIN IS 'READY TO ASSIST' IN RELOCATING JOE EXOTIC'S ANIMALS AFTER GAINING CONTROL OF HIS FORMER ZOO "This whole, 'My kitty, meow, meow, kitty, meow, and then she would just say these really weird words all in a row. That all became popular, I guess, in popular culture and people wanted me to talk like that on the Cameos. And I’m like, ‘I have no idea how to talk like that. That is not how I speak,'" she said. Baskin also relayed a message to another "SNL" star, Kate McKinnon, who is going to play the big cat lover in an upcoming scripted TV series. “[Kate] has not reached out to me and I really hope that she does before...
There’s always a certain level of pandemonium in any successful attempt to take on the Muppets. It doesn’t matter if it’s a stage show (The Muppet Show) or an attempt to revive that stage show (2011’s The Muppets), or if they’re venturing into tales about following your dreams (The Muppet Movie, The Muppets Take Manhattan), playing around with genre (The Great Muppet Caper), or adapting a classic novel (The Muppet Christmas Carol). They can bend and shape themselves into any role and use humor the works on different levels for kids and adults to create something that’s both incredibly silly and earnest. (CNN)President Donald Trump sees the world in a very black-and-white way: There are people who love him and people who don't. Or, put another way: There are people who are loyal to him and those who are always out to get him. It's a deeply simplistic way to think of life and the people in it. It's also hugely selfish, always believing that every action -- and equal and opposite reaction -- are all about you, and how people feel about you.Which brings me to how the President has responded to a series of Supreme Court decisions over the past few weeks."The Supreme Court sends case back to Lower Court, arguments to continue," Trump tweeted Thursday morning on the court's ruling on a subpoena of his financial records by the Manhattan district attorney. "This is all a political prosecution. I won the Mueller Witch Hunt, and others, and now I have to keep fighting in a politically corrupt New York. Not fair to this Presidency or Administration!"He added: "Courts in the past have given 'broad deference'. BUT NOT ME!"Read MoreWhen the...
Christine Feinstein (L) and husband Zach.THE FEINSTEIN GROUP Imagine a sun-drenched California vineyard. Row upon row of leafy green vines fill the undulating hills of the Central Coast landscape. But as you reach the center of Halter Ranch’s 281-acre vineyards, a monster appears. It’s not, however, a “Game of Thrones” dragon breathing fire, but rather the Ancestry Tree which dates from the same War of the Roses time frame. The gargantuan iron oak seems impossibly broad. Indeed, it is the world’s largest Coast Live Oak. The multiple gnarled trunks rise, but the branches are so long that they bend earthbound again creating a natural pergola which filters the sunlight to dapple the ground like a romantic fairyland. It’s here, drunk with love, and perhaps some wonderful Paso Robles meritage blend, that Zach Feinstein proposed to Christine Padilla, his long time business partner. For a couple in their early 30s, they’ve had extraordinary success. In six short years, they’ve together developed a diverse portfolio of four successful restaurant concepts in northern Pinellas through savvy and hard work: Dunedin’s Black Pearl, The...
