Getty Bleacher Report called head coach Frank Reich, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and the Indianapolis Colts winners from the 2022 NFL schedule release. The Indianapolis Colts are one of just three NFL teams that will begin the season with two straight road games. But there’s still a lot to like about the 2022 schedule for the Colts. At least that’s what NFL writer Ian Wharton of Bleacher Report says. He labeled the Colts one of his two winners from the 2022 NFL schedule release on May 12. “The Colts are already off to an advantageous start in 2022 after evaluating their schedule,” Wharton wrote. “They have the easiest schedule, according to DraftKings’ team win projections.” ALL the latest Colts news straight to your inbox! Pete Carroll, Seattle Seahawks. (Photo by Steph Chambers/Getty Images) The Seattle Seahawks have plenty of opportunities to play spoiler throughout next season. Even if the Seattle Seahawks are not expected to do much this fall, they will have their fair share of chances to upset favored teams. While the future betting lines will be what determines if a Seahawks victory counts as an upset or not, this team has too much pride to win something like four games under future hall of fame head coach Pete Carroll. The on-field talent may not be there as in the past, but the Seahawks are certainly capable of winning a handful of games they probably should not. Who is getting upset? Here are three games on the Seahawks’ 2022 season schedule that they could play spoiler in.Seattle Seahawks: 3 potential upset victories that could be had this season3. Week 15: vs. San Francisco 49ers (Thursday, Dec. 15)Though some critics of the Seahawks may argue that they could go 0-for in NFC West play, that is not happening. In fact, they should be able to...
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys. (Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images) How well Dak Prescott plays this year will decide if the Dallas Cowboys are Super Bowl viable. With the NFC down to some extent, what better time for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys to take advantage of the situation at hand? Though Dallas has not exactly had a great offseason, the Cowboys should be the favorite to come out of the NFC East this year. While the Philadelphia Eagles will be a real threat, as could the Washington Commanders with Carson Wentz under center, Dallas has the roster to not only win the division, but multiple playoff games. It has to be NFC Championship game appearance or bust. If the Cowboys want to be in the best spot to go on a deep playoff run, Prescott will have to come up big in these three regular-season games of note.Dallas Cowboys: 3 games Dak Prescott will have to win with his arm3. SANTA CLARA — The road to Super Bowl LVII looks easy. Wait, no, this season is set up for a quick disaster. Such are the polar extremes that come with a regular-season schedule reveal. Here are reasons to love and hate the 49ers’ 2022 agenda, followed by noteworthy games: THREE REASONS TO LOVE IT 1. SERVE EARLY NOTICE With the 49ers’ transition to quarterback Trey Lance – or even if Jimmy Garoppolo is an immovable object from the lineup – the rebuilding Chicago Bears make for easy entry into 2022. After that is a home opener against a Russell Wilson-less Seattle team coming off a Monday night opener against Wilson’s new team, the Broncos. 2. TAKE OUT RAMS FAST The 49ers get two quick shots to do their part in dethroning the Los Angeles Rams – the NFC West, NFC and Super Bowl champions. Before their midseason bye, the 49ers host the Rams on Monday Night Football in Week 4 (Oct. 3) and then visit SoFi (SouthFrisco) Stadium on Oct. 30. By then we’ll know if Halloween offers tricks or...
Getty Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Chandler Jones. The Raiders will have to wait until Week 2 to play a game in Las Vegas as they will open the season in Los Angeles against the Chargers. Last year, the team got to open the season at Allegiant Stadium against the Baltimore Ravens during Monday Night Football. This year, the season will be opened on the road in the afternoon. The Raiders won’t have to wait long until the home opener, though. The team announced that they’ll be facing the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2 of the 2022 season. Notably, the Raiders added Chandler Jones during free agency, who spent six years in Arizona. This will be his first chance at a revenge game against his former team. Many players like to put their former teams on notice during schedule release season but...

Getty Ex-Giants wide receiver Dante Pettis signs with the Chicago Bears. The New York Giants will not bring back wide receiver/return specialist Dante Pettis for a third straight season. Pettis signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears on May 11, thus closing the book on a two-year stint with the Giants from 2020 to 2021. The 26-year-old speedster was a valuable depth piece, albeit in limited action, as a wide receiver and return specialist for the Giants. In five total games, Pettis recorded 14 receptions for 163 yards and two touchdowns across two seasons. Pettis played a key role in the Giants’ Week 7 victory over the Carolina Panthers last season, catching five passes for 39 yards and a touchdown. The versatile receiver also completed a 16-yard pass to quarterback Daniel Jones on a trick play. This famous reception saw Jones make a difficult one-handed grab. Pettis was placed on injured reserve on November 5 as a result of a shoulder injury, which ended his season and tenure as a Giant. Now, he could see increased playing...
Getty Justin Fields during a Bears game against Tampa Bay in 2021. The Detroit Lions, most figure, are still a few years away from serious contention, even as the team has made some intriguing gains this past offseason. Detroit’s roster still has some major holes, and the team is still trying to find the right blend of impact makers as well as stars and role players to determine their future. Even though that’s the case, the team could be in an advantageous spot when it comes to the NFC North. The latest Lions news straight to your inbox! Join the Heavy on Lions newsletter here! Join Heavy on Lions! While Aaron Rodgers returned to the Green Bay Packers, there have been plenty of changes otherwise within the division. The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings both fired their front offices and head coaches, meaning resets could be coming in future years for both those teams. The Green Bay Packers will have plenty of games being played out in primetime this season. While the Green Bay Packers already know they are playing the New York Giants overseas, expect for them to have a few more primetime/standalone games on their 2022 regular season schedule. The Packers have been one of the better regular-season teams in recent years. They have earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC in back-to-back seasons, due in large part to their four-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While great playoff success has evaded Titletown for some time, look for the Packers to have roughly three more additional standalone games on the schedule this fall. Should the Packers play four games or so on the big stage by themselves, which ones are they?Green Bay Packers: Primetime TV game predictions, 2022In most years, the Packers would be a lock for the maximum of five primetime games. However, they do not have the best array of games this season with the way their 17-game schedule shakes out. Green Bay plays the AFC East, the NFC...
Getty Former Raiders quarterback Nathan Peterman. There have been ample changes made by the Las Vegas Raiders since Josh McDaniels replaced Jon Gruden as head coach. Perhaps the biggest change has been the team’s commitment to Derek Carr as they recently signed him to a three-year extension. While Gruden never admitted to wanting to move on from Carr, it was odd that he gave a big contract to Marcus Mariota and would praise Nathan Peterman any chance he got. Peterman stuck around with the Raiders for three seasons and was considered Gruden’s project. He rarely had the chance to get on the field and was regulated to the practice squad after the coach resigned. While the chances of Peterman ever getting another starting job are low, he’s a capable backup who likely learned a lot during his time with the Raiders. The Chicago Bears know this and have decided to sign him to a one-year contract, per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. Free-agent QB Nathan Peterman is signing a one-year contract with the #Bears, per source. Peterman...
Getty Robert Quinn led the Bears defense with 18.5 sacks in 2021. What would it take for Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles to trade the team’s top pass rusher, Robert Quinn? Would he do it for a 2023 second-round pick? Poles would likely push for more, but one analyst believes that might be enough. In a trade Alex Kay of Bleacher Report thinks “should happen before the 2022 NFL season,” Kay is of the opinion the Bears should ship Quinn to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for L.A.’s second-rounder next year. Quinn, who was second in the NFL last season with 18.5 sacks, is set to turn 32 on May 18. He’s the team’s oldest defender, and the second-oldest player on the squad behind long snapper Patrick Scales, who is 34. He is also the priciest, as his $17.1 million cap hit is the Chicago’s heftiest contract this coming season. Will those factors be enough to convince Poles to trade him? Plenty of other ex-Rivera staffers now reside in D.C., including Bradberry’s former secondary assistant Richard Rodgers.” Washington would be a comfortable landing spot for Bradberry, due to his existing relationship...
Ty Chandler, North Carolina Tar Heels, Minnesota Vikings. (Photo by Grant Halverson/Getty Images) With a return to the NFC playoffs potentially on the horizon, let’s predict some things that will absolutely happen when it comes to the Minnesota Vikings heading into next football season. The Minnesota Vikings have as good of a shot as anyone to be one of seven playoff teams in the NFC this upcoming NFL season. Though they play in the same NFC North as the Green Bay Packers, it is not like the Chicago Bears will be the least bit competent or the Detroit Lions will be world beaters. That leaves Minnesota in prime position to finish in second place again and potentially push for a top-seven seed in their conference under a new administration. Of course, they still have some more moves to make. Here are three bold predictions that will 100 percent come true when it comes to the Vikings.Minnesota Vikings: 3 bold predictions for offseason after 2022 NFL Draft3. Getty Former Cowboys WR Dez Bryant wants to sign with the Cardinals. A former notable Dallas Cowboys wide receiver is aiming to make a comeback — but it’s not with the Cowboys. Three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant recently spoke to TMZ Sports and says he’s aiming to make a comeback with the Arizona Cardinals. “Kyler, the coach — I love the swagger over there,” said Bryant. “I just love the guys, especially DeAndre Hopkins — that’s my boy. We real close.” This isn’t the first time the 33-year-old receiver has revealed he wants to play for the Cardinals. He stated the same desire back in March of 2021 that he wants to play for Arizona. Via TMZ Sports: “I think that would be dope being next to my boy D Hop [Deandre Hopkins], Christian Kirk, Kyler Murray,” Bryant said. “I think they have a dope offense. I feel like they got a dope defense. I think they got a dope coach … If I had to choose, yeah, if that opportunity presented itself, I think I...

Yet another player within the Green Bay Packers’ free-agent pool has found a new home within the NFC North. Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles announced on April 21 that veteran wide receiver David Moore — who spent the final parts of the 2021 season with the Packers — had been signed to their 90-man offseason roster. Getty Images Former Browns receivers Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry. Former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry is set to meet with the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday as he continues to look for a new home in free agency. That meeting took place when Atlanta was still in the running for quarterback Deshaun Watson, who eventually ended up in Cleveland after a change of heart. Getty The Seahawks are showing an interest in Cowboys safety Damontae Kazee (left). The Seattle Seahawks are meeting with Dallas Cowboys free agent safety Damontae Kazee on April 19, 2022, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Kazee played in all 17 games (including 15 starts) last season for the Cowboys, but spent his previous four seasons with former Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn in Atlanta. “Free agent safety Damontae Kazee is scheduled to visit the Seattle Seahawks today, per source,” Fowler tweeted on April 19. “Seattle looking at pre-draft defensive back options. Kazee is a five-year veteran who started for Cowboys last year and has 12 interceptions.” Kazee notched 52 tackles, four pass deflections, two forced fumbles and two interceptions in 2021. The veteran safety’s best season came in 2018 when Kazee had 82 tackles, 10 pass deflections and seven interceptions with the Falcons. Kazee is one of several former Falcons players that followed Quinn to the Cowboys last offseason after the coach took over the Dallas defense. ALL the latest Seahawks news straight to your inbox!
