The Metro Nashville Beer Permit Board granted permits to two pedal tavern companies. The Beer Permit Board met on Thursday allowed Nashville Pedal Tavern and Sprocket Rocket Party Bike permits to sell beer. Also, customers can bring their own beer onto the pedal taverns. Nashville Pedal Tavern received 12 permits and Sprocket Rocket Party Bike obtained 10. Both companies had been operating on temporary permits granted by Nashville Metro Council in 2021 and as such, never ceased operations. President Joe Biden approved of a move by the Justice Department Monday to conduct a 'fresh review' of documents pertaining to Saudi Arabia's role in 9/11. Biden was told Friday by nearly 1,800 Americans impacted by the terror attacks - including victims' family members, first responders and survivors - not to come to any of the 20th anniversary events unless he declassified documents that potentially show Saudi government links to the September 11, 2001 hijackers. 'As I promised during my campaign, my Administration is committed to ensuring the maximum degree of transparency under the law, and to adhering to the rigorous guidance issued during the Obama-Biden Administration on the invocation of the state secrets privilege,' the president said by statement Monday. 'In this vein, I welcome the Department of Justice's filing today, which commits to conducting a fresh review of documents where the government has previously asserted privileges, and to doing so as quickly as possible.'  President Joe Biden released a statement Monday in support of a Department of Justice move to conduct a 'fresh review' of classified documents...
U.S. Rep. Mark Green (R-TN-07) has introduced a bill that he said will tackle some of the factors prompting the record-breaking surge of unaccompanied minors crossing the southern border. Green, in an emailed press release, called his proposal the Migrant Accountability Act. “The legislation, which follows multiple reports that the Biden Administration flew unaccompanied alien children (UACs) into the State of Tennessee without the state’s consent, builds on his previously-introduced States Have a Say Act. In addition to requiring the federal government to receive permission from a state’s governor before resettling refugees within that state’s boundaries, this bill requires the same permission before placing unaccompanied alien children (UACs) in any state,” Green said in the press release. “It would also transfer legal custody of UACs to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the agency responsible for enforcing our nation’s immigration laws. Finally, the legislation would require UACs from contiguous countries like Mexico and Canada to be treated in the same way as UACs from non-contiguous countries, removing a double standard that has created massive delays in the...
With the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention issuing new guidelines Thursday afternoon for people who are fully vaccinated, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said the state would amend its COVID-19 restrictions to align with the new guidance. That means people who are two weeks or more out from their second shot of a Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine can forego masks in most settings, including many indoor venues. “Based on what we know about COVID-19 vaccines, people who have been fully vaccinated can start to do some things that they had stopped doing because of the pandemic,” the CDC said in its online update Thursday. In a video statement posted on Twitter, Beshear said the move means the state and country are very close to returning to normal. He also used the CDC’s move as a call for more Kentuckians to register or go to a clinic to get their shots. “When you get vaccinated, the CDC says it is safe to take that mask off,” the governor...
President Joe Biden’s Health and Human Services Secretary falsely said Wednesday that there is “no law pertaining to partial-birth abortion.” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra voted against the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 as a congressman, but the legislation, sponsored by Republican Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, still passed both the House and the Senate. (RELATED: Republican Senators Push Biden Nominee Becerra On His Abortion Record) The legislation bans partial-birth abortions, which it defines as “an abortion in which a physician deliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living, unborn child’s body until either the entire baby’s head is outside the body of the mother, or any part of the baby’s trunk past the navel is outside the body of the mother and only the head remains inside the womb, for the purpose of performing an overt act (usually the puncturing of the back of the child’s skull and removing the baby’s brains) that the person knows will kill the partially delivered infant, performs this act, and then completes delivery of the dead infant–is a gruesome and inhumane procedure that is never...

Ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, is calling on Twitter to release documents pertaining to its recent crackdown on President Trump's tweets. In a letter obtained by Fox News that was sent to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on Wednesday, Jordan accused the tech giant of increasingly exerting "editorial control" over prominent conservatives, including the president, and how it "has not taken similar actions" with prominent liberals, which the congressman says questioned whether Twitter "is not moderating user content in a viewpoint-neutral manner." Jordan pointed to the "fact-check" label Twitter added to Trump's May 26 tweet sounding the alarm of potential mail-in voter fraud in California as well as the "abusive behavior" label added to Trump's June 23 tweet threatening "serious force" to any autonomous zone established in Washington D.C., something Twitter insisted violated its policies. "While Twitter has sought to silence conservative voices, including the President of the United States, on its platform, Twitter has allowed violent extremists to use its platform with apparent impunity," Jordan wrote before citing tweets made by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. "Twitter’s discrimination against conservative voices...
