When MAGA Republicans appear on the BBC's "HARDtalk," they should never expect the type of softball questions they typically get from Sean Hannity at Fox News. "HARDtalk" is known for tough questions, whether the interviewee is a Republican or Democrat in the United States or a Labour or Conservative politician in the U.K. — and Sen. Lindsey Graham got such an interview when he spoke to "HARDtalk" host Stephen Sackur in early September and predicted that the U.S. will be invading Afghanistan again. Graham told Sackur, "Whether you like Trump or not, whether you believe it's Trump's fault or Biden's fault, here's where we're at as a world. The Taliban are not reformed, they're not new. They have a view of the world out of sync with modern times. But most importantly, they're going to give safe haven to Al Qaeda, who has ambitions to drive us out of the Middle East writ large and attack us because of our way of life. We will be going back into Afghanistan as we went back into Iraq and Syria." Sackur pushed...
BETHEL, Maine (AP) — A Maine museum will play host to a chunk of rock it said is the largest intact Mars rock on Earth. The Maine Mineral & Gem Museum said the specimen weighs 32 pounds (15 kilograms) and is about 10 inches (25 centimeters) at its longest point. The museum said the rock was the result of an asteroid impact on the surface of Mars that ejected material into an Earth-crossing orbit in space. There are less than 500 pounds (227 kilograms) of Mars rock known to exist on Earth, the museum said. The rock is known as “Taoudenni 002.” The Bethel, Maine, museum said it will include the rock when it opens to the public on Sept. 1. The museum said it is planning a reception with limited capacity on Aug. 31 to celebrate the acquisition of the rock. Two scientists from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration are expected to attend, the museum said. Copyright © 2021 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. When it comes to friends and families gathering to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley is only asking that hosts take proper precautions and “use their own best judgment” to avoid the spread of COVID-19. On Wednesday, Nov. 11, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued an Executive Order that limited indoor gatherings in a private residence to no more than 10 people, which went into effect on Friday, Nov. 13, throwing disarray into many Thanksgiving plans. In response, there was some defiance and backlash, with some upstate sheriffs proclaiming that they would not enforce the new edict, and that Thanksgiving traditions transcend the governor’s order. Related story - COVID-19: Cuomo Lashes Out At Sheriffs, Media Amid Spike In Cases Langley took a more nonresistant approach, saying that while he won’t encourage people to host large gatherings in their homes, he simply wants Thanksgiving celebrations to be held responsibly. Through community gatherings, podcasts and large-scale performances, the organization tackles hard topics and works toward community healing. Tyra kept things casual while out and about with her boyfriend. Tyra Banks has showed off some uber-glamorous looks on TV over the past couple of weeks after replacing Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as the new host of Dancing with the Stars, but she proved this weekend that she can keep things casual too. Tyra looked unrecognizable when she stepped out with her boyfriend Louis Bélanger-Martin on Sunday, September 27, as she rocked an all-camo ensemble to do some grocery shopping. In candid new photos that can be seen via The Daily Mail, Tyra went incognito in a baseball hat, aviator shades and a plain black mask that covered the majority of her face. The 46-year-old former America’s Got Talent host showed off her toned tummy in what appeared to be a plain black tank top that revealed her décolletage, but ditched the bright colors and sequins that have become synonymous with the ABC dance competition. Instead, she wore baggy camouflage drawstring sweatpants that revealed her bare ankles and just a sliver of her bare middle. She also sported...
'Vegas Dave' filmed Holly as she walked outside to check on her pool floats shaped like a swan and flamingo. Fox Sports host Holly Sonders thrilled her 479,000 Instagram followers by flaunting her bombshell curves in her latest upload, a video that saw her rocking a sexy ensemble as she entertained her fans with an update on the status of her avian-shaped pool floats. The fitness model was dressed to get wet in a skimpy bikini. Holly’s two-piece featured a snakeskin-print pattern in white and gray. The garment’s stretchy cups clung to her ample cleavage like a second skin. She teamed her string bikini top with high-cut briefs that had a low scooped waist. Over the bottoms, she wore a pair of dark Daisy Dukes. The denim shorts had a button fly, which she left completely undone. She folded down the top of the cutoffs to provide a better view of her taut...

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is threatening to disconnect water and electricity service to private homes that defy his orders barring large social gatherings, calling local reports of parties by younger people “flagrant violations of health orders.” The threat is similar to one he issued in April to businesses that defied his “safer at home” directive amid the initial outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Garcetti said beginning Friday that if police respond to repeated complaints of large gatherings and confirm violations, in “egregious” cases the city will instruct the Department of Water and Power to discontinue service to the residence. “While we have already closed all bars and nightclubs, these large house parties have essentially become nightclubs,” Garcetti said Wednesday. He then indicated he would hold them to similar scrutiny — "the same thing we would do with businesses.” Garcetti said he and the Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer were confident disconnecting public utilities from a private home was legally defensible. “You’re breaking the law,” he said. “Just as we can shut down bars breaking alcohol laws, in places that are in criminal...
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti (D) announced Wednesday night that by the end of the week, the city will start cutting off water and electric services to homes and businesses caught holding unauthorized large gatherings in violation of COVID-19 restrictions. The mayor says he wants offenders shut down "permanently." What are the details? "Recently we've seen the reports of some large parties and gatherings in flagrant violation of health ordinances," Garcetti said during a press conference. "As our county Department of Public Health said yesterday, and I quote, 'The highest risk settings are large, in-person gatherings where it is difficult for individuals to remain spaced at least six feet apart and where face coverings are not worn." Despite the fact that Garcetti himself was pictured (see photo above) mask-less among crowds of crammed-together George Floyd protesters weeks ago, he says it's time to crack down on others who host gatherings that are unpermitted by the government. The mayor went on to say that with bars and nightclubs shut down already under...
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti intensified penalties for people and properties hosting parties. On Wednesday, Garcetti announced that he authorized the city government to cut power and water to homes that host unlawful gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic. "Tonight, I am authorizing the city to shut off Los Angeles Department of Water and Power service in the egregious cases in which houses, businesses, and other venues are hosting unpermitted large gatherings," he said during a press conference. "Starting on Friday night, if the LAPD responds and verifies that a large gathering is occurring at a property, and we see these properties re-offending time and time again, they will provide and initiate the process that DWP shut off services within the next 48 hours," he added. Under current social distancing requirements, LA County prohibits "individual and family gatherings or parties of any size." Large events, such as conferences, are also banned. Earlier Wednesday, LA County Director of Public Health Barbara Ferrer said that “parties and gatherings hurt all of us," ordering people not to "host large parties"...
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Regional road trips and home shares are becoming new trends in traveling this summer, but is staying away from home a good idea during the COVID-19 pandemic?Safety is top of mind as families look to vacation a bit closer to home."We think some of this is because people are getting more comfortable with work from home, and they might be willing to extend a weekend or even a week long trip to do a little bit of work over video, and be able to stay engaged in their profession," said Jeff Hurst, CEO of vacation rental booking platform VRBO. "A lot of it is also that many people like my family had to cancel their spring break, and so you're looking at makeup for some lost time that you've had over the quarantine."Airbnb recently updated its cleaning policy, following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Airbnb requires a 24-hour waiting period before entering the property after guests leave.Airbnb is also offering an option to keep homes empty for a set period of 72 hours...
