The Pentagon expects the military aid portion of President Joe Biden's new supplemental Ukraine aid proposal to fund weapons shipments for the next five months. Earlier this week, Biden called on Congress to pass a new $33 billion spending bill that includes more than $20 billion for weapons, ammunition, and other military assistance. The request dwarfs the less than $4 billion the United States has already allocated to Ukraine since Russia invaded at the end of February. "This funding will probably get us through five months," Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters on Friday. WHELAN FAMILY CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT TREVOR REED SWAP MEANS FOR DETAINED BROTHER Kirby also provided new details on the U.S.'s training of Ukrainian military members on some of the weapons it has provided to them, including 155 howitzers and Phoenix Ghost drones. The U.S. is using “roughly three locations outside of Ukraine” for the training, and one of those locations is somewhere in Germany, but the Pentagon is “not at liberty to disclose where they are,” Kirby added. This is the first time the Pentagon has...
Conservative pundit Jack Posobiec was briefly suspended by Twitter over the weekend after sharing a link to buy T-shirts identifying Disney as “groomers,” due to the woke entertainment giant’s opposition to Florida’s bill protecting kids from sexual predators and groomers in the education system. Posobiec shared links to the T-shirts along with a message saying “get it before its banned,” and an image with the Disney logo and a message to boycott groomers. Jack Posobiec (Breitbart News) Twitter proceeded to lock Posobiec out of his account, saying the tweet had broken the platform’s rules against “hateful conduct.” Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal (Google Cloud/YouTube) “You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease,” said the message — without explaining how the image does any of those things. “Elon Musk recently commented that corporations dictate policy on Twitter through ad dollars,” Posobiec said in a comment to the Post Millennial, “so it comes as no surprise Twitter will censor you...
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released an expanded list of targeted congressional districts it seeks to flip red during the 2022 midterms. In total, the NRCC is targeting a total of 72 Democrat-held or recently created seats across the country, and four of them are in Florida. The four Democrat-held Florida seats include District 7 held by Stephanie Murphy who is not seeking re-election, District 13 held by Charlie Crist who is running for governor and not seeking re-election, District 14 held by Kathy Castor, and District 22 held by Ted Deutch who is not seeking re-election. “Republicans have the message, the candidates, and the resources needed to take back the majority,” said NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer in a statement. “Vulnerable Democrats who chose not to retire will be shown no mercy.” The NRCC report noted that the boundaries of the four seats are still being determined since Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) vetoed the Florida Legislature’s proposed maps and called for a special session regarding redistricting later this month. For District 7, one of the proposed maps showed...
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) refused to deploy the Florida National Guard in response to a request from the D.C. National Guard for help with an planned trucker convoy heading towards the district. The request was sent a day after Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin approved the mobilization of the D.C. National Guard for the trucker convoy on February 22. An internal email from the Florida National Guard’s director of military support obtained by Breitbart News said: District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG) to support the Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) security mission for First Amendment demonstrations expected to occur beginning the week of February 20, 2022. Due to the size of these events, all available MPD resources will be deployed, and the assistance of the DCNG will be essential in supporting the security plan. The email had the subject line “[Joint Information Exchange Exchange Environment] Information [in Support of] Operation Trucker Convoy. The D.C. National Guard is expected to be mobilized from February 26 through March 7, according to a notice to troops obtained by Breitbart News. That time period would also...
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says he denied a request by the Biden administration to deploy the state's National Guard to Washington, D.C., ahead of President Joe Biden's first State of the Union address. "Last week, the Biden Administration requested the assistance of State National Guards to deploy to Washington D.C. I have rejected this request — there will be no [Florida National Guard] sent to D.C. for Biden’s State of the Union," the Republican said in a tweet Monday, one day before the big speech. Christina Pushaw, DeSantis's press secretary, further told the Washington Examiner that the federal government sent the request to all states "to prepare for anticipated 'First Amendment protests'" coinciding with Biden's address Tuesday. The National Guard "should never be misused for political purposes," she added. Last week, the Biden Administration requested the assistance of State National Guards to deploy to Washington D.C.       The entire Florida congressional delegation, led by Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), signed a letter to National Guard Bureau Chief General Daniel Hokanson, urging additional resources for the Florida National Guard (FLNG). The letter explains that, despite a high population, the state has a relatively low number of Guard personnel. Furthermore, in recent years, Florida has witnessed numerous events that required the attention of the Guard. “Despite being the third-most populous state, the FLNG is ranked 53 out of 54 in the ratio of Guard personnel to total state population. We urge you to take state demographic and operational tempo into consideration when reviewing reallocation of force structure, when force structure is available, and address the pressing need that the FLNG has for additional resources,” the letter highlighted. Furthermore, a higher level of resources would increase the response of the group. “Resourcing additional personnel to the FLNG when available, considering our rapidly growing population and the operational tempo demands from the high rate of natural disasters, will enhance the readiness of FLNG and its ability to help the NGB respond...
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Yujie Zhao rocketed home the game-winning penalty kick and Florida State edged BYU 4-3 in PKs on Monday to win its third women’s national championship in program history and second in the last four years. Sophomore goalkeeper Cristina Roque made two saves during penalty kicks for the Seminoles, who, ironically, they lost last year’s national championship game in PKs. In the first-ever meeting between the schools, No. 13 BYU and top-ranked Florida State traded chances through 90 minutes of regulation time, but neither team could break through. The Cougars created a dangerous opportunity off a corner kick early in the first overtime, but Roque came up with one of her four saves. Florida State had the best chance of the second overtime when Jenna Nighswonger bent a shot from just outside the box, but BYU goalkeeper Cassidy Smith smothered it for one of her two saves. BYU, playing in its first-ever College Cup, outshot Florida State 10-8 through regulation and the two overtime periods. The Seminoles were playing in their 12th College Cup and sixth...
more   Florida’s military budget could receive more than $100 million in funding as Governor Ron DeSantis announced multiple proposals on Thursday that aim to support Florida’s National Guard, and establish a “civilian volunteer force,” known as the “Florida State Guard.” According to the Governor’s Office, his proposals would further support the National Guard in giving them extra hands in helping with state-specific emergencies such as natural disasters. Funding for the Florida State Guard would enable civilians to be trained in the “best emergency response techniques” in order to assist with Florida’s National Guard. “We are proud of our veterans and active-duty military members and proud of what our communities do to support them,” said Governor Ron DeSantis in a press release. “Florida is one of the most veteran friendly states, and I think there are very few places that you would rather be on duty than in the state of Florida. As a veteran, I really appreciate what everyone who wears the uniform does in our state and am excited about these proposals – they will go a long...

The Florida School Boards Association (FSBA) is pushing back against a call from its national counterpart for the federal government step in and assist with handling threats to school officials. While the FSBA says it has "great concern" for the safety of board members and school officials following recent reports of threats and protests, it does not fully agree with a letter sent by the National School Boards Association to President Joe Biden's administration, which urged the federal government to begin "monitoring the threat levels" against school officials and claimed that "public schools and its education leaders are under an immediate threat." In a letter sent by the state association to leaders of the NSBA on Monday, the FSBA claimed the national organization made its request to the federal government "without consultation of our association or your own board of directors" and called for "a review of NSBA leadership." A Florida mom called for a “mass exodus” from the public school system as the “only thing” left to do to fight indoctrination in public schools during a Family Research Council event Thursday. The event, titled “Fighting Indoctrination on a National Scale,” from the annual Pray Vote Stand Summit in Leesburg, Virginia, featured remarks from Quisha King, who works for Moms for Liberty and drew national attention in June for comments she made in opposition to Critical Race Theory (CRT). “I really think at this point the only thing to do is have a mass exodus from the public school system — that’s it,” King said during Thursday’s panel. The room erupted in applause and a standing ovation. She said the effort has to be pushed by parents in order to “really send the message that you do not have the right to indoctrinate our children.” CRT holds that America is fundamentally racist, yet it teaches people to view every social interaction and person in terms of race. Its adherents pursue “antiracism” through the end of merit, objective truth and...
"The North Port Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigations are currently searching for 23-yr-old Brian Laundrie of North Port," the police department said in a statement. "The attorney for the Laundrie family called FBI investigators Friday night indicating the family would like to talk about the disappearance of their son." Petito's family issued a statement through their lawyer, Richard Stafford, "All of Gabby's family want the world to know that Brian is not missing, he is hiding. Gabby is missing." On Sept. 1, Laundrie arrived at his parents' home in Florida after a trip to Utah and Wyoming with Petito, who was not with him when he returned. The couple lived in the North Port with his parents. Petito's family said they could not get any information from Laundrie about Gabby's whereabouts. Petito's family issued a plea to the Laundrie family. "Please, if you or your family have any decency left, please, tell us where Gabby is located," the family said in a letter. "Tell us if we are even looking in the right place. All...

The 20 best movie prequels 10 Reasons You Should Claim Social Security Early The memorial service for legendary Florida State coach Bobby Bowden will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. ET at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee, Florida. The celebration of life will be available streaming on seminoles.com.  © Provided by CBS Sports Bowden, who died Sunday morning at age 91 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, coached the Seminoles from 1976-2009, building the program into a national power by amassing a 304-97-4 record over that span. He won 12 ACC titles and two national championships during his tenure. FSU's national titles under Bowden came in 1993 and 1999, and he likely would have won more conference titles if not for the fact that FSU was independent for the first 16 years of his tenure. As CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd noted in his reflection on Bowden's life and career, Florida State became a national program by playing anybody, anywhere, anytime. The Seminoles got so good at it they made it a tradition of digging up a patch...

MIRAMAR(CBSMIAMI) —- As the Broward school system strongly recommends that students wear face masks when school resumes next month, the issue is drawing national attention in part because of an exchange on Thursday that involved Florida’s Governor and the White House Press Secretary. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, said, “If I were a parent in Florida, it would be greatly concerning to me because kids under the age of 12 have not been vaccinated and they are not eligible.” She said by not wearing masks. Psaki, who is also a parent, made those remarks in response to comments from Governor Ron DeSantis who said, “At the end of the day, you have...
Rebekah Jones, the fired Florida health official who became a media darling last year after she dubiously accused the DeSantis administration of pressuring her to fudge the state's COVID data, is at the center of a new report that outlines disturbing behavior after being praised by news organizations as a credible "whistleblower." National Review reported on Friday that Jones had launched a "smear campaign" against Jon Taylor, a Ph.D. candidate at the Florida Atlantic University College of Business who had attempted to reach out to her last year as he was developing his own COVID tracker since he found that Florida Health Department's setup was confusing for most people and showing inaccurate data he insisted was miscounting more cases and deaths than actually existed.  "By creating a tracker that showed the situation in Florida to be somewhat less dire than enemies of Governor DeSantis preferred to believe, he had left the staid world of academia and entered the world of politics, where the facts are subordinated to the question of whom those facts might help and whom they might hurt,"...
by Scott McClallen  Months after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer flew on a secret trip to Florida, Michiganders are starting to find answers. Whitmer’s campaign committee will pay for her March Florida flight to visit her father after she initially attempted to use a nonprofit to charter the flight through a separate company. The flight sparked a Federal Aviation Agency investigation, because the jet company was not authorized to operate charter flights. Whitmer will also pay travel costs for her daughters who flew back with her, Christopher Trebilcock, the legal counsel for the Whitmer for Governor candidate committee and Michigan Transition 2019, wrote to House Oversight Chairman Steve Johnson, R-Wayland. Whitmer’s campaign will pay PVS Chemicals of Detroit for the $27,521 cost Florida flight as well as the $22,670 cost of private travel by plane to President Joe Biden’s inauguration in January. The change in payments follows the conservative Michigan Rising Action filing of a complaint against Whitmer with the Internal Revenue Service, alleging the governor illegally used a nonprofit to fund a personal...
