Performing intense exercises not only burns fat, but it can keep a person away from eating fatty foods, a new study finds. Researchers at Washington State University, in Pullman, Washington, found in a trial of mice that those who regularly exercised were able to avoid cues to eat unhealthy foods. The findings indicate that exercise can improve a person's discipline and decision making, and prevent them from making poor dietary decisions. Why exactly this is the case, researchers can not determine, but they are hopeful that they may have uncovered a new trick to help dieters around the world. Researchers found that rats that underwent intense exercises were less likely to crave fatty foods afterwards (file photo)  'A really important part of maintaining a diet is to have some brain power—the ability to say 'no, I may be craving that, but I'm going to abstain,' said Dr Travis Brown, an author of the study and neuroscience researcher. 'Exercise could not only be beneficial physically for weight loss but also mentally to gain control over cravings for unhealthy foods.' Researchers, who published...

AS much as we love seeing our kids' faces light up at the mention of a sleepover, we do have a selfish reason for letting them stay round at their mates: it gives us the evening off from being parents. WHEN players have a point to prove and feel they have been slighted, they always seem to get that extra spring in their step. Tottenham’s Harry Kane will be no different when he faces Manchester City — the club he almost joined last summer. 3Harry Kane will be heading to the Etihad with a point to proveCredit: Getty 3Troy Deeney writes exclusively for Sun SportCredit: The Sun You may think that Harry will be going to the Etihad with feelings of what-ifs and envy, but it will be the opposite. He will be thinking, ‘Hold on, you passed up on me — let me show you exactly what you passed up on’. You see it all the time, with players meeting their old clubs, famously when Emmanuel Adebayor played for City against Arsenal, scoring THAT goal and doing THAT celebration. Will there be a part of Harry thinking he would love to play in this team as he would get loads of chances and score loads of goals? Of course. However, he is in a  situation now where he is...
A lawyer for the self-proclaimed 'Crocodile of Wall Street', Heather Rhiannon Morgan, 31, and her husband Ilya 'Dutch' Lichtenstein, 34, claim neither of them are 'flight risks' because Morgan has frozen embryos in the city. The couple's lawyer, Samson Enzer, has urged a judge to allow them to be freed on $3million and $4.5million bail respectively, saying the fact neither of them fled when given the chance upon first being alerted to the investigation, proves they would not run from the law if now freed on bail.   Prosecutors are urging caution: It is believed the couple still have vast sums of money at their disposal which is likely hidden from authorities.  Furthermore, Licthenstein has dual citizenship with Russia giving the couple a possible safe haven from which it would be partiuclarly difficult for U.S. authorities to secure an extradition order should the couple choose to flee. The pair, dubbed 'Bitcoin Bonnie and Crypto Clyde' by financial newsletter Morning Brew, were both arrested on Tuesday on federal charges of conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to defraud the United States for allegedly laundering...

States are beginning to allow all adults aged 18 and older to receive a COVId-19 vaccine booster dose if they want one.  Current federal guidelines only allow Americans to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna boosters if they are aged 65 and older or are at risk due to underlying conditions or their jobs, while anyone who is an adult can get a Johnson & Johnson booster shot. But Colorado is going a step further and saying all adults should get one to protect themselves in case of a winter surge. On Thursday, Colorado Gov Jared Polis (D) signed an executive order allowing residents to get a booster dose. Meanwhile, on the same day, officials from the California Department of Public Health said no fully vaccinated adult should be denied a booster shot and are pushing for all adults to be allowed to get an extra dose. It moves the U.S. closer to completing the Biden administration's goal of boosters for all adults, which was announced over the summer.   Colorado Gov Jared Polis signed an executive order on Thursday allowing all residents...

Rachel Diamond looks like most of the moms at the Park Slope café where we meet. She's wearing a green t-shirt under a black corduroy jumper, sensible shoes and carries a smart, leather bag. She sips a four dollar iced chai.  Except the 31-year-old isn't a mom. And she never will be. 'You know,' Diamond says cheerily, 'I never expected to be the poster child of sterilization.' On the aspiring actor's TikTok, one finds short funny videos about Diamond's job working the register at a cafe near Union Square and updates on her rescue pitbull, Rue, who has anemia.  Mixed in are the clips extolling her child-free life. They have titles like 'Sterilization Attempt #3' and 'Being Childfree: We DO Know What We're Missing.' It's been five months since she had her fallopian tubes cut — not tied — and she has 64,000 followers. Growing up near Hershey, Penn., Diamond always assumed she'd have a family of her own.  Then came college at Arcadia University; her political awakening, away from her conservative roots, and towards progressivism; and a therapist who...
