Prince Harry is 'in regular contact with Prince Charles' but his relationship with Prince William 'has not recovered since Oprah interview', a royal expert has claimed.  The Duke of Sussex, 38, is currently living with the Duchess, 40, in their $14 million mansion in California having stepped back from royal duty last year.  Camilla Tominey has now questioned 'what Harry and Meghan Markle have actually been doing' since leaving life as senior royals last year, stating there has been 'little evidence of a global wave of service' sparked by the couple. Meanwhile she also noted Prince Harry's relationship with his family has barely improved over the last year, writing in The Telegraph: 'While Prince Charles is thought to be in regular contact with his youngest son, Harry's relationship with William has still not recovered from Oprah, after he suggested both his father and his brother felt 'trapped' in the Royal family.' Virginia Gov Ralph Northam (pictured) has still not fully recovered his sense of taste and smell a year after contracting COVID-19. Northam encourages his constituents to get jabbed to avoid complications related to 'long Covid' Virginia Gov Ralph Northam revealed this week that he is still suffering from symptoms of 'long Covid' over a year after contracting the virus. The Democratic governor, whose term will end in January, told The Virginian-Pilot that his sense of smell and taste are yet to recover from his September 2020 bout with Covid. Now, Northam is pushing for Virginians to get vaccinated in order to avoid suffering the way he has.  'I'm 62, and I can deal with this,' Northam told The Pilot. 'But why take a chance, if you're 15 or 20 years old or whatever age, of having symptoms that may affect you for the rest of your life?  'Or, in the worst-case scenario, you get COVID pneumonia and don't recover and end up losing your life.'  The vaccines were not yet available when Northam contracted the virus, though he now hopes...
KARIM BENZEMA doesn't wear the bandage on his hand in games as a style accessory. The 33-year-old has no choice but to wear the bandage to protect the finger he broke in 2019 against Real Betis which he still hasn't recovered from, Marca revealed. 1Benzema has been wearing a bandage for the past few seasonsCredit: Rex After clashing with Betis defender Marc Bartra during the game over two years ago, the Real Madrid ace had to have surgery on his fractured finger. The French international was told that surgeons could operate on him but he would be sidelined for two months. So he decided to wait until the end of the season to get it done. Despite the delay, Benzema's surgery was a success, but his rehabilitation was hampered by his impatience. Instead of taking the time out to heal properly, Benzema rushed the process in order to be fit for the next LaLiga campaign. The striker's rush to get back in action turned out to be a bad choice, as his finger received another knock which pushed back his...
Chinese flag waving in front of Shanghai cityscape.Eternity in an Instant | Stone | Getty Images China's policymakers are "overly aggressive" in containing debt levels, a leading Chinese economist told CNBC, while acknowledging that the economy has not completely recovered from the pandemic. China, where the coronavirus was first detected, was the only major economy that grew last year. The country reported a 2.3% growth in 2020 from a year ago, driven mostly by exports while recovery in consumption lagged. "Overall, I would say the economy, the Chinese economy is not 100% back to normalcy. I would say 90% back to normalcy," Li Daokui, an economics professor at Tsinghua University, told Martin Soong during the virtual CNBC Evolve Global Summit on Wednesday. Li, a former advisor to China's central bank, said policymakers should allow the economy more time to recover before cracking down on debt. He said consumer spending has not returned to pre-pandemic levels and some businesses in the services sector are still struggling.Read more about China from CNBC ProChina's Gen Z are set to spend big – analysts...
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A laptop stolen from the offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the U.S. Capitol attack has not been recovered from the home or car of a Pennsylvania woman accused of helping steal it, the woman’s lawyer said Tuesday. Public defender A.J. Kramer told a federal judge that investigators searched the car and Harrisburg residence of Riley June Williams but did not locate the computer. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mona Sedky said during a hearing in Washington that she was reluctant to say more about what she described as an ongoing and fluid investigation, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. “I’m very uncomfortable discussing the facts of the case at this stage,” Sedky said. “I’m concerned that talking about what we do and don’t know and what we’re running down could jeopardize the investigation.” RELATED STORIES: Federal Prosecutors Say Riley Williams Of Pennsylvania Will Likely Be Charged With Stealing Nancy Pelosi’s Laptop Riley Williams, Pennsylvania Woman Accused Of Taking Laptop From Nancy Pelosi’s Office During Capitol Riot, Taken Into Custody Riley Williams, Accused Of Helping To Steal...
Irma Maldanado stands with her parrot and her dog in what is left of her home in Corozal, Puerto Rico, which was destroyed by Hurricane Maria. Memories of Maria. We saw many photos like the one above, of the damage to Puerto Rico after it was hit by Hurricane Maria on September 20, 2017. Lives lost, homes destroyed, people seeking food and clean water to drink. These are all images that we expect to see after a natural disaster strikes.  What we do not expect, or shouldn’t expect, is for the visible effects of a natural disaster to be evident three years after it has occurred. Not on the watch of the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the world. And yet there are still over 20,000 homes in Puerto Rico with blue tarp roofs, three damn years later. To imagine how many people are living under those blue tarps, multiply that number of households by at least three—because beneath those leaking roofs live families.  Puerto Ricans are living with buckets placed in rooms that have water leaking in every time it rains, which on a tropical isle...
President Donald Trump’s job approval rating among men and women who own small businesses took a big hit at the height of the pandemic lockdowns. He has won back a lot of approval mong men but women remain far more split when it comes to approving of the president. Prior to the pandemic, Trump’s popularity with small business owners was riding high. His approval level rose to 64 percent at the start of the year, according to a CNBC-Survey Monkey poll taken in late January and early February. Sixty-five percent of men and sixty-one percent of women approved of the president in that poll. That changed quickly. In the April version of the poll, Trump’s approval rating fell to 58 percent overall. Approval by men fell to 61 percent and approval by women fell to 53 percent. The reopening of the economy has restored approval by men but not women. In the late July version of the poll, Trump’s job approval rating among men rose to 64 percent. Among women, it ticked down to 51 percent. Why did Trump’s job...
As a baby, Kanye West went weeks talking in haiku and his watercolors had been so skilled you might grasp them on a wall, mentioned Ulysses Blakely, who dated the rapper’s mother, Dr. Donda West, for years. “This baby was plainly and self-evidently extraordinary,” Blakely, who helped increase the rapper into his late teen years, instructed The Submit. He mentioned, as many others have, that Kanye was extremely near his mom. On Friday, he was meant to launch a brand new album known as “Donda,” though it has not but seen the sunshine of day. Regardless of the holdup is, he’s definitely been busy for the previous week and a half: saying that spouse, Kim Kardashian, threatened to abort their daughter North, and that he has been attempting to divorce Kim; blasting his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, for “white supremacy”; and raging towards Harriet Tubman, amongst different surprising claims. Kardashian has blamed the outbursts on her 43-year-old husband’s bipolar dysfunction, and Blakely thinks there could also be one other issue exacerbating issues. In 2016, Kanye’s Yeezy line featured a T-shirt along...
As a child, Kanye West went weeks speaking in haiku and his watercolors were so professional you could hang them on a wall, said Ulysses Blakely, who dated the rapper’s mom, Dr. Donda West, for years. “This child was plainly and self-evidently extraordinary,” Blakely, who helped raise the rapper into his late teen years, told The Post. WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Monday she was confident New Zealand has halted the spread of the coronavirus after the last known infected person in the country recovered. It has been 17 days since the last new case was reported in New Zealand, and Monday also marked the first time since late February that there have been no active cases. New Zealand has tested almost 40,000 people in the past 17 days and no one has been in a hospital with COVID-19 for 12 days, Ardern said at a news conference. She also announced the Cabinet agreed to another phase of the country’s reopening at midnight. “We are confident we have eliminated transmission of the virus in New Zealand for now, but elimination is not a point in time, it is a sustained effort,” she said. “We almost certainly will see cases here again, and I do want to say again, we will almost certainly see cases here again, and that is not a sign that we have failed, it is a reality of...
