A CROP-wielding landowner called a dog walker “fat boy” during an extraordinary rant at a group who strayed on to his farm. American Philip Adkins was in full eventing gear as he yelled from the saddle of his horse: “You are trespassing! Get off my property!” 2Philip Adkins let rip and told the walkers to get off his property Minutes later, he galloped his horse back to its stable then returned on a golf buggy to berate the three walkers for letting their German shepherd run loose. As one of the group recorded him, Mr Adkins ranted: “Go ahead — post it on Facebook, fat boy!” The three claimed they had inadvertently strayed on to Mr Adkins’ estate, near Peterborough, Cambs. But they were allegedly warned on two previous occasions about letting their dog run loose as sheep and foals were grazing nearby. But in Tuesday’s clash, Mr Adkins was recorded shouting: “It’s not the footpath, idiots! Don’t tell me what to do on my property.” Gesticulating from his golf buggy with a crop, he also told them: “You have...
In a highly unusual breach of security last month at the air base that operates the Air Force One presidential aircraft, an apparently aimless intruder went undetected for several hours and walked on and off an airplane on the flight line before his quirky headgear gave him away. He was wearing what an Air Force investigative report released Thursday described as "a bright red or pink cap that partially covered his ears and had distinctive balls on top that looked a little like mouse ears." An airman in the operations office at Joint Base Andrews, located in Maryland just outside Washington, saw the man on the flight line and became suspicious, partly because of the headgear, and called security. Officials said he never got close to Air Force One. "To be frank, I'm just being honest, we had no idea we had an unauthorized civilian on the base. He could have roamed around for a lot longer had it not been for that particular airman that figured out he doesn't quite fit," said Sami Said, the Air Force...
COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (AP) — Police early Wednesday had to corral three cows that wandered onto a highway in southern Ohio. The bovines were spotted around 3 a.m. and officers from Green and Colerain townships had to close the ramp from westbound Interstate 74 to northbound I-275. “They were sitting in the median eating,” Colerain Township Police Officer Jake McElvogue told WXIX-TV. “Honestly, they probably would have been fine if we had kept going, but the last thing we want someone to do is hit a cow.” Police believe the cows wandered away from a nearby farm. The cows were loaded into a trailer and taken to a local couple who can care for them until the owner is located, police said. (Copyright 2020 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
