The Philadelphia Eagles may have upwards of three primetime games for the 2022 NFL season. While the Philadelphia Eagles already know they have at least one primetime game on tap this season, could they be getting one, maybe two more when the NFL regular season schedule is released in earnest on Thursday night? The Eagles will host the Minnesota Vikings as part of Week 1’s finale in the doubleheader on Monday Night Football. Despite being a big brand, the Eagles will be lucky to get two additional primetime games this year. A second is definitely happening, given the media market they play in, but a third may be more challenging to find on their 17-game slate than most people even realize. How many primetime games could the Eagles be taking part in and who could they be playing?Philadelphia Eagles: Primetime TV game predictions, 2022Looking at the Eagles’ 2022 regular season opponents, The Birds draw the NFC North in its entirety and the AFC South in its entirety, as well as its six divisional games and the three to round it out for...
The San Francisco 49ers, much like the rest of the NFL, will find out their schedule for the 2022 season. But which games could be on primetime? The San Francisco 49ers were one win away from reaching Super Bowl 56, but fell just short against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game. Despite losing, their season can be viewed as a success, as they pulled off upset wins over the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers in their playoff run. Now, the 49ers will find out their schedules for the 2022 season on May 12. Their opponents are already known, but learning of the exact order and dates will be important. But when it comes to which games the team will play on primetime television, these are the most likely.San Francisco 49ers: Predicting the primetime gamesFirst, let’s look at San Francisco’s opponents for 2022 at home and on the road: Home Arizona Cardinals Los Angeles Rams Seattle Seahawks Kansas City Chiefs Los Angeles Chargers Miami Dolphins New Orleans Saints Washington Commanders Tampa Bay Buccaneers Road ...
The Minnesota Vikings have not one, but two primetime games, possibly even more coming. No NFL team knows more about their regular season slate heading into Thursday’s schedule release bonanza than do the Minnesota Vikings. Minnesota will travel to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the Philadelphia Eagles as part of the Monday Night Football double shot to help propel us through what should be an awesome Week 1. A few weeks later, the Vikings will venture across the pond to play the New Orleans Saints as one of the three London games on tap this season. That game will be happening on Sunday, Oct. 2. With two primetime/standalone games already part of their schedule, do the Vikings get another?Minnesota Vikings: Primetime TV game predictions, 2022Looking at their 2022 season opponents, Minnesota will play the AFC East in its entirety, the NFC East in its entirety and its three competitive balance games in addition to its six-game, home-and-home slate with its NFC North division rivals. The three competitive balance games for the Vikings are vs. the Saints in...
The Green Bay Packers will have plenty of games being played out in primetime this season. While the Green Bay Packers already know they are playing the New York Giants overseas, expect for them to have a few more primetime/standalone games on their 2022 regular season schedule. The Packers have been one of the better regular-season teams in recent years. They have earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC in back-to-back seasons, due in large part to their four-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While great playoff success has evaded Titletown for some time, look for the Packers to have roughly three more additional standalone games on the schedule this fall. Should the Packers play four games or so on the big stage by themselves, which ones are they?Green Bay Packers: Primetime TV game predictions, 2022In most years, the Packers would be a lock for the maximum of five primetime games. However, they do not have the best array of games this season with the way their 17-game schedule shakes out. Green Bay plays the AFC East, the NFC...
Expect for the Dallas Cowboys to play in five primetime games like they do nearly every year. Unless the Dallas Cowboys absolutely stink, they will be playing in as close to the maximum of number primetime NFL games as humanly possible. It’s referred to as the Cowboys Rule for a reason. If left to their own devices, the Cowboys would play all of their games in primetime because they are “America’s Team”. Despite having not been to an NFC Championship game since the Bill Clinton Administration, no NFL franchise moves the needle quite like the Cowboys do. Since they won the NFC East last season, it will be five games. It is not how many, but who and when the Cowboys will play their five primetime games this year.Dallas Cowboys: Primetime TV game predictions, 2022Alright, let’s be real. Two of the Cowboys’ five primetime games will be against middling NFC East competition. One will come on Thanksgiving Day in the late-afternoon window, technically qualifying as a primetime game because it is indeed a standalone. The other will be something not even Joe Buck...
The Pittsburgh Steelers will still probably get a handful of primetime games this NFL season. Even as the Pittsburgh Steelers will usher in a new era of quarterbacking under center, that will still not prevent them from getting more than their fair share of primetime TV games. With 2022 regular season games getting leaked out in the lead-up to the NFL‘s official schedule release on Thursday night, the Steelers still have no earthly idea who they will be playing when. The anticipation is killing everyone. Even though the order of the 17 games in question will be released in short order, expect for the Steelers to play in at least a handful of primetime games. Here is our best bet as to what the Steelers’ primetime TV schedule may look like this NFL season.Pittsburgh Steelers: Primetime TV games predictions, 2022Because the brand is strong and the Steelers have two new quarterbacks that have the potential to move the needle in former failed Chicago Bears starter Mitchell Trubisky and No. 20 overall pick Kenny Pickett out of Pitt, Pittsburgh will get about...
Predicting how many primetime games the Kansas City Chiefs will have and who they will play. The Kansas City Chiefs are one of only a handful of teams that know a team they will be playing and when ahead of Thursday night’s official 2022 NFL schedule release. Kansas City will host the AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday, Sept. 15 as the first game to air strictly on Amazon Prime. This was announced during the 2022 NFL Draft with Chiefs legend Tony Gonzalez breaking the news, as he will be part of broadcasting team bringing NFL football to life on this new streaming platform. Expect for the Chiefs to live in primetime in 2022. With 16 other games to be announced, how many could the Chiefs play in primetime and who are their most likely opponents for those games?Kansas City Chiefs: Primetime TV game predictions, 2022Because the Chiefs are the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes is the second coming of Brett Favre when it comes to moving the needle on TV from a quarterbacking standpoint, the NFL would be moronic...
(Photo by Adam Pretty/Getty Images) The Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony in Beijing on Friday ended up a ratings dud. The ceremony drew “nearly 14 million” TV viewers, according to a release from the network— making it one of the least viewed in Olympic history. Compared to the 23.8 million people who tuned into the last winter games ceremony in 2018 in Pyeongchang, viewership dropped 43 percent overall. Only 8.7 million tuned into primetime programming with NBC’s Mike Tirico and Savannah Guthrie who led the coverage of the ceremony, which consisted of an extravagant display presented by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The audience for the opening ceremony was also significantly lower than last year’s Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony in Tokyo, which averaged 17 million viewers throughout the program. It seems as though the Olympics are not immune to the challenges faced by the lack of fans present, resultant from the current state of the Covid-19 pandemic. The excitement that is generally buzzing through Olympic stadiums has been diminished, leading to much less thrilling coverage. The time zone of these winter games...
The final fig leaf has fallen from Fox News, in the form of Chris Wallace’s exit. As it does, the nakedness of the Murdoch network assumes more clearly the grotesque form of Tucker Carlson. There were several signs that the burden placed on Wallace as the de facto protector of truth at Fox was too much for him to endure for much longer. Last month, in a long interview with Matthew Garrahan in the Financial Times, Wallace refused to comment on Carlson. Instead, he offered this bromide: “I am only responsible for and only have control over my piece of real estate. I’m proud of what we do… I feel a tremendous sense of responsibility to my audience and to the truth. Truth is non-negotiable. There’s no spin to truth. Truth is truth.” With Carlson’s contempt for truth-telling going way beyond the range of Fox’s other primetime bloviators, the image of Wallace upholding his own guard rails—of him being the guarantor of the news division’s sanctity—was risible. On a personal level it’s a tragic end for Wallace. He’s been...
The Tennessee Titans beating the Rams 28-16 Sunday night put up some solid TV ratings. According to TVSeriesFinale.com, the Titans earning a monster win over Matthew Stafford and the Rams averaged 11.28 million viewers on NBC in the early data. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football) Due to the fact it was a live sporting event, the final viewership data will be higher.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Tennessee Titans (@titans) Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. There was another primetime football game in America and it got very solid ratings. The World Series got lackluster ratings, nobody seems to really care about the NBA but everyone loves football.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Tennessee Titans (@titans) How do I know people love football? The ratings are almost always huge, and we’ve seen several examples of that this season. Short of primetime games featuring awful teams, pretty much every primetime NFL game this season has put up big numbers,...

West Virginia transgender athlete bill signed by governor Family of 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant to call for federal investigation into police shooting, another into foster care system NCIS Sangre Episodic CBS’ drama FBI led Tuesday’s adults 18-49 rankings in primetime — beating its lead-in, NCIS (which hit an all-time low in the key ad demographic), for the first time when the two shows have aired back to back. It was a relatively soft night for broadcast TV overall, with no show gathering even 1 million people who fall in the 18-49 age range. FBI came closest, with its 0.68 rating equivalent to about 880,000 people. NCIS, meanwhile, recorded a 0.6 in adults 18-49, a tenth of a point behind its previous low. It did lead primetime among all viewers, averaging 8.56 million. FBI finished second in viewers with 7.57 million, while FBI: Most Wanted had 5.62 million viewers to go with a 0.57 rating in the 18-49 demo. CBS swept primetime in both measures, as well as among adults 25-54. History’s The Curse of Oak Island had the next best...
Imagine Dallas’ J.R. Ewing—that cackling, whisky tumbler-holding pinnacle of television villainy—not being played by Larry Hagman. It almost happened. Before Hagman’s successful audition, the actor Robert Foxworth was offered the part of J.R., Dallas creator David Jacobs recently recalled during an interview with The Daily Beast. It wasn’t J.R. that had percolated in Jacobs’ mind first when he created the CBS saga, which ran from 1978 to 1991. It was the character of Pam, later played by Victoria Principal—and the show’s original Romeo and Juliet storyline between her and Bobby (Patrick Duffy). “Pam wanted the house with the white picket fence. She didn’t want any of the rich Ewing fortune stuff. Their fathers were enemies. Her brother was investigating J.R.” Foxworth, Jacobs recalled, asked the producers, “Well, why is this guy such a son of a bitch?” Jacobs said he replied, “Well, he’s got all the power he needs. He knows this woman is not good for the family. There are people looking over his shoulder, he doesn’t want any of that.” “Well,” Foxworth said, “why is he...
