McDonald, 32, produced a spectacular overhand right in the second round that sent Holyfield crashing to the mat and out for the count. And to make his win even more impressive, the fighter is actually an electrician by day. He only fits his boxing training and gym work around his day job. Billionaire investor and activist Carl Icahn blasted McDonald's for continuing its use of cruel gestation grates for pregnant pigs, despite previous promises to phase them out by 2022.  Icahn, 86, penned an eight-page letter to McDonald's shareholders, which he released on Thursday, claiming fast-food giant failed to follow through on a ten-year old commitment to end the use of the crates, which keep pregnant pigs in cramped spaces. The company first agreed to do away with the practice back in 2012 amidst widespread criticism over the use of such inhumane devices. But Icahn - a shareholder - says the firm has fallen short, and now hopes to embarrass it into action.  'This grotesque mistreatment of animals – and the Company's inability to make significant progress on promises made to multiple stakeholders in 2012 – clearly stem from dysfunction and indifference in McDonald's' boardroom,' wrote Icahn, who owns 200 shares of the company.  'I believe McDonald's' customers want food that is sourced ethically, responsibly and humanely. Gestation crates are none of those.' Advocates say the crates stop sows fighting one another while...

Inflation has triggered a seven per cent increase in the price of a Big Mac that has fans wondering whether the iconic burger should be renamed the Whopper.    Buying one of the two-patty treats from McDonald's is 7.2 percent dearer than it was last year - the biggest jump since 1981, according to the National Restaurant Association.    On average cost for the two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese on a sesame seed bun is $6.05 nationwide - but prices vary widely by state.  Axios also broke down the burger costs in 24 cities and found that the sometimes the price of lunch is outpacing the rise in wages. The taxpayer-funded boss of San Francisco's squalid open-air drugs market has been accused of exaggerating the number of people it helped - with city officials then covering up for him.  Gary McCoy, the vice president of public affairs and policy at non-profit HealthRIGHT 360, which runs the controversial Tenderloin Linkage Center, was accused of fiddling the figures by San Francisco public health bosses in newly-released emails.  Dr Rob Hoffman, special project manager with the San Francisco Department of Public Health, wrote an email to colleagues on February 8 saying: 'I think Gary is just making up random numbers.' He was referring to the 659 'meaningful engagements' recorded by HealthRIGHT 360 staff at the drugs-market for the week ending February 7, versus mere 'interactions.' 'Meaningful engagements' involve actively helping visitors - most of whom are homeless - by directing them to clean syringes or other services, rather than just observing them.  Hoffman said he and a colleague had visited the linkage center over the same period, and wrote: 'I observed the HR360 staff and did not see anything that can account...

Prince Andrew's multi-million pound out-of-court settlement with his accuser Virginia Roberts cannot be probed by MPs due to an ancient custom barring the discussion of royals in Parliament. The Duke of York is believed to be facing a legal bill of up to £12 million following his out-of-court agreement with Ms Roberts, who was suing the Queen's son in New York for alleged sexual abuse after she claims she was trafficked by his friend and convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein. Prince Andrew vehemently denied these claims.  Questions remain over whether the monarch - who is said to favour Andrew - is helping him foot the bill, which includes a £2million donation to Ms Giuffre's charity, which helps victims of sexual assault and trafficking.   However, an ancient rule means that MPs are restricted from discussing royalty in the Commons and therefore Prince Andrew's settlement can't be questioned. Meanwhile, Labour MP for Middlesborough Andy McDonald has demanded that a minister comes to the House to reveal if any taxpayer money from the Sovereign Grant - cash paid to the royals from the public - was used...
