Workers removed the 'TRUMP' lettering from the former president's hotel in Washington D.C. on Wednesday evening as the sale to Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. is finalized and the federally owned old Post Office building will become a Waldorf Astoria. The Trump International Hotel was officially shuttered this week after the Trump Organization reached a $375 million agreement to sell the D.C. property to a Miami-based investor CGI Merchant Group. The deal reached with CGI represents a 25 percent discount from the $500 million the Trump Organization previously sought in 2019 for sale of the property's lease. Hours after the deal officially closed Wednesday, workers descended on the Pennsylvania Avenue location and began taking down signs from the facade of the building. Trump initially boasted that the hotel netted more than $150 million during his presidency, but the Democrat-run House Committee on Oversight and Reform said in October that he actually lost more than $70 million on the hotel during that time – even though the location was a popular spot for lobbyists and right-wing pundits to stay. Workers arrived at...
Former President Donald Trump blasted President Biden on Thursday for using his name to “further divide America” on the anniversary of the January 6 protest, deeming it “political theater” designed to distract from Biden’s failures. “Biden, who is destroying our Nation with insane policies of open Borders, corrupt Elections, disastrous energy policies, unconstitutional mandates, and devastating school closures, used my name today to try to further divide America,” Trump began in a pointed statement. “This political theater is all just a distraction for the fact Biden has completely and totally failed,” he continued, listing Biden’s failures on the border, Chinese coronavirus, inflation, energy independence, foreign affairs, and the military. “Our Country no longer has Borders, has totally and completely lost control of Covid (record numbers!), is no longer Energy Independent, Inflation is rampant, our Military is in chaos, and our exit, or surrender, from Afghanistan was perhaps the most embarrassing day in the long and distinguished history of the United States—and so much more,” he wrote. “Why is it that the Unselect Committee of totally partisan political hacks, whose judgment...

A New Jersey school district has started the renaming process of Woodrow Wilson High School, NJ.com reported. The change was first announced in June 2020 by the Camden City School District (CCSD), NJ.com reported. A group of over 100 members, including parents, activists and school administrators, formed the renaming committee. Support for the renaming of the school was propelled by the killing of George Floyd in May 2020, but residents expressed discontent for the school’s name before then, NJ.com reported. A 2019 petition on Change.org called on the school to remove former President Woodrow Wilson’s name from the high school’s title and referred to the former president as a “white Supremacist” whose name serves “as a continuous reminder of a true systemic oppression that has not only been foreseen by US as parents but also Now through the eyes of Our Children today.” This picture taken on the opening day of the Conference for Peace on January 19, 1919 shows leaders of the “Big Four” (or Four Nations) David Lloyd George (L), Britain’s Prime Minister, Vittorio Emanuele Orlando (2nd L),...
A New Jersey high school will remove President Woodrow Wilson from its name over complaints it perpetuates racism.  The Camden School District voted on the decision 18 months ago, but due to COVID-19 priorities, the process to pick a new name had been postponed until now. High contenders to have the school named after them include former President Barack Obama, late civil rights activist and Representative John Lewis, and a superintendent who recently passed away.  Initially, a 100-members committee composed of parents and school officials had been chosen to complete the task, but the district informed that the process will start anew with a 10-person committee, NJ.com reported. Woodrow, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, once governor of New Jersey and the 28th president of the United States, led the country into war to 'make the world safe for democracy.'  However, upon reexamination of his legacy after 2020's summer of racial unrest, he has been heavily criticized for promoting the Klu Klux Klan and Confederacy sentiments, and racially re-segregating the federal civil service.  The school has borne his name since its establishment, 90...
Tomi Lahren mocked President Joe Biden for his heavy usage of former President Donald Trump’s name during the Virginia State Governor Elections Thursday on Fox News. “I think that President Joe Biden misses President Donald Trump as much as we all do and as much as the American people do and as much as the liberal media does, quite frankly,” Lahren said, “or maybe it’s just that Donald Trump’s name is the only name that Joe Biden can remember at this point.” Fox host and former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said that Biden criticized the effect of Trump’s policies on America, even though, according to McEnany, the nation had “historically low unemployment, higher wages, lower gas prices” during Trump’s tenure. Lahren said that states were better off with Trump’s leadership. Former US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius said 'nothing could have prepared [him] for the strangeness' of the ex-president's May 2017 White House meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuân Phúc in a section of his forthcoming book about US-Vietnam relations. Osius only met Trump just before the meeting, he claimed in the excerpt released by Salon. He recounted stepping into a crowded Oval Office where he 'stared at a stiff helmet of orange hair.' The diplomat said Trump told him he was 'lucky' to have such a 'good job.'  He agreed, adding 'I love my job and feel privileged to do it.'  Shortly before the planned state visit began Trump asked him, 'So, who are we meeting?' Liz Cheney, according to a source familiar with the event, putting him in direct opposition with the efforts of former President Donald Trump. The primary race between Cheney and her Trump-endorsed Republican challenger Harriet Hageman is shaping up as one of the most notable proxy contests in the greater fight over the future of the Republican Party. Cheney, the daughter of Bush's Vice President Dick Cheney, voted to impeach Trump after the deadly riot at the US Capitol on January 6 and has rejected his baseless claims that there was widespread fraud in the 2020 election, leading to her ejection from her House Republican leadership role. Bush's fundraising event for Cheney will be held next month in his home state of Texas, according to the source. The Wall Street Journal was first to report the details of the fundraiser.Other notable Republicans who have donated to Cheney since her impeachment vote include Bush's brother Jed, former House speakers John Boehner and Paul Ryan, and George Bush's former senior...
Former United Nations Amb. Nikki Haley said President Joe Biden 'ignored' threats to the United States in his U.N. General Assembly address where he didn't mention Russia or China by name.  'President Biden's speech ignored the reality and seriousness of America's threats and enemies,' Haley told Fox News Tuesday after Biden delivered remarks in New York. 'China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Afghanistan, and terrorism, to name a few.'  Haley added that 'under the Trump administration, the world knew where we stood.'  'At the U.N., we took the names of our enemies and had the backs of our allies,' the former South Carolina governor said.    Piggybacking off of former President Donald Trump's campaign nickname for Biden - 'Sleepy Joe' Haley noted, 'With Joe Biden asleep at the switch, our friends don't trust us, and our enemies are rejoicing.'   Former U.N. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi mocked the idea of former President Donald Trump running again in 2024 during a Cambridge University event Thursday. It is almost a given at this point that Trump will run for president again, though he has not announced a decision yet. The former president has been very vocal in recent weeks criticizing President Joe Biden on Afghanistan and continuing to push the big lie about the 2020 election. Pelosi referred to Trump as “what’s-his-name” when she talked about the riots at the Capitol he stoked, reviewing the horrors of January 6th. The Speaker talked about the second impeachment of the former president, saying, “Near-term review will show magnificent presentations on the part of our presenters… Impeachment in itself is a penalty.” Even though he wasn’t convicted, she added, he’s “always impeached. Twice.” Pelosi also made a point of saying, “I don’t ever talk about him. I mean, I reference him from time to time with ‘what’s-his-name.'” “If he wants to run again, he’ll be the first president who was impeached twice and defeated twice,”...
First Donald Trump was ousted from the Oval Office, now his name is being stripped from one of his organization's Westchester condo complexes. Unit owners in the 35-story Trump Tower at City Center in White Plains reportedly voted to drop the controversial former president's name, leading them to remove his title from the building entirely. More than two-thirds of the unit owners in the building voted in favor of removing the Trump moniker, with many citing the Jan. 6 insurrection of the former president’s supporters at the US Capitol as their reasoning for canceling him. There had reportedly been talks amongst condo owners about removing the Trump name earlier, but they never came to fruition. However, following the riot at the Capitol, many believed it could have hurt property values being associated with the disgraced former president. Biden meant to refer to Obama, under whom he served for eight years as vice president, when describing his role in auto-industry bailouts in 2009. “In 2009, during the so-called Great Recession, the president asked me to be in charge of managing that piece — then-President Trump,” Biden misstated during a speech near Allentown, Pa. “Excuse me, Freudian slip, that was the last president. He caused — anyway, President Obama, when I was vice president. The American auto industry, remember, was on the rocks?” A Freudian slip refers to someone accidentally revealing their...
Calling the move a “disgrace,” former President Donald Trump blasted the decision by the Cleveland Indians to change their name to the “Guardians.” “Can anybody believe that the Cleveland Indians, a storied and cherished baseball franchise since taking the name in 1915, are changing their name to the Guardians? Such a disgrace, and I guarantee that the people who are most angry about it are the many Indians of our Country,” Trump said in a statement on Friday. The baseball franchise announced the name change in a two-minute video posted to Twitter on Friday. The move follows a decade long battle between the team and left-wing opponents, who have decried the name as “racist.” “Wouldn’t it be an honor to have a team named the Cleveland Indians, and wouldn’t it be disrespectful to rip that name and logo off of those jerseys? The people of Cleveland cannot be thrilled and I, as a FORMER baseball fan, cannot believe things such as this are happening,” Trump continued. The move...
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Friday the White House “certainly support[s]” the Cleveland Indians changing the team name to the Guardians. The MLB team made the announcement with a Tom Hanks-narrated video on Friday morning, saying in a statement “Hearing firsthand the stories and experiences of Native American people, we gained a deep understanding of how tribal communities feel about the team name and the detrimental effects it has on them.” One of the loudest criticisms thus far has come from former President Donald Trump, who called it a “disgrace” and claimed “the people who are most angry about it are the many Indians of our Country.” One reporter asked Psaki about the news and the former president’s statement. “We certainly support their change of name,” Psaki said. “We may be on the other side of the president — former president — on that front, I would guess. I haven’t seen his tweet, or however he’s communicating these days.” You can watch above, via the Washington Post. Have a tip we should know? [email protected]
Former Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) said Monday on CNN’s “Situation Room” that former President Donald Trump’s “ugly” name-calling will continue to shrink the Republican Party. The panel was discussing former President Donald Trump’s comments at a Republican fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago, where Trump reportedly called Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)  a “stone-cold loser” and criticized former Vice President Mike Pence and former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao. Blitzer said, “The former president is still recycling so many of the false claims about the election he’s been making since November. Does it matter to his base or his donors that he seems to be having nothing new to offer them?” Kasich said, “You know, it’s amazing to me, Wolf, that they sit in this room and hear more name-calling, more divisiveness, more anger. I mean, how do you expect to sell something to voters when you’re just divisive and angry and name-calling and belittling? The party needs to move to a set of issues that will improve the lives of Americans, and so far, I haven’t heard any of what they plan to...

Steve Scalise have also visited with Trump and most House Republicans — with the notable exception of GOP conference chair Liz Cheney — view the former President as their standard-bearer. President Biden seems to have a spotty memory when it comes to names and details.  On Monday, the president appeared to forget Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s name during a White House event, calling the Pentagon chief "the guy who runs that outfit over there." "And I want to thank the sec -- the, the, ah former general. I keep calling him general, but my, my -- the guy who runs that outfit over there," Biden said. In December, Biden announced his pick to lead Health and Human Services, Xavier Becerra, but introduced him with the wrong name and title. Donald Trump said Monday that he won’t support giving money to moderate Republican candidates as he ups civil war with the GOP after demanding three biggest fundraising groups stop using his name to solicit donors. “No more money for RINOS,” the former president demanded in a Monday evening statement from his Save America political action committee. RINOS is a negative term given from within the Republican Party to those lawmakers they deem are ‘Republicans in Name Only’ – meaning they either regularly break with GOP ranks or, in some cases, just refers to anti-Trump Republicans. “They do nothing but hurt the Republican Party and our great voting base—they will never lead us to Greatness,” he continued of so-called RINOS, urging support for his PAC by saying: “Send your donation to Save America PAC at DonaldJTrump.com. We will bring it all back stronger than ever before!” Trump has been causing a further chasm within the GOP by using his time out of office to throw his support behind certain candidates and lawmakers while bashing others as traitors to the Republican Party....
