A woman has claimed that she and her friends were 'set up to be robbed' when they rented a home for a bachelorette party in Austin, Texas, saying there were a number of red flags that led to them fleeing the property in the middle of the night.   Callie Bryant, 28, from Arkansas, shared a now-viral TikTok video of her friends in the lobby of a hotel after 'emergency evacuating' the home they booked on Vrbo, a vacation rental platform.  She explained in the on-screen text that the doors wouldn't lock, the alarm system was dead, and the owner didn't respond to their concerns. She also alleged that when they tried to look up the listing on Vrbo, it was gone.   'We realized we were being set up to be robbed and/or worse,' she wrote.  Scroll down for video   Callie Bryant, 28, from Arkansas, shared a now-viral TikTok video of her friends in the lobby of a hotel after 'emergency evacuating' the home they booked on Vrbo She claimed in the on-screen text that the doors wouldn't lock, the alarm system...

An Instagram account claiming to be the 'Tinder Swindler' has branded three of his victims ‘manipulators’ after they launched a fundraising page in a bid to cover the huge debts they've been left with. Cecilie Fjellhøy, Ayleen Koeleman, and Pernilla Sjoholm set up the GoFundMe profile in the hopes of raising £600,000 after receiving a flood of support from sharing their story in the Netflix documentary, The Tinder Swindler. But an Instagram story from an account claiming to belong to Shimon Hayut - the serial fraudster who posed as the son of a billionaire Israeli diamond merchant to swindle women he dated out of thousands of pounds - has slammed the women's campaign. 'Go ahead and help real associations… not these manipulators. This is what is called MARKETING,' the 30-year-old wrote on a since deleted social media profile on Wednesday, according to The Independent.  The convicted conman - who would pose as 'Simon Leviev', son of the billionaire Russian-Israeli diamond mogul, Lev Leviev - would use the money he acquired from other victims to impress single women he met on Tinder with an expensive lifestyle and lavish gifts. ...
Three women who fell victim to the 'Tinder Swindler' have made a fundraising page for people to contribute towards paying off their debts after receiving a flood of support from sharing their story in a Netflix documentary. Cecilie Fjellhøy, Ayleen Koeleman, and Pernilla Sjoholm, were fooled into thinking Shimon Heyada Hayut, 30, from Israel, was the son of a billionaire diamond merchant after meeting him on a dating app.  The convicted conman would use the money he acquired from other victims to impress single women with an expensive lifestyle and lavish gifts.  Shimon, who has been known to use pseudonyms, scammed Cecilie, Ayleen and Pernilla by claiming that he needed to borrow money because using his own funds could lead him to be traced by his enemies.  It is unclear how many other people fell for the scam but it is estimated that he conned his victims out of £7.4 million. Having received messages of support following the hit Netflix documentary, Cecilie, Ayleen and Pernilla, have set up a GoFundMe page with the hopes of raising £600,000.  Cecilie Fjellhøy (pictured, with Shimon Heyada Hayut) has teamed...
The elite $60,000-a-year Collegiate School in New York City, the oldest private school in the nation, spent three years debating it's Dutchman mascot and motto and issued a woke 400-page report that critics called 'overkill.' The Upper Westside school, which taught John F. Kennedy Jr. and David Duchovny, began looking into it's mascot - a winking Dutchman- and motto - 'Unless God, then in vain' - in 2019, ultimately considering both potentially offensive.  The 394-year-old institution refashioned its mascot to avoid feelings of excessive eurocentrism, swapping out the winking Dutchman with a silhouetted colonial figure figure holding a lantern.  The motto was also changed to 'Wisdom, Community, Kindness' in Latin, and the school also dropped A.D., meaning Year of our Lord,  from its seal.  The change has drawn backlash from parents in the school, with one telling the New York Post: 'A lot of folks think the whole thing was just ridiculous overkill. Four hundred pages? For a mascot? A motto?'  The Collegiate School, the oldest private school in the nation, issued a 400 page report finding its winking Dutchman mascot...
FEDERICO CHIESA'S season-ending injury means Juventus are in the market for a new forward. And reports suggest they have made former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang their top target. 1Juventus are reportedly keen on a move for AubameyangCredit: EPA Mauro Icardi was previously courted, but Juve have now turned their attention to Aubameyang, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercato. Chiesa injured his ACL in the 4-3 comeback win over Roma, bringing his season to a premature end. It leaves Juve short of options up front, with Aubameyang now 'top of the shortlist' for the Serie A giants. Memphis Depay has been mentioned too, but as with Icardi, that interest seems to have waned in favour of the Arsenal outcast. Aubameyang has played both up front and out wide for the Gunners, meaning he can either lead the line or take up Chiesa's position on one of the flanks. Arsenal are claimed to be willing to listen to offers for Aubameyang, which could spark an approach from Juve. Most read in SportDJOKOVIC UPDATES Tennis star could...
BRITISH FA chiefs are ready to dump the planned 2030 World Cup bid - after being given a “promise” they can host Euro 2028 instead. Uefa’s high command signalled it would ensure an England-led five nations bid WILL be handed the keys to take the next available Euros if they pull out of the contest for Fifa’s big prize. 1Uefa are big fans of Wembley The Government has backed the ongoing “feasibility study” into a British Isles bid for 2030, promising to fund it to the tune of £11m. PM Boris Johnson has pushed the bid as part of his wishes to see a “global Britain” message post-Brexit. But Uefa bosses advised senior British figures at a meeting last month that they risked failing if they pressed ahead with the World Cup campaign. The British chiefs were told that pushing for a World Cup would be “too risky” with Fifa’s leadership under President Gianni Infantino unlikely to give his influential support, despite name-checking the proposed five nation bid in October. Instead, the British associations have been given a commitment that...
WATFORD could be about to hand out-of-favour Sead Kolasinac an Arsenal escape. The 28-year-old has made just four appearances for the Gunners so far this season. 1Sead Kolasinac has made just a handful of recent Arsenal appearancesCredit: Getty He spent half of last term on loan to old club Schalke as they slumped to last place in the Bundesliga. The versatile defender has since found minutes hard to come by at the Emirates. Kieran Tierney is first-choice in his preferred left-back spot. And boss Mikel Arteta has opted for the partnership of Gabriel and new man Ben White in the middle. Kolasinac is out of contract next summer and could be allowed to leave permanently if an offer comes along in January. That career lifeline could come in the shape of a move to Vicarage Road. Perovskite, a mineral made of lead salts, has emerged as a promising material in creating low cost strong solar cells, as it allows the technology to be 3D printed and to last up to 25 years - and now a new study has uncovered the structure of this 'magical' material. Scientists from the University of Cambridge found two forms of disorder, or structures, happening parallel within perovskites: an electronic disorder and spatial chemical disorder. The electronic disorder reduces performance of the solar panel and then the spatial chemical disorder seems to improve it, according to University of Cambridge PhD student Kyle Frohna. 'And what we've found is that the chemical disorder—the 'good' disorder in this case—mitigates the 'bad' disorder from the defects by funneling the charge carriers away from these traps that they might otherwise get caught in,' Frohna shared in a press release. Perovskite, a mineral with a specific crystal structure, have shown impressive performance in creating efficient, strong solar cells (pictured) that can last for around 25 years – and now a new study has uncovered the properties...
The European Union is expected to sign off on plans for Americans who have had their coronavirus jabs to fly to Europe without having to quarantine or take a Covid test in advance. The EU's new plan would see member states adopting uniform entry requirements, meaning vaccinated holidaymakers from low-risk countries - such as the United States and the UK - would be able to enter its member states.  America is expected to be included on the EU's expanded 'green list' of permitted holiday travel on Wednesday as the bloc's ambassadors are set to confirm a European Commission proposal to lift restrictions on well-vaccinated nations. Those without vaccinations will be required to present a negative Covid test or evidence of immunity, which can come from recently recovered from the virus. For travelers from the UK, it is expected that member states will be recommended to prepare digital portals that will allow Britons to use the country's health service app as a vaccine passport, the Daily Telegraph reported. But the US has no such nation-wide app, and so vaccinated US travelers will likely be asked...

UEFA chiefs are ready to let travelling fans into the Champions League and Europa League finals. And that is potentially great news for supporters of the five English teams left in Europe. 3Istanbul could be set to welcome fans for the 2021 Champions League finalCredit: Getty 3 A meeting of Uefa’s ruling executive committee formally lifted the 30 per cent capacity cap on fans that was put in place in October, allowing local authorities the right to set stadium limits for the rest of this season. Away fans remain banned for the remaining games in the last eight and semi-final stages of both competitions, which resume next week. But Uefa will review the measures ahead of the two finals, due to be played in Gdansk and Istanbul at the end of May. And that opens up the prospect of Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester City fans being allowed to travel to Turkey - if the UK Government assents. While Arsenal and Manchester United supporters could be heading to Poland if their side makes the Europa League final. Next month will...

White House spokesman TJ Ducklo resigned Saturday after news that he threatened a Politico reporter came out. By now you’ve probably heard about how Ducklo threatened Tara Palmeri for working on a report about his relationship with Axios reporter Alexi McCammond. The Biden administration only announced his one-week suspension after the initial Vanity Fair report broke, but on Saturday — following questions about whether that suspension is really sufficient given his behavior — Ducklo resigned. Politico editor Carrie Budoff Brown spoke with CNN’s Brian Stelter on Sunday and said, “I expect my reporters to behave professionally. And in return, we expect the same of the people we cover, but particularly public officials who are paid by taxpayers.” Brown noted President Joe Biden’s day-one pledge to staffers that they would be fired “on the spot” if they treated colleagues with disrespect. “The president set a high bar. And I think what this shows is that they will be held to it,” she continued. “I think we can all expect and hope that professionalism is what happens when reporters are doing their jobs...
EIGHTY-TWO percent of parents are making a daily, concerted effort to raise their children to be confident, according to new research. A new poll of 1,000 parents of school-aged children found 47 per cent said they make sure they themselves are a good example of confidence for their children. 1Instilling confidence in children is important for future life And 54 per cent inspire confidence in their children by allowing them to do things themselves. The study, conducted by OnePoll in conjunction with Stokke, aimed to determine how parents approach their child-rearing habits and discovered 73 per cent said seeing their children exhibit confidence makes them feel like they’ve mastered their parenting skills. Also, 74 per cent said having a close relationship with their children is vital to their kids’ confidence. And parents hope to boost their kids’ overall confidence by celebrating milestones.  However slight, 78 per cent of parents make an effort to celebrate all their child’s milestones and "firsts". From a baby’s first time eating solid food and their first lost tooth to middle and elementary school graduation, parents...
CRISTIANO RONALDO will reportedly be put up for sale by Juventus to cash in on the Portuguese superstar before his contract runs out. Sport reports the Old Lady are considering selling this summer for financial reasons given the state of play during the coronavirus pandemic. 3Cristiano Ronaldo could be sold by Juventus in the summerCredit: Getty Images - Getty Ronaldo reels in £540,000 a week - nearly FOUR times as much as the club's next highest paid player Matthijs de Ligt. The 35-year-old's contract expires in 2022 and the Bianconeri risk seeing their prolific forward leave for free. However, the report states an extension to his current deal with its huge financial benefits is believed to be unsustainable. Ronaldo is not getting any younger and the Serie A giants are hopeful they can recoup some of the £99million they forked out to sign the Portugal captain from Real Madrid in 2018. He was signed by Juve chiefs with the aim of helping the Bianconeri dominate in the Champions League but bosses are frustrated after quarter-final and Last 16...
Republican lawmakers controlling the state legislature in Pennsylvania have voted to create an 'election integrity' committee – which Democrats are warning could be used to subvert the popular vote and send a slate of Donald Trump electors in the case of disputed results. The move follows repeated complaints by the president about mail-in ballots and an unusual move by the Justice Department to announce an investigation over nine discarded ballots that were uncovered. The 5-person committee would have a Republican majority. It could subpoena witnesses and documents, can initiate legal filings and can get to work before the November 3 election, which Trump on Tuesday once again said would be filled with fraud. Pennsylvania House Minority Leader Frank Dermody, D-Allegheny, speaks Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at the state Capitol in Harrisburg, Pa. He has raised alarms about a new GOP-run 'election integrity' committee House Democratic Minority Leader Frank Dermody of Allegheny warned in a statement: 'To put it simply this is a dangerous threat to our democracy.' The resolution passing the committee came on a party-line vote, and state Democrats are already...
CHELSEA are set to splash £50million on Ben Chilwell... but the stats show they might be better off sticking with Marcos Alonso. The Blues look on course to take their summer spending beyond £200m when they complete a deal for the Leicester left-back, who is expected to earn a staggering £190,000 per week. 4 That transfer could be all wrapped up this week as Frank Lampard bolsters his defensive options. But the stats seem to suggest the current left-back might actually be better. There is no doubt Chilwell, 23, is a real talent - no one becomes the first-choice England No3 for nothing. But there are certainly weaknesses in attack and defensive frailties that will need to be ironed out to take the Leicester academy graduate to the next level. Out of Chilwell, Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta, Reece James and Emerson Palmieri, only the Blues captain played more minutes than the £50m target's 2375 in the Premier League last season. But despite playing almost 1,000 minutes fewer, Alonso has racked up as many goal involvements - four goals and two...
