The second week in May has been dominated by inflation, the economy and a baby formula shortage which the Biden administration is struggling to respond to. No wonder Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) says President Joe Biden is a "disaster". Here are the quotes of the week.

"I look back at that and think, that probably wasn’t the best idea.

— Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors admits that she had two parties at the $6 million California mansion the organization bought.

“Twitter obv has a strong left wing bias.”
Elon Musk slams Twitter for allowing certain posts while choosing to censor others.

“I believe that eliminating the right of women to make decisions about when and whether to have children would have very damaging effects on the economy and would set women back decades.”
— Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says banning abortion would hurt the economy. The remark was criticized as “callous” and “harsh” by Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC).

"You're justifiably right: We control all three branches of the government. Well, we don't really. We have a 50-50 Senate. You need 60 votes to get things done."
— President Joe Biden says Democrats don’t really control Congress.

“It’s simple. The most effective thing Joe Biden can do to solve the inflation crisis he created is resign. He’s the problem. Getting him out of office is a quick and easy solution. Let’s be honest here. Joe Biden is unwell. He’s unfit for office. He’s incoherent, incapacitated, and confused. He doesn’t know where he is half the time. He’s incapable of leading, and he’s incapable of carrying out his duties. Period.”
— Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) sees a solution for improving inflation.

“He’ll maybe be the best person to have. I mean, how mad can you get at Joe Biden?"
— Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) disparaged then-President Donald Trump and said Biden was "maybe the best person to have" following the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, according to leaked audio.

"I was wrong. I've known Joe for 30 years. He's a nice guy, but he's been a disaster as president."
Graham subsequently admits he may have misjudged Biden's abilities.

"Casey has a personal religious belief about abortion, but he has decided he is going to vote for this bill because he knows that this should be a decision made between a woman and her doctor, that this is a private decision. And Sen. Casey should not be making that decision for that woman. Nor should Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz. It should be a decision made by that woman, and that is what Sen. Casey is respecting."
Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA) uses Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), a generally anti-abortion Democrat, as an example of someone not imposing their religious beliefs on party policy.

"I am ultra-MAGA, and I'm proud of it."
— Rep. Elise Stefanik responds to Democrats' attempts to brand Republicans as “ultra-MAGA” ahead of the midterm elections.

“What were his ideas? Oh, it’s everybody else’s fault but his. So, we know he can’t do it. Let’s be honest. We know that Joe Biden cannot fix this economy, all right? Get out of the way. Let somebody else do it. That’s what you would do in a business life.”
Scott hits back at Biden suggesting he has a “problem.”

"The Attorney General of the United States came out this past week with his comprehensive plan for environmental justice. What about a comprehensive plan from the attorney general for crime? For drug crime? For violent crime? For murder?"
— Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) questions why Attorney General Merrick Garland isn’t focusing more on crime.

"I think we have a very good professional relationship, and I understand that he's coming there to ask questions every day that are important to report and the outlet he works for, and I respect that and we have healthy debates and discussions. Doesn't mean I agree with his line of questioning on most days, but I think that I've called on him every day he's been there or a Fox person, Jacqui [Heinrich], who's been there a lot as well, and I think sending the message to the country that we're not focused here on a fight with Fox.”
— Outgoing press secretary Jen Psaki on her relationship with Fox News reporter Steve Doocy.

“Insightful commentary about three Republican Governors who were overwhelmingly re-elected by their people from a former President who lost to Joe Biden. Maybe the ‘R’ in RINO really stands for re-elected.”
— Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie rips Donald Trump over endorsements, in particular Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp. Trump is endorsing his rival David Perdue.

“Under my predecessor, the great MAGA king, the deficit increased every single year he was president.”
Biden shows no signs of dropping his renewed attack on "MAGA," "Ultra-MAGA," or the MAGA-King Donald Trump.

“If President [Donald] Trump were still on Twitter and tweeted a claim about voter fraud, someone could add context from one of the 60 lawsuits that went through the court or something that an election official said…so that people have a fuller picture rather than just an individual claim on a tweet.”
— Biden’s new disinformation chief Nina Jankowicz suggests blue checkmarks on Twitter should be able to edit other blue checks.

“Last night this House approved $US40 billion for Ukraine, as American families go without baby formula. To put that in context, Biden’s budget calls for $US15.3 billion for Customs and Border Patrol. So apparently Ukraine is more than twice as important as our homeland.”
— Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) hits out at the baby formula shortage.

"TRY BREASTFEEEDING! It’s free and available on demand."
— Actress Bette Midler’s solution for the baby formula shortage was quickly ratioed.

"If you'd find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you."
— A Netflix corporate memo suggests the company may be done with employees trying to censor and silence those some deem offensive, including comedian Dave Chappelle.

“When President Biden took office, millions were unemployed and there was no vaccine available.”
— A very misleading tweet from the White House. The COVID-19 vaccine was developed and made available during the Trump administration’s final weeks.

“Twitter deal temporarily on hold pending details supporting calculation that spam/fake accounts do indeed represent less than 5% of users.”
Musk reports a possible snag in the Twitter buyout.

FNCs Homan on Uvalde Law Enforcement Criticism: The Officers Arent the Bad Guys The Shooter Is the Bad Guy

Friday on Fox News Channel’s “Outnumbered,” former ICE Director Tom Homan defended law enforcement in the Uvalde, TX, shooting from criticism about how they handled the active shooter situation.

Homan, now a Fox News contributor, acknowledged an investigation would likely find that the situation wasn’t handled perfectly but emphasized that “the officers aren’t the bad guys.”

“[W]hen people question why didn’t the police knock down the door earlier — you’ve heard the term ‘follow death.’ They don’t have any of that equipment, they don’t have any of that training, so it puts them at great risk,” Homan advised. “I am not the Monday morning quarterback. I’m just saying there are a lot of cops here that did a lot of the right things and overall saved a lot of lives. But there’s going to be lessons learned. … The investigation isn’t over with yet. Having a timeline is a good thing to have. But they’ve got to talk to a lot of people — what were you doing at this time? Did you have any visibility on the bad guy at that time? So, there is a lot more questions that need to be answered. The comments are troubling to me. I think there would be lessons learned. I think there are going to be some mistakes that were made. But, you know, until the investigation is over, I think we are jumping the gun. And so many reporters, the way they are firing questions at [Steve] McGraw I think was a little unfair.”

He added, “I can guarantee that every one of these officers … are questioning themselves every minute of every day, not sleeping and remembering the carnage that they’ll never forget. So, these are victims, too, but I think we’ve got to wait until the investigation is completely over before we start throwing officers under the bus. The officers aren’t the bad guys. The shooter is the bad guy.
