Vice President Kamala Harris attended the inauguration in Honduras Thursday of socialist President Xiomara Castro, whose husband, Manuel Zelaya, has a history of antisemitic statements and also attempted to rig a referendum in 2009.
Zelaya scapegoated Jews for his removal from power in 2009, claiming that he was targeted by “Israeli mercenaries.” His statements were condemned by the Anti-Defamation League at the time, though Democrats embraced the left-wing leader.

As Breitbart News recounted in 2013:
In June 2009, then-President Manuel Zelaya was removed from office by the Honduran military in accord with the Honduran constitution after he attempted to rig a constitutional referendum. Democrats, including then-Senator (now Secretary of State) John Kerry and Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, charged that the radical, antisemitic Zelaya had been removed in a coup, and supported his efforts to return to power.
The Obama administration embraced Zelaya (literally), attempting to intervene and punishing Hondurans by suspending visa services. President Obama supported Zelaya volubly, declaring: “We do so because we respect the universal principle that people should choose their own leaders, whether they are leaders we agree with or not,” and also that “it would be a terrible precedent if we start moving backwards into the era in which we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition rather than democratic elections.”
And yet all of the evidence indicated that Zelaya’s removal had been legal and proper. When the Law Library of Congress issued a finding that Zelaya’s removal had been constitutional, Kerry tried to have that finding reversed. Kerry also tried to block a fact-finding mission to Honduras by then-Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC).
Thursday happens to be International Holocaust Remembrance Day, as recognized in 2005 by the United Nations.
Harris tweeted about the Holocaust, vowing “to combat antisemitism and hate wherever it [sic] exists.”

She then tweeted, without irony, about her visit to Honduras, failing to mention Zelaya’s history of antisemitism:
Today I am traveling to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to attend the inauguration of President Xiomara Castro. Our relationship with Honduras is an important one. We will meet later today to discuss deepening our cooperation across a broad range of issues between our two nations.

Honduras is one of the Central American states from which migrants to the U.S. are coming in droves. Harris has been tasked with dealing with the “root causes” of migration, though critics note she has not achieved much on the issue.

Scheana Shay attends Hannah Berners wedding after Stassi Schroeder snub

Bravo, Scheana Shay!
After being “disinvited” from Stassi Schroeder’s Rome wedding, the “Vanderpump Rules” personality popped up at the nuptials of “Summer House” alum Hannah Berner.
Current “Summer House” star Ciara Miller shared an Instagram Story video of herself hanging out with Shay at the Hamptons ceremony on Friday night.
“Get in this video, Scheana,” Miller, 26, said in the clip, beckoning Shay, 37, over. The two Bravolebrities then threw up peace signs while posing for the camera.
Shay wore a lavender minidress, while Miller flaunted her enviable abs in a skin-baring orange number to watch Berner and fellow comedian Des Bishop tie the knot on the beach.
Shay appeared to be in good spirits at the ceremony despite being snubbed by Schroeder, who got married for the second time to husband Beau Clark in Italy this week. “Scheana was originally supposed to go, but at some point she got disinvited,” a source exclusively told Page Six. “All she knew was that it was for ‘budget reasons,’ although it didn’t really seem like she was buying it.”
“Pump Rules” OG Tom Sandoval also didn’t make the guest list. He admitted that he never received an invite during a recent live taping of Shay’s “Scheananigans” podcast, a Page Six spy revealed.
Schroeder’s longtime pal and former co-star Kristen Doute was also not in attendance. However, Doute, 39, clarified via social media that she wasn’t there because she had already committed to another wedding happening at the same time in the States.Berner and fellow comedian Des Bishop tied the knot one day after Schroeder and Clark on May 13. desbishop/Instagram
Meanwhile, Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz witnessed Schroeder, 33, and Clark, 42, exchange vows — and appeared to be getting along in Instagram videos despite their ongoing divorce.
Clark — who began dating Schroeder in 2018 — proposed to the “Off With My Head” author by getting down on one knee at a graveyard in July 2019 in front of Bravo cameras.
Though the couple hoped to tie the knot on “Pump Rules,” Schroeder was fired from “Vanderpump Rules” in June 2020 after falsely accusing then-co-star Faith Stowers — the show’s only black cast member at the time — of robbery in a 2018 police call.Schroeder married Beau Clark for a second time in in Rome on May 12.
Doute was also terminated for participating in the offense. They both issued apologies.
Bravo announced this week that “Pump Rules” has been renewed for a 10th season.Filed under bravo , reality stars , reality tv , scheana shay , stassi schroeder , summer house , vanderpump rules , 5/13/22
