Esperanza Health Centers Hosting Pop-Up For Free Flu Shots Thursday In Brighton Park

BRIGHTON PARK — Esperanza Health Centers is giving out free flu shots in Brighton Park on Thursday.
The health provider on the Southwest Side is hosting the pop-up at 9:30 a.m. at 4700 S. California Ave.
Esperanza Health Centers, Direct Relief and Clorox are teaming up for the event.
City health officials have said everyone who is able to should get a flu shot this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.Doing so can prevent the health care system from being overwhelmed by sick people and can help protect people from contracting the flu and coronavirus at the same time.
People are encouraged to make appointments by calling 773-584-6200, but walk-ins will also be accepted.

Freeway Shooting Causes SigAlert, Closure of I-110, I-105 Freeways
California Highway Patrol officers issued a SigAlert for the northbound I-110, from the I-105 to Manchester Boulevard. All lanes are blocked for an unknown duration to due the police presence.
This is the second reported incident of shots being fired on Southland roadways in two days, when a man was shot in the face from another vehicle in Sylmar on Wednesday evening.
